 Yes I see my flight info (flight number and times),  but not a reservation number. I may just call Delta and see if they can help thank you anyway. 

Thank you for all the input.  I am seriously considering canceling Cagneys and going with Teppanyaki and La Cucina. We go to Teppanyaki style restaurants occasionally but have heard the one on board is better. 

 I’ve booked Cagneys and Le Bistro, I am very excited about those two! Now I cannot decide between La Cucina and Teppanyaki. 🤷‍♀️

 When booking my own flights I will get a notification to check in from the airline (usually 24 hours before). Will I get the same notification to check in for my flights from NCL? I have never had a cruise line book my airfare before and I can’t even locate the flight reservation number on my confirmation.

If you are into a specific NY TV show or movies, some tours focus on these  - we did the Sex and the City Tour. We LOVED it. We saw most NY sights and SATC sights. We did a Gospel Harlem Walking Tour which was fantastic.

 

We did the Brooklyn Pizza Tour which takes you around Brooklyn to Saturday Night Fever and Mob movie sights, Coney Island etc.

 

Also did a great walking pizza tour another trip, I think it was Scott's Pizza Tour - also great. 

 

I love these tour ideas, thank you! We've been to NYC several times so we are not trying to "see everything." Just wanted to make the most of our day there. We have never been to Coney Island, so I am leaning to the Brooklyn Pizza Tour. It sounds awesome as I loved SNF!

Hi there, our ship arrives in manhattan at 7:15am and our flight from LGA is at 9:15pm. Any recommendations for a good tour of the city, preferably not just riding a bus around all day? We will have our suitcases in tow.

I had no idea about the app and booking and utilizing it waiting to board, thank you so much. I will also go to a kiosk first think for comedy shows. I really appreciate this tip!

We got into a pattern of going to the dining room with our children (now 6 and 9) at 530 or 6, order an app, while they order their dinner (son loves steak but happy with the dining room one).  When done, we would drop them at "Camp" (Kids club) and have reservations for 730 or 8 at a specialty restaurant.  One app and a glass of wine didn't fill us up - gave us the chance to "have dinner" with the kids, they loved not missing camp and not having to sit through a long dinner (they traditionally only order main and dessert), saved us money on their "fine" dining and gave us a little time to ourselves.  

 

The buffet is good too but our kids enjoyed the dining room experience and is much less chaotic.

Excellent advice! Yes, I think this is what we will do and maybe take them to one specialty and pay a la carte.

I was thinking that we would have enough to share other than the main course, so this helps confirm that, thank you! My boys love steak too!

All of the tips are very appreciated!! We will be taking your advice and have a drink and maybe an appetizer earlier in the evening in the MDR or buffet while boys eat, then take to camp, then enjoy the specialty dining. We will take them to one of our specialty restaurants, probably Cagney's since they love steak. Thank you again!! I'm so excited and so happy I booked this cruise.

OP if you really want to waster money on the kids, go ahead and let them order off the menu a la carte. I would never order a dining package for each of them. No matter how much they like to try new foods, which I think is great; 9 year olds can only eat so much. 

My 9 year old boys must be growing through a growing spurt, they eat more than me! I love to "waste" my money on food/new exeriences for my boys, but thanks for your 2 cents worth. Happy cruising!

New to NCL (well, sailed on the Pride of ALOHA, in 2005 or 2006) and just booked the Escape with the specialty dining package included for first 2 passengers. I understand that children are complimentary IF ordering off of the children's menu. Well, I was able to finally find one of those menus (which is the same for all restaurants) and it sounded terrible (hot dog, nuggets, pizza, etc). Our sons enjoy the dining experience because they like trying new things. I grimace thinking about their faces as I am having my filet mignon and they are having a hot dog. So, I am probably looking at purchasing them a package as well. My question is, do you experienced NCL cruisers think we will do better purchasing in advance or waiting and purchasing the meal they choose a la carte? I've read differing accounts as to being charged for 2 appetizers and desserts. I am thinking we will do better just purchasing their meals separately as we go and asking for two apps and desserts for myself and husband to share with our sons. Is that cheating? We have reservations at Bayomo, Bistro and Cagneys.

2nd question: They like milk at dinner. Is milk available for children?

3rd question: I was only able to reserve one show on my sailing. Any advice for getting reservations on-board? Should I, like, rush to guest services right after boarding?

4th question: My first time with a drink package in about 15+ cruises, not a big drinker and I do not like the sweet frozen drinks (after about the first one- kills my appetite and I feel like I'm drinking dessert). What is your favorite not-too-sweet NCL drink?

We requested reservations for the steakhouse on the first night, received an email reply that our requested time was not available, but a later time was. I replied back that we would take the later time, but did not receive a confirmation. Does anyone know if the reservation will show up somewhere? How should I check? Should I email again? TIA

 I would never take a passport ashore. My post above said I am going to take a PHOTO on my phone and take with me ashore, in case of emergency and passport number is needed.

I may go ahead and get them, port days make me nervous! I am also going to take photos of passports and take with me ashore.

One thing to watch for booking Deck11 (or any deck) is location. I sailed the Breeze and booked spa cabin 11211. It was an interior which I didn’t mind, I got a better deal to take the INT-SPA over a Cove. Great location for the back access to the spa.

 

Each early morning I kept hearing a Thump. Thump. Thump. By day three I took a walk to check what was on Deck 12. My stateroom was directly under the pull weight bench. So each morning I was up as the early birds started to work out. LOL

 

It was tolerable, but now I always check what part of the gym or spa is above me.

Thanks elcuchio, I see how having passports is better for peace of mind. I meant to stay "expedited passports" above instead of birth certificates (we have those!). We are wanting to take them to an all inclusive in Mexico next year, so will definitely have to get them then. Thanks again and have a great day!

I have read that only a certified birth certificate is required for 7 night Caribbean cruise from US. Has anyone ever had any trouble or ran into disadvantage with NOT having a passport for children? Trying to decide if I should try and get expedited birth certificates before our cruise. TIA

We stayed in a cove on the Dream, was probably my favorite balcony so far. I really like being so close to the water and watching how the ship moves through the water, it is beautiful! It is closed in so you do not get the sun like a regular balcony, but I think it is very cool! I kept watching for dolphin during sail away because I heard they sometimes like to swim out with the ships, but I never saw any. Enjoy your cruise!

Had cabin 12017 in July - loved it and enjoyed the extra sun on sea days.
