Ok, I'm not usually a fan of true inside rooms, but the idea of seeing Alaska while sitting in the warm pool or on a heated lounger would be a pretty awesome way to go. Would probably keep that swap.
Also figure it’s not the worst to be in a true inside with all the daylight in Alaska that time of year.

I probably wouldn't be happy with a 4K. The whole reason for a 4J was to have a view and easy access to that forward facing deck. The 4k's don't give either of those things.
That said, I understand why Carnival would consider it an equivalent, and wouldn't be angry. I will be looking to switch/upgrade if that's the case though. However, I have a year and a half to figure that out, which makes my situation a bit easier than some.
Not Freedom to Spirit, but we’re Freedom to Splendor, we were moved from our 4J (and the same cabin exists on Splendor) to a 4S. I was sort of annoyed because we wanted the window and deck access, but I guess we’ll just observe from the warmth of the spa now instead. I called my PVP the day our bookings were available to them and our original cabin wasn’t even available to move to.

So does anyone know what’s actually going on here because I’m confused as hell. Are all the Spirit sailings new and the Freedom ones were just switched to Splendor? We’re also in a 4J on now Splendor and super glad it worked out that way, I’m just trying to make sense of this..

So I called today and I'm totally confused as to the amount of my credit, we paid $639/pp for the first two passengers, $249 for our third passenger. How is it that we only have $319.50 in credit? Does only one person get the 50% credit? I tried asking but didn't really get what I considered a sufficient answer. Any help?

Assuming so. The email didn't have many details.

When did they send it to you? I haven't gotten it yet
4:20 yesterday afternoon. Are you the main contact on the booking? I am and I think was the only one in our group who received it, the rest got robocalls but no email.

I got a robo call yesterday about the cruise being canceled. It also said to look for an email about booking the future cruise at 50% off. Did anyone get that email?
I did. Attached it.

Hopefully we will hear from NCL soon too
I've been refreshing nonstop.

Supposed to sail Friday out of Miami. Here for updates. Waiting to see what NCL has to say in about twenty minutes.
-
Your sailing is an unusual case. Out of Miami, for 3 days, is challenging. Typically they will try to adjust one day departing... not a huge deal on a 7 day or longer cruise. But 3 days leaves no wiggle room. Both the departure and return dates are threatened.
I actually predict they will cancel so the ship is ready for its next sail date after the storm. Watch your email and your MyNCL every few hours. Call NCL tomorrow starting at noon and be polite but firm requesting an answer. If you fly you get no refund on the flight from Trip Insurance.
Yeah.. so I'm kind of a pushover. You wanna call them for me tomorrow? Haha. I really REALLY don't want to fly to Miami Thursday if this cruise gets canceled. I have an 8:15am flight and need to leave my house around 4:40am so I have no time in the morning to see how things pan out. Worst case scenario we rent a car and drive back to Atlanta where one of the girls lives and all get ourselves home from there. Sigh. F'ing Irma.
-
Yep. There is no getting around this sucker with its trajectory.
-
And we're officially a category 5. I don't see how we could possibly get to Cozumel even. This is going to end up being a cruise to nowhere. If it's a cruise to anywhere.

- Go ahead a put a spin on this one. You who said cruises are NEVER canceled
Disney Dream
- The October 3 sailing of the Disney Dream is being extended by one day, as Port Canaveral will not be available for the ship’s scheduled arrival on Friday, October 7. We are now planning to disembark in Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 8, once the Coast Guard has determined that the port is safe for cruise ship operations. We are working with the guests onboard to assist them with their travel arrangements.
- The October 7 sailing of the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral is being cancelled. Refunds will automatically be processed back to the original form of payment used for cruise bookings. Guests are invited to call us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 beginning Monday, Oct. 10, to book a future cruise at a discount.
Ugh. Can we not? Can we just keep this to Irma updates for this sailing please?

We're going on this cruise for a bachelorette party. At this point we're at "as long as the booze is flowing, we don't care where we're going," mode. Aka survival mode.

September 8 we leave out of Miami for a 3 day cruise on the NCL Sky to the Bahamas. Or so I hope anyway. I can't imagine they would still have this cruise. I'm hoping they change ports to embark and disembark from and a different itinerary.
I sent them a message and the reply I got was:
Hi we are closely monitoring the storm and will provide an update once available.
I just called my PCC a little while ago. Got the standard "we still don't know where the storm is going" line. I think we're screwed. There's literally nowhere they can send us in the amount of time we have. Hoping we know by Wednesday. If the cruise is canceled I am not flying to Miami Thursday.

The crew doesn't know anything right now. And Irma continues to change paths as a major hurricane.
NCL does a very good job in keeping its guests safe and comfortable. Guest don't always appreciate this. Last year, there was a near riot on the Breakaway when the captain changed itinerary after embarkation.
If Irma continues on its most likely path, it will be directly over the Bahamas on Saturday as a major hurricane. Today
May be the last Sky visit to GSC for a few weeks.
Yes.. this is what we figured. Going for a bachelorette party. We figure worst case scenario we hang in Miami as long as we can, best case scenario, were on a ship with an open bar. Our attitude has kinda been as long as the booze is flowing, we don't care where we're going!

Hi there! Thanks for doing this - I'm supposed to be on this sailing this coming Friday, any chance you could get your feelers out for me and see if they seem to have any idea what the plan is with Irma? Thanks so much!

Our last 8 day cruise I think we came in around $750 for the two us? Excursions were paid for prior to the cruise, we're moderate drinkers, I'm a moderate gambler, we did eat at the steakhouse one night. Didn't buy any pics, a couple small souvenirs, I think that was it...

Thank you for posting the picture, it is a major pet peeve of mine when I read the posts where people list a room number and then expect people to go to the royal website and search for their ship, then look up the deckplan, just to see where the dang room is even at.
Haha, I hear you! We're all moved out to 8641, looks like it should be a quieter location. :)
-
Thanks! I should be able to switch no problem... we're not sailing till February. Boooo. When we had problems it was on Carnival, we could hear the stewards rolling their carts out & the door slamming behind them early every morning.
-
Hi all! I was just looking at deck plans & hoping someone could help me out - we're booked on Brilliance in cabin 9509, after looking I'm a little worried as to what this blank spot is next to our cabin. We've had the "privilege" (ha) of being next to a stewards closet before and I'm thinking that may be what this is, if it is I'll switch rooms. I circled the area to avoid any confusion.

Don't know about New Jersey but around here that brand is available almost everywhere, no need to order online unless you're getting a big discount.
You are absolutely correct! Found it in Ulta, I'll be heading there after work. One case where Amazon is not cheaper.
