  2. Just started following your postings can you summarize what a world cruise is, etc. (I can assume and I have read your opening) and more importantly how you take your notes, do you have a voice to text phone, do you take notes all day long, as you go or do you summarize at night? Thx in advance.

  3. Hello everyone. I am new cruiser. After reading some posts I am a little confused. The cheapest shuttle I could find for my party of 4 was SuperShuttle. However, after reading some posts, people were stating that SuperShuttle is not allowed at Fort Lauderdale Airport. If that is the case then how can SuperShuttle give me a quote? I just dont want to be left there stranded.

My other concern is, we are flying in the same day our cruise is leaving. Our flight arrives at 9:24 am and our cruise leaves at 4pm. How early can we board the cruise? I figure we will arrive at the ship around 11-11:30.

I dont really want to rent a car either because I dont want to pay for the car rental and pay $20 for parking for the car not to be used. LOL.

My other option is to do a different cruise that leaves out of FLL a day after our flight arrives but the ship is Harmony of the Seas and its SOOOO MUCH MORE MONEY. LOL.

If SuperShuttle doesn't work out for you try MJS transportation who we are using in April.

  4. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Hotel/Motel near the Miami cruise port where we can stay 1 Nt. pre-cruise that provides included parking for 14 days and shuttle service to/from the cruise port ?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend on/off cruise port parking and their daily/weekly rates ?

Thanks in advance for all responses.

We use these guys. Says 7 days parking but I would call and ask about 14 days. Free shuttle to port.

  5. I did the cruise after and thought it was absolutely wonderful. I did a private excursion booked through Estancia.com to Volunteer Point. Excellent excursion- compared to the ship's excursion and so much cheaper. We saw so many more King Penguins. There was a very large colony of King Penguins, a large colony of Gentoos, and Magellanics there as well.

La Cucina is where the suites/VIPs have breakfast and lunch. I had breakfast there most days. Excellent food and service. Lunch I only had twice as I was just as happy to grab something quick from the buffet or the poolside barbecues. I guess we all like different food, but I enjoyed my meals from the MDR, but I also changed certain dishes to reflect my tastes. The steak was excellent as it comes from Argentina, tender, lean and tasty (grass fed). I also ate in Le Bistro and the Italian- enjoyed the duck dish and the Osso Bucco. Didn't try the other specialties as I'm not overly keen on them. I actually enjoyed the variety you could get in the MDR. We did the Beagle Channel in the afternoon with an onboard commentary from the excellent onboard guest lecturer - Peter??? You could get that same commentary in your stateroom on channel 21. All this information was in the Freestyle Daily. Also Peter (guest lecturer) was available for questions both after his talks and each night in the atrium for a set time. Maybe it was 6- 7.30 pm. I can't remember the exact times. He is worth seeking out if you have questions as he was a wealth of knowledge and very easy to listen too. His lectures were replayed on Channel 26. For me this was one of the best cruises I've done with NCL for a while. All staff / waiters/ bar waiters etc were friendly and attentive. Due to the many different public spaces there was a good variety of sea day activities. I was on the reverse sailing 2nd- 16th. It was definitely a great cruise for me and I only have positive things to say about it. We did miss the horn- which was probably my only disappointment. I also did some excellent private excursions all organised through our roll call.

Why did you miss the horn?

  6. Did you rebook or was this an existing booking? I repriced several of my current bookings and they were all a hundred fifty to $200 more today than what I booked for, therefore I don't think the extra promotions are a value, at least to me.

  7. Although it will do no good allow me to clarify: As I was asleep in world history class I did not learn to distinguish individual people groups. Scusi, as I did not intend to insinuate 'all' were rude, but the term 'many' or 'many many' had no consideration for anyone but themselves as they pushed, shoved, and line jumped. We have since decided it's simply a culture issue. If you were offended by my comment, then I apologize - that's what polite cultures do in addition to simply wait their turn.

  8. Just off the Mediterranea this morning and agree with all of the comments. We gave this cruise 🚢 a 7 out of 10 overall. Our Norwegian Panama canal cruise 10 days earlier we gave a 7.5. Both have their pluses and minus's. The rude European behavior on Costa was unexpected and often funny at times.

  9. Show me! I just picked a cruise, ship and date. Then selected 3 random on line agents. Compared 5 different room classes and rates. And guess what? Perks aside, prices are identical. I'm trying to be open to this argument, but it's difficult.
