If you have it, looking for your experience with the Cloud 9 Spa on the Vista (specifically the thermal suites and therapy pool). We've experienced the Splendor, Dream and Magic Cloud 9, all great with Splendor probably our favorite. I've heard the Vista spa is a bit different, but not much in terms of details. Really appreciate any insight!
Cheers!

I hope the pods will work. I hear they're delicious!

But in all seriousness, so sorry to hear that happened. I do hope you give cruising another shot, we've been sailing for 11 years and always enjoy it. I don't know that I've heard of something like this on any of my sailings, so while rare, I can only imagine the aggravation.

Can we all just agree that the most important lesson learned from this whole thing is... don't wear underwear?

This thread blows.
Well, at least the responses haven't been long winded.

Don't know if you have any interest (or if it's even still offered), but the wife and I rented a standard cabana on Half Moon when we were there in 2010. There were 2 float mats and snorkel gear included. It was wonderful!

Cruised Freedom a few years back. Great ship, wonderful crew -- especially at the Alchemy bar. Overall would sail her again without hesitation.
-
I'm going to add they've also ruined the "standard bar experience" after sailing on ships with the Alchemy Bar. Also a big fan of the Red Frog Pub (specifically the full pub, with food and all).
Always look forward to Red Frog and Alchemy!

My bar tab has gone up significantly since sailing with Alchemy my last 2 cruises.
The first time I sailed on an ship with Alchemy, the mixologists wouldn't let me order off menu, learned my tastes, and everything was fantastic. In fact, when I insisted on ordering off the menu, they'd tweak to my tastes specifically -- it was awesome!
In addition, it's just a fun, friendly place to be. Looking forward to spending all my booze money there again this year!:D

Is this a little disappointing? Yeah. I've been able to enjoy (yes I did enjoy) the past guest, then VIFP party for the past 6 years. Now, I suppose it's something to look forward to in three years based on how frequently we're able to cruise.
That said, I'm happy sailing with Carnival, and am pretty sure I will continue to be so.
If I can be so bold, to me the most bothersome part of the whole ordeal is the stipulations put on the drink coupon. I'm happy it made a comeback. That said, it's almost insulting putting conditions on it that say "we're doing SOMETHING....but we really don't want you all to use it".
Just my $.02. Regardless of party, free drink, all of the above or none, I've always had a blast, excellent service, and not broken the bank in the process. Seems ok to me.

We've stayed in a spa interior on deck 11 -- loved it and the cloud 9 amenities. Just be sure you're not under something that could be too noisy.
If I can ask, any particular reason you'd prefer a lower deck?
-
Those would be neat!

Here's a good one from Sargent_Schultz -- Within past couple years and gives a before and after 2.0 look of he ship. Enjoying it myself right now!

What's something that Carnival used to sell, but don't carry any longer you wish they did?
OR....what's something that you'd love to see in the shops that isn't?
I love the Tervis Tumblers I got a couple years back at the Blue Iguana and Red Frog bars...they're just too small. I wish they carried the big ones!!

I still vote Valor with some lovely Orlando theme park action with the savings!

Hello Tapi!
Frequent lurker, occasional poster here.
I didn't cast a vote, because I can most certainly see it both ways. I've sailed on both the Dream and Magic, love the ships and the spa...ahhhhmazing. I will be sailing on the Freedom soon and am really excited for the full 2.0 experience.
That said -- Sailing for the ship, Breeze wins hands down.
However, if it were me....$1750 isn't pocket change, and I know I'll have a blast just being on a ship with my loved ones. I would probably book the Valor, and "invest" in more fun things, excursions, chef's table, spa stuff...maybe a day or two at Disney or Universal on the back end of the trip with the kiddos? SURPRISE!!! :D
Just spit ballin' here...

We have only seen this on one of our cruises, Liberty summer of 2010. Definitely NOT for those who are easily (or maybe even not easily) offended.
There were more body parts flying around than at a Black Friday sale at the mannequin store.
It was a blast.

Do you get access to all these areas if you purchase a spa service??
Do you mean if you get a massage (or something like that) do you get access to the thermal suite and thellasso pool? Last I knew nope -- only way to get access to those is to have a spa cabin (spa passes for the 1st two adults in the room included) or to buy a day or week pass.

For all the Escargots fans -- the MDR is tasty, for sure -- I may be a little more a fan of the Brioche Escargots in the Steakhouse.
Speaking of steakhouse, the beefsteak tomato with Gorgonzola crumbles stinking delicious!

No food comes to mind for me, but the chef's table really elevated my expectations for fine dining. :) Simply amazing.
I agree -- did it three summers ago, simply amazing.
Have you been able to do the newest menu (rollout started within past few months)?
-
Hello my cruise critic friends! With the 2.0 upgrades more widespread, and the ongoing new menu rollout....thought I might try and revive this one in anticipation of our shortly upcoming Freedom cruise!
So....anything so "awful" I just have to have it?
-
You can read about my complete review of the Chef's Table with the new menu here:
Thank you! Looks great. What was your favorite part of the experience? Favorite main dish?

Fantastic pics! Looks amazing.
Thermal Suite and Thalassotherapy Pool day pass?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Yes-ish. We've done the cloud 9 on a few different ships, there are two different "dry heat" rooms and two different steam rooms, the thalassotherapy pool is pretty much a big hot tub. The wife and I love the pool and the tepidarium, which is a lower temperature sauna, but has heated loungers to lay on. It's been really nice, and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
