  1. Do not rent a car. I have to recommend the carnival tour that goes to titou gorge and the hot springs. Go to the excursion desk...it said you had to be 16 but when my husband went down there, the said that was a mistake. We too, our kids age 11,13,14,17 on this tour and they loved it! We booked it cause I wanted the hot springs but they enjoyed it as much as I did! Titou gorge is a must see, pirates of the Caribbean was filmed there. It was the highlight of my kids cruise, they absolutely loved it. We were blessed that our st kitts port was cancelled due to winds and replaced with Dominica, it is our favorite island and we were so excited to be able to take the kids...,they don't cruise there much anymore. It was our third time, that is the first island I try to get to if possible...beautiful!

  2. I think they are worth it. Before our last cruise, I would've never paid to go to the steakhouse. Last cruise, it was comped to my husband and I. wOW! Delicious! The steaks were huge, I think the smallest was 14 oz but I could be wrong. I got a filet, had it butterflied, with a baked potatoe and veggies. The apple tart dessert was to die for today! We were with our kids but they are teens so we let them go to the MDR while we went to the steakhouse (on the liberty). The last night, I won $240 in the casino so I treated myself to the filet in the MDR for $20. It was just as good and worth every penny. Now, if our budget allows and it sounds good, I won't hesitate to order it in the MDR next week when we are back on the liberty again.

  3. We took our kids this past spring break. My oldest was a senior and 17. She did a few club activities. Several friends she met were already 18 but also seniors. They were not allowed in the structured activities but were able to hang out when things weren't structured since they were in high school. My daughter met people in club activities but for the most part hung out with the 18 year olds. She is now a college freshman but still 17 and she would still go to the club to see if she clicked with anyone but not spend tons of time there.

  4. So, with all the talk of construction on Orient and this not being the best time to visit it, any suggestions of a beautiful beach to spend the day at? We actually spent a week there in 1998 but back then we didn't research much so we didn't see as much as we should've. We were there in April on a cruise and went to the Marigot market, Serafinas, and Maho. Looking for a place that we won't have a hard time getting a cab back to the boat that at least has a restroom and chairs for rent. The more picturesque, the better. Thanks in advance! We will be there in 2-3 weeks so I was hoping to find a good beach for this time of year.

  5. In April we took a taxi to Marigot. There were six of us so it was more expensive but for two, I think it would be about $20. We went to Serafinas and then through the market as we were there in a Saturday.cabs are plentiful, ask where the stand is and you will get one right away. It is about another $20 to Maho Beach. Our plan was to walk to Mullet Beach but the kids had so much fun looking for sea glass and watching planes, and especially with the wave action there...we ended up just staying there. It is about another $20 back to the ship. Those are approx. it may be a couple dollars higher

  6. In April we walked to the boatyard from the port. On the walk, we walked thru a small park and there was an artist that had a table set up. Original water colors 5x7 were $20 and prints were$6. He is an amazing artist, his name is Albert Barnwell.

  7. Last cruise we had two cabins with my husband and our four kids. We booked FTTF for both cabins. The regular line had about 100people in it, we walked right up in the FTTF line. (San Juan). Anyway, somehow my card was missing from the envelope. The agent then had to escort us downstairs and directly onto the ship so they could print me a card, thus bypassing the 100 people in that line that were waiting to be allowed on. I was able to get my card printed immediately and we were free to go to our room.....fastest boarding ever and I definitely got my money for this one.

  8. I am curious to know how many times you've sailed the same ship and why?

We just sailed on the Dream, and we really liked that ship. I am already browsing cruises on it for next year different itinerary. Would you choose the same ship again or choose something different for a change?

We leave in 19 days for our third cruise on the Liberty. Our fifth cruise ever. We have chosen them based on itinerary. in 2013, we liked the itinerary and the upgrades and thought it would be a good choice for our first family cruise.

This year we actually booked the Valor due to itinerary and were pleasantly surprised when it was switched to the Liberty.

our next cruise on the Liberty we chose cause we loved the itinerary so much with the kids at Spring Break. We have different things we like to do then they do and I ended up sitting with our stuff most of the time and we like to snorkel and they don't so I wasn't able to do so. So, we decided to go back on it and do the things we enjoy without them :)

  9. I just hate the assumption that people who don't appear to be handicapped aren't. I have a 34 year old friend who is slim and gorgeous and she gets grief all the time when she uses the handicap spot with her HC plates.

Amen! I am a 39 year old female that looks younger and healthy...although I was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) 6 years ago. I don't look it but I definitely fell handicapped...some days more than others...it's not always a 'slow' thing, it can be a balance thing or a pain thing, or an issue that happens suddenly from overheating. I have only ever had one person say anything to me so far surprisingly, I have had several nasty looks though.
