We are on the Escape this Saturday.  I happened to look on NCLs site at our sailing, and they are currently not booking for next week.  This is what you see at first:

But when you click on a room category, you get this:

Really hoping our cruise is not cancelled!

Just my opinion, but i believe booking is probably closed because it is too close to the sailing date.

Very interesting if this is indeed the case.  In the current environment, when something gets cancelled (as our performances of Six were on the Bliss a few weeks ago) everybody goes right to COVID.  You'd think they'd do a better job of communicating that the reason was contractual, not medical, to prevent panic from setting in.

Just did a little research, I can’t find anything on line about union issues in New York. 🤷‍♂️

  3. Now I am confused, I was under the impression testing was done at the pier and pre testing before you arrived was not necessary.

Does anyone that has sailed on NCL have the correct answer?

We are sailing out of New Orleans, if that makes a difference.

On our Edge cruises there was no sea pass noise. X used facial recognition from the passengers photos uploaded prior to boarding, so when getting on or off the ship there was total silence. It's kind of weird.

    What! No "DING"!

We should start a petition to bring back the ding. That's a welcome aboard thing.

    We want our Ding

    We want our Ding

    😂

  5. Help us understand what’s going on here, Celebrity unlike Royal will not be conducting test cruises, is that correct? We are concerned that if the test cruises fail, Royal will be back at square one with the CDC. We have the Explorer of the Seas booked for July and are considering canceling and sailing on the Equinox. Should we be concerned? The Florida governor is another issue!

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was quoted by WFTS on Thursday in response to Celebrity's plans, "Companies doing business in Florida, including Celebrity Cruises, should immediately cease to impose such discriminatory policies upon individuals. Companies that violate this law would be subject to a fine of $5,000 each time they require a customer to present a 'vaccine passport' for service."

Will someone in the industry please answer the question, does the governor have the authority to tell them how to run their business!

According to MarineTraffic, the Carnival Fantasy is going to Izmir, Turkey. This all but confirms that the ship will be scrapped at a Turkish scrapyard, with Aliaga being the most likely candidate. An announcement will likely be coming from Carnival Corp within the next few weeks confirming the sale as the ship will be in Turkey by the end of the month.

My wife and I have had this conversation a number of times. You can not keep your distance from other passengers on a plane no matter how hard you try. There is so much more available space on a ship.
That’s why are next three cruises are drivable ports. We wouldn’t fly until June 2021 for a cruise from Copenhagen.

    Sorry wrong thread. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Read an article that most people aren’t wearing masks on planes or social distancing. That rules are not enforced. Funny how the CDC pounced on cruise lines but the airlines are just business as usual.

  10. Just my opinion, but we just had to go thought the ordeal of canceling a Transatlantic cruise. My local travel agent walked me through the process and we received our 125% FCC and a full refund from British Airlines. My point here, is maybe it’s time to find a local guy who will work for you, and not the cruise line. We are originally from the St. Louis area, I know there should be plenty to choose from.

At the moment we're interested in the following 4, so far:

Spirit: Dubai to Singapore (4 India and one Sri Lanka ports plus Thailand and Malaysia), Nov 22, 2021

Star: Antarctica, Jan/Feb 2022 (but not Jan 2021 - too soon - we're waiting for the vaccine)

    Star: Greenland, July 14, 2022

Spirit: Singapore to Hong Kong with no less than 4 Vietnam ports, Oct 21,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I must say Antarctica on the Star does sound very interesting. We also understand how you feel about the Dawn. We did a TA on the Pearl, and expecting the same experience on the Dawn. We were disappointed.

I don't know if you have seen the whole 9 yards of new itineraries on NCL.com ... up to March 2023.

My head is spinning and hurting looking at them! Many brand new itineraries to the 4 corners of the globe.

Greenland, Antarctica, new embark/homeports, etc. Only thing missing is the World cruise on a single ship!

Since they put out all 2022 and part of 2023 itineraries out already (and early), I wonder about the rest of 2020 cruises .... are they going to go or be scrapped?

Just curious, what ships and itineraries has gotten your attention? We are always looking for new and different after 40 cruises.
