Looking at a Cruise in Jan 2019. Fare is pretty awesome, but only has a small OBC.
Drink package would add another $350ish to the cost. At first I was thinking of booking this, but once you factor in the drink package, it might be better to cruise with a diff line. But if RC has promo's every once in a while where they offer the package, I might wait.
Thanks,
M

thanks for the responses. was able to book on the starboard side. Life is good.

There is a sweet deal available on Equinox. Only available cabins are deck 3 3111 and a few more further forward.
Not sure about noise.
Any ideas?
It is on hold for another few hours, Need to decide asap.
Thanks in advance.
Mark.

No never heard much noise at all. Definitely not any from above. Casino is carpeted and not a lot of moving things around. Unlike if you are under the pool deck or Ocean View Cafe and they are moving tables and chairs around.
Is that the only outside cabin available on deck 3?
There are a few on deck 7 (VERY forward).
One on Deck 6 (all the way forward)
There are several on deck 3 available. Midship-forward, both port and starboard. 3068 is pretty close to midship so I was looking at it. There are some others under the Photo Gallery and the Studio a little further forward.
Deck 2 has some as well, although I am hesitant about booking at the lowest deck. I like lower (seasickness...) but I have heard it can be pretty rowdy in staff cabins.

...and the noise from people walking above isn't disruptive?
-
There is no smoking in the casino on any Celebrity Ship. We have been in 3062 (Inside Cabin) and have never had any problems.
OMG really? that is amazing!!! I did not know that.
-
Never sailed Celebrity before.
Looking to surprise wife with a cruise in January. Found what looks like a pretty good deal for an oceanview (3068). Looks like the cabin is directly under the entrance to the casino.
Can anyone offer thoughts as to if the cigarette smell will permeate down to us, or the noise will be disruptive at night?
Thanks,
M

Cruise more often.
We're so low maintenance, it actually bothers us to have someone "wait upon" us. We're capable of making our own dining reservations (or eating in the MDR, if needed). We like seeing other people, so we don't need a dedicated restaurant. If we have to wait 5-10 minutes for a table at a restaurant, we're comfortable with our own company to handle that. I'm fat, and if I don't get chocolate-covered strawberries or M&Ms every afternoon, it's no great loss. The perks would be wasted on us.
I will say the only thing that might make us consider a Haven room would be if the Haven area were kid-free, and I'm not even convinced of that.
For us, the getting away is the vacation; maybe we're just not pamperable!

You have echoed my sentiments exactly.

is there any beach area in Cabo that can be used without paying a hefty "resort fee"?

From Canada... using our data plans in USA means our cell phone provider puts the screws to us....
is there free wifi when we get off the ship to order an Uber?
FYI - I have never used Uber before (don't generally have cause to take cabs...
do you need to use the app when done the ride also? (meaning will I need wifi at the end of the ride?)
thanks,
-
Uber and Lyft are both available at either the San Pedro Cruise Terminal or if you are arriving at the Long Beach Terminal, they are there also. They usually run approximately 40% less than cabs.
Silly question... but these are Uber and Lyft drivers that are just waiting on non-booked fares right?
Being from Canada, I can't use my data while in the USA or I will get a nice surprise when I get home.... so my choices are to pre-book a shuttle or take a cab... or... if Uber or Lyft is available not pre-arranged.. I can do that.
Another silly question... since I have never used either Uber or Lyft ... they take cash right? Don't need to use mobile app to pay by paypal or something?
Finally.... last silly question for right now... the approximate cost of Uber/Lyft on a Sunday morning to get from San Pedro to an LAX area hotel?
thanks.

Thanks for the replies folks. Much appreciated. There is a quality shop here in Ontario, but I have to drive a few hours away to get there. Anytime I get to Toronto I get suckered in to spending a few hundred. :)

Going to be in San Pedro for a day before our cruise.
Wondered if there are any good hat shops in the area.
I am not talking ball caps or the kind of fedora's I can buy at Walmart.
Looking for good quality felt, paper or straw fedora's or trilby's.
Thanks

question about the USS Iowa.
We were in Houston last year for a cruise and visited the USS Texas. Would this be a situation of "seen one, seem 'em all"?
-
I looked into the Sunseeker Tours option too.
We are going to be disembarking in about 3 weeks and this looked like a great option.
However...
I found a Groupon for the tour: https://www.groupon.com/deals/sunseeker-tours-1#tips
and figured I would call them to confirm availability. When I asked about the process of using the groupon the response I got from Sean (apparently the owner) was: "No Groupon seats are available on that week due to busy season"
Suffice it to say that no matter how good their tour is they can shove it up their backsides. No where in the terms and conditions on the Groupon does it say the offer is unavailable during a so called busy season. I think this is a bait and switch.
Just thought everyone should know.

anyone on NCL Jewel from San Pedro to Mexican Riviera March 5 2017?
-
You're starting to lose me here. Might be time to wrap it up. ;)
While the description and details are different for each port, it is like I am reading the same review over and over again.
I admit it was cute for the first few, now it feels as though OP is just looking for attention.

My wife was on the Gem last month and tells me that La Bistro was amazing. Cagney's was good, but not great. Apparently I make a steak just as good as they do, if not better.

Confirmed... the 3.5 star Express Deal on Priceline is Crowne Plaza.
Thanks for your guidance.
-
There are, for all intent and purpose, five hotels in San Pedro: The Crowne Plaza, the Doubletree, the Best Western, the Vagabond and the Sunrise. There is also an America’s Best Value Inn which is technically not in San Pedro but in Rancho Palos Verdes—but right across Western Avenue from San Pedro. Aside from these six, there may be a few other places a google search might find which will say “hotel” but which really don’t qualify as a place any tourist would venture to stay—for various reasons.
Of those six, only the Crowne Plaza and Doubletree are very well recommended—both have, in the past, rated 3.5 stars on Priceline. After those, the Best Western gets decent reviews but is not as nice a hotel and not in as good a location. Neither the Vagabond nor the Sunrise get very good reviews.
#1 could be either the Crowne Plaza or the Doubletree. #2 might be that Hotwire has downgraded one of them...or that they've raised the Best Western to 3 stars. Those 2 star hotels are likely the Vagabond and Sunrise.
With those prices Option #1 should be a no-brainer.
So in your "professional" opinion there is no way the Best Western is the 3.5 star?, and option #1 is either Crowne or Doubletree.

Any idea how many hotels are in San Pedro?
I am looking to book for March 2017 before our cruise.
It seems the two nicest hotels are Crowne Plaza and DoubleTree.
Hotwire shows only 4 hotels in San Pedro:
1. A 3.5 Star hotel for $131 + taxes and fees =$165.02 CAD per night taxes and fees in. (97 USD +tax/fee). I suspect that is Crowne Plaza... but not certain.
2. A 3 Star for 186 CAD+ taxes and fees (138 USD). I suspect this is Double Tree.
3 and 4 - a couple of 2 stars $132 and $105 respectively (98 and 78 USD).
I have been told that some parts of San Pedro are a little sketchy, so I was hoping to get input from someone who knows San Pedro better me and may have booked these before.
Anyone?
Caribbean ports changed due to storm damage?

We are scheduled to go to St. Maarten in January on the Equinox.
I understand the island is pretty much leveled. What is the likelihood Celebrity will choose another island?
Has this happened before to anyone?
