  1. I just had to share. Whenever I think of our trip, I think of the time Fabrizio took us to the key hole. It was just a wall like a fort with a door. I asked what are we doing here? He said, "Pat-ritz-zia! (Patricia), when you look in the hole, you will say MAMA MIA that is the best thing my eyes have ever saw." I said huh? and he said, "oh, you will say "MY GOD that is the most amazing thing I've ever seen." So after looking through the hole, I said, "Mama Mia…" :)

  2. Another thanks for the review here. One question to add...

Quote "Ashley pointed at a blue little house looking restaurant about 2 blocks away and said they had best food in town"

Do you recall the name of this place in Skagway next to the burnt down place? I am always intersted in the TripAdvisor top rated places like Tracy's in Juneau, but I love local recommendations even more. Our Pearl cruise will be spending a LONG day in Skagway, and anything to help it along after hiking the area trails would be nice to know about.

I just found it. It's called Stowaway Cafe. Here's the Tripadvisor link.

    Enjoy!!

  3. Ok... which Keratin Express treatment did you use? Your hair looks great but there are a lot of options online! Or was it a professional salon treatment?

    Thanks for the compliment! :)

It was done in a salon. I believe he used Coppola brand. I would highly recommend getting it done by a reputable salon. The first one I had done, the girl didn't know what she was doing and fried some parts of my hair by having the iron too high for color treated hair. The one I get done now is done by a man that certifies all Colorado stylists to do this treatment. Also according to him, the product between the full Brazilian and Express is the same. It's the length of time it's left on your hair. For the full treatment, at the salon it's left on your hair for about half an hour longer than the Express treatment and also with the full, you don't wash your hair for 3 days instead of the 24 hours with the Express.

If you decide to do this, take before and after pictures and post them as well as your experience on the thread titled, "Vain woman needs help with horrible cruise hair".

    Thanks!

  4. You will absolutely LOVE this owners suite. As soon as we entered our cabin, we wished the cruise was longer than 5 days.....:) And, our friends were in 1334, and they didn't really notice the bathroom noise. Enjoy your cruise--a Med cruise is still on my bucket list, would love it to be on Liberty in 1340! I don't know if I will ever be as fortunately as to get that kind of an upgrade deal again, but here's hoping.....

Thank you!! 47 more days and we're off! :)

  5. I am so grateful I found your review.

I booked a GS last year for our upcoming Med Cruise on LOS. Just like you, I am a cabin hopper. Last week noticed that the RFS and OS were the same price as what I paid for the GS. Thinking the AFT would be great, I switched to deck 8 RFS. After reading horrible reviews, I called this morning and changed to deck 9 RFS. I've wanted to do the OS, but read terrible things about the bathroom noise from someone that stayed in 1334.

Then I saw a couple of comments that it shouldn't be the same problem in 1340 and called 20 minutes later to switch to this cabin.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Your review has given me reassurance. Plus, had I switched to the OS several months ago when I was first considering it, it would have been $1500 more per person ($3000 more for us).

We're celebrating my hubby's 50th birthday and I just want everything to be awesome for him.

  6. She is a good camera, I think by far the best point and shoot camera ever produced. But I am still uncertain if I want to ditch my NEX for her. It simply does not compare to the nex, mainly because of the sensor type and size. I guess it comes with the size factor of the camera. I am planning to do a photo shoot on July 14 if the weather cooperates. I will post the pictures on Facebook.

No no no!!! Don't talk about another camera. I loved your pictures so much I went and bought the nex-f3. Lol!

  7. I wonder if that is another difference between the 2 types of S6's. The OP stated that the living room area looked smaller than pictures she had seen. If the S6 suites have the same sq. footage, maybe the ones on decks 11 and 14 have larger bedrooms and the others have larger living room areas. This is "pure speculation," but maybe as more information on comes in we can determine if that is the case or not.

I was wondering the same thing. But that's ok, I'm still excited!

  8. I was booked in room 13902 AFt Pentouse Suite

    Cabin is 419 sq feet

    Balcomy is 236 sq feet

    total 655 sq feet

I just called and 3 additional AFT Penthouses opened up for the date Im cruising (10/20/13)

    Cabin 14872

    Cabin 419 sq feet

    balcony 257 sq feet

I was able to change cabins to #9916 which appears to be the largest!

    Cabin 419 sq feet

    balcony 405 square feet

    total 824 square feet!

    Big difference! :)

HUGE!! Enjoy that 9th deck! :)

Yes, I got lots of bad info from my PCC that day, but I'm now on deck 12.

  9. Aurora - I finally found you! Been watching for you to post on the Alaska boards to hear how your trip was, but more importantly;) to hear how you made out with your hair issues. So glad you addressed that in your review and glad to hear your hair behaved itself! Yay!

Thanks so much for the review, I loved reading it and looking at all your photos. We too just returned from 17 days in AK (land only trip) and I must say we had spectacular weather the entire time (I personally think we brought it with us and all those folks in the Denali, Matanuska Glacier, and Homer area where we stayed should be thanking us:D!). It was truly the trip of a lifetime for us - and we're already planning our next trip back to the Great Land. So pleased all went well for you and your family. Thanks again for the review - great job!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip as well. Sounds like you had quite a vacation! Alaska is truly an amazing place!!

If you were following the hair thread, I posted on there as well. And yes, it behaved itself! LOL!
