  1. This has been gone through quite a bit on CC.

There are cutbacks fleet wide and I witnessed it on Escape week before Christmass.

'Alcohol choices have been limited and prices have gone up from beer and wine to liquor.

The special restaurants are restricting appetizers and removing pricier items from there menu.

Someone just posted the following on another thread:

“Just as a heads up ... my husband, who is also a beer snob, was sorely disappointed with the District's supply during our last sailing on the Bliss in Nov.  They were nearly out of all their taps as soon as we got on the ship :(.  By the end of the sailing, not only were all their taps blown, but they also had run out of nearly all their bottles as well.  Our cruise wasn't even sailing full.”

This may not be a one off. I was just on the escape and the District brew house had a third of what they offered a couple of years before. It was not that they were out of the items I asked for they were not offering them anymore. None of the European beers were being offered though out the ship. 16 oz domestics are gone only 12 oz now. The liquor offerings were like half of what I am used to seeing.

No Captain morgens I did not see Bailys anywhere. Crown was a 1$ upcharge. only 2 prosecco's available and not many wines included in the basic package.

    Agreed.

But, NCL being NCL, I can't help but think it's only a matter of time before they extend those Latitudes terms to FAS too.  So, I give @fethiyeden the benefit of the doubt and ask for the actual FAS terms they were referring to.

I believe they are all the same now. Even with FAS they were firm at every restaurant that you could not get multiple apps.

Sad to see that the upchage moved from the Tomahawk to the Porterhouse (which is what we would order).

I was off the Escape right before Christmas the upcharge was not there yet but my Porterhouse was horrible. I never had one that bad. Everyone else ordered Fillet or Ribeye there steaks were good. They should just take the Porterhouse off the menu if they have to charge for a 20 OZ  steak.

For a long time, waiters have said that there are restrictions and now the restrictions are in writing BUT has anyone actually been charged extra for extra items? 🤔

They just refused to give you anything extra.

Waiters always have asserted these restrictions (even pre-pandemic), but it was never in the terms and conditions and we have always ordered multiple appetizers. Now that the cruise line has inserted the restriction into the Terms and Conditions, we have no basis for asking for more free.

They were strict on this on the Escape I was just on. All of the special dining. One thing I really had to laugh at was the pizza in the Italian restaurant is now a main course and it looked the same as the buffet pizza.

No explanation for sides Cagney’s Steakhouse?  2 sides Ocean Blue.  Bliss menu 12/22 Cagney $20 supplement porterhouse, and discontinue tomahawks.

I would not pay the $20 for the porterhouse I had it on the escape it was included but it was the worse steak I have had in years. All the Fillets ordered were good.

  8. Just got off Escape Dec 24 it is still a 1$ upcharge.

I must say that when I ordered it half the time they charged me the other half they did not.

In specialty dining they did not charge for included wine for the folks that did not have the drink package cause some of us did have the package.

A side note when they did charge for something I ordered that had a upcharge they acted very awkward like they ran over your dog.

Every thing seems be turning into a package now. I do not know if this is a good or bad thing.

  9. MCM describes the Vibe quite well.

I have been in the Vibe several times and I am going to be in there next week if all goes well.

My wife and I have always enjoyed it. The main reason I enjoy it is no standing in lines by the main pool or H2O for a drink, no crowded bathrooms and there are plenty of areas to lounge.

Sometimes there is music and sometimes folks will bring in a speaker which we love music so all good.

The bar tenders are great and they really cater to you and keep you entertained.

I have had the passes for Vibe before where some in my group have not. when they wanted the high energy stuff around the pool or H2O I would go there for a hour then go back in the Vibe as a retreat from the huge crowds.

Just got of the Escape and they were in the process of changing over from Pepsi to Coke products.

Been waiting for some one to chime in on the Escape getting Coke asked a few times with no response. So hopefully by next week the conversion will be over.

One thing I always had a hard time finding was gatoraid or poweraid. 1 spot I did find it was in the kids game room in a vending machine. They also had hard to find soda in there too.

  11. As I recalled speaking to the NCL Rep. You can sign your kid up for beer in wine 18 and up with out them getting the corks and caps package. Is this true?

We have a large group and some of the 19 and 20 year old do not want to buy the beer and wine package (They want to pay per drink) and they are in rooms with 21 and older folks that have the standard drink package.

I have been on over 20 cruises but I have not sailed in 3 years. And as you all know rules change and the NCL Reps sometimes do not tell you the right answer.

From what I've learned elsewhere, we are able to use the pool if we want to.  Drinks are expensive.  I just learned the Escape is docking in Amber Cove the week of 12/24, but I've also heard that is still up for debate.

The 24th-the 31st? I hope its not the week before.
