  1. I cruise both - 6 on Carnival, 5 on Princess.  I've noticed cuts with both cruise lines - especially food portions and entertainment.  I will say that you will more than likely be surrounded by more "civilized" people on Princess, which sounds like one of your concerns.  However, I was soooo bored on the Majestic Princess this past April, I was ready to jump overboard!!! Pluses and minuses as will all cruise lines.

This thread was definitely the most helpful! The roll call both here and on the site not to be named hasn't been much help! ha

That said, I'm still at a loss of what island would be best to just wander around and window shop, go to a local beach etc! I can't afford excursions every day! ha

We've been saying the same thing.  This is the most port intensive cruise that we have ever been on - thats one of the reasons why we chose it!  Now its the challenge of having the most fun but not breaking the bank! lol I guess its "first world" problems.  This is also our first RCL cruise and first time leaving out of Puerto Rico.  Can't wait for the adventure!

  3. So they were not able to fix the problem and had to submit a "work order".  I did discover that I could access my booking a different way and that worked!  So if you click on "booked guests" along the white banner, it takes you to different options.  On the left you then click on "access cruise personalizer".  You'll need your booking number.  At that point  you can manage your upcoming booking - which is what I wanted to do in the first place.

One of these days, I want to try the Majestic just for the Hollywood BC.

We just got off a couple of weeks ago.  Hollywood area is nothing special IMO.  Its disappointing that the roof over the pool is not retractable during nice weather - which, unfortunately, wasn't a problem on our cruise.  If I paid for that area I would want my money back.

We were one of the first time Princess bluebies. Have cruised a lot of the other cruise lines and decided to give Princess a try last week on the April 02 cruise.

While we had a nice relaxing cruise, we are wondering how much the cutbacks have affected this cruise?

Our main issue was lack of entertainment or things to do.

The entertainment they had were good. Especially, the comedian and Darren Dowler. (Although, not sure why the comedian was in the main Theater 2 nights)

It just seemed not much was going on. Or should I say not a lot of choices. Seemed Vista Gaming Lounge was only open a few nights. Is this normal on Princess?

Been on Celebrity and Norwegian since the Covid startup and never saw this problem. We had tons of options on them for entertainment.

Just wondering if some of Platinum or Elite Princess cruisers could reply about the entertainment last week compared to other Princess cruises.

We felt the same.  This was our 5th Princess cruise (8th total) and honestly we were bored out of our minds.  Like you said, it wasn't a lack of talent, it was a lack of variety.  Even the shows in the theater, while performed very well, lacked creativity.  One can only listen to a mariachi band so many days!  I spoke with a number of people who felt the same way.  And of course, you will have the ones that think the opposite.. and that's fine.

  6. Well to answer my own question, no they do not.  The annoying thing is that it’s listed in the app and you can order it but guess what? They bring you a substitute - and neglect to tell you it’s a substitute unless you ask.

  7. I know Carnival, and I believe RCL are the only lines that will allow you to bring them on board.  As far as flying them, you'll have to check local laws at each stop.

We are sailing on the Majestic Princess on April 02 and still can't select boarding times.

It says "Sorry! Arrival groups will be available closer to the start of your journey."

Green Laned for items 1,2,3, and 5. Just not 4. The boarding section.

Since this is our first Princess Sailing, we are wondering if we need to do anything else. Or is Princess just running behind with this ship and process.

I thought I read 30 days out was the magic number.

Anyways, I did just post the same question on our Roll Call but it seems a little slow.

Same sailing - same message.  I guess you just keep checking back.
