  1. I reckon it could be Malaga with similar itineraries to the Spirit for this year???

I think you might be right, and perhaps a bit of a swap around with the current fleet plans, perhaps Majesty from Malaga and then both Discovery ships from Palma. Or D1 from Palma, D2 from Corfu and Dream from Malaga.

  2. Nice to see you back Sailaway and coming up with new Idea,s, just one thing that 3rd ship in the Caribbean in 2017 -18 the Celebration booked into St martin on monday,s and leaving the area 11th march any idea,s of her homeport and her sailing,s thank,s

    Hello!

No idea where Celebration will be, I'd guess either Dom Rep. or Barbados also. Could perhaps do the old 14 night itineraries that Thomson used to do round the Caribbean - TUI Cruises do them well.

I have noticed that Dream has now been booked into weekly for the Canaries on Madeira's schedules, but as you found it is also in Caymen. Sometimes Funchal seem to like to just put Dream is as standard for the Thomson ship when it isn't, but maybe they'll send both Discovery ships to the Caribbean, with Dream doing Canaries, and Celebration doing the 14 night Caribbean cruises. Would suggest no Dubai itineraries though at all.

  3. I've gone for Malta so at least we would get something new, and the ability to do both Western and Eastern itineraries b2b in a week - although P&O are doing the same from next year.

But I also wouldn't mind a mixture of Palma and Corfu homeports, then do 10/11 nights between the two. I think something different from 7 nights would be good for a change.

  4. If you go onto Twitter and search TUI Discovery you can find a lot of pics from the agents/journalists onboard at the moment. Think she's looking brilliant! They've certainly upped their game with this refurb. Bars looks good, atrium looks great, and cabins seem to have all been returbed also from what I can see. Also some really nice black sunbeds around the ship that look much better than the usual.

  5. I wanted to have a look at prices a bit sooner also. Want to know Celebration's fjords cruises and to see Discovery's new itineraries with Rome, as I've done the Rome itinerary it's doing this year.

I think the best we're going to get is if they email the brochure out beforehand, although it seems to be a bit random who actually gets the email sometimes.

If anyone gets it, please can you post the link on here for us all. :)

  6. Some bits and pieces now coming through for next weeks launch. They're teasing on the website 16 new ports of call, one very good offer (guessing free AI) and a new home port (probably Newcastle, unless they're got something else also up their sleeves).

They usually do a press release with more detailed info at some point this week. Keep checking your inboxes also in case they send out the brochure link before launch like they have done in the past.

  7. Thomson haven't officially confirmed then (except Celebration's), but I'm 99% sure:

    Celebration: Newcastle

    Dream: Corfu Town (Fri)

    Discovery: Palma (Sat)

    Majesty: Palma (Tue)

    Spirit: Dubrovnik (Thu)

And then I think for the winter:

    Discovery: Barbados

    Dream: Montego Bay

    Celebration: Tenerife/Gran Canaria

  8. I think there might be an issue with the site as when you search for July, only an Adriatic Explorer sailing appears and nothing else.

A lot of itineraries, including all of Discovery's seem to be missing for most of the summer.

Thomson are in a difficult situation with Turkey - if they pull the port stops, but then they are still selling package holidays to the region.

  9. With TUI announcing that the Thomson name is to be phased out with only TUI being used around the world (a daft decision IMO, but anyway...), what do we think Thomson Cruises will become?

I'd doubt it will become TUI Cruises as there would be too much confusion between the German brand, unless Thomson Cruises is named TUI Cruises UK.

Then again TUI Cruises is using the name Mein Schiff more and more, perhaps "My Cruises" for Thomson??

Or a branch of Sensatori - Seasatori Cruises?

I believe summer 2017 will be the last with the Thomson brand, so once the Mein Schiff's start coming over, Thomson should have been phased out entirely.

What do we think will happen?

  10. Thank you carib cruiser and Jules.

I went to the TA today but there was a queue so I didn't wait.....seems I didn't have to.

I like the North Cape and the two repo's. Prefer the May repo but couldn't do that and N. Cape.

The September cruise must be the last one on Celebration.

    Anyway thanks again.

Celebration's staying. I think it's doing the Canaries W17/18, and then back to either the Med or ex-UK for S18.

  11. Thomson used to do an Italian cruise from Corfu, two versions in summer 2015 (Italian Flavours & The Italian Job).

It was basically a mix of Rome, Naples/Sorrento, Sicily and then either Malta or south east Italy also. They dropped it though for this summer, however with the current issues in the eastern Med, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought it back for summer 2017 - it would make sense for them to do so.

I hope they do as it was a great itinerary! Adriatic Explorer is down to be every other week from Corfu for 2017 on the Dream according to port schedules, so if they do reinstate the Italian itinerary, it would work perfectly for your plans.

  12. I see most of the Louis fleet up for sale but nothing on Spirit, also notice P,O Oriana for sale , do you think MAJ and Spirit are are here for summer 2018 or finish end of summer 2017.

Rumour is is that Louis are now looking at new builds.

Just as TUI say goodbye to Louis, they then start to invest in brand new ships. :(
