  1. we just got back and used Rory's Windmill tours for an exceptional day (I reviewed him in another post for Windmill Tours)...we were a group of 7 and there was another group of 8 with his partner.

Excellent tour to Windmills and surrounding areas...

You can find him by googling the name:cool:

  2. Well, the reason I asked is because of what I read that John Grantham recently got off the Equinox and is taking a break then heading to the Eclipse...so that's where I found that info.

And, many many of the cruises I've done we've been able to coordinate with the CD or at least obtain info from them...

Even if it's a week or so out...just for planning for the cc get togethers to organize our tours!:D

  3. We will be sailing on Eclipse June 4th out of Southampton.

Just saw where John Grantham might/should be the CD on our sailing and we were wondering, in our cc roll call, if there's a way to find out when the M&M will be? We have 7 days in port before the first sea day...I know that scheduling the M&M is always a challenge when there's no sea days up front!;p

Does anyone have contact info for him???

  4. Would love to hear your thoughts on the cruise...how was it?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

    The cruise was excellent!

I had 7 cabins in my group so everywhere we went everyone knew we were the 'group of 14 girls'!

Service was excellent, food was good....we asked the Head Waiter on the second day if we could do a galley tour as quite a few in my group had never done one, the next morning they had it set up for us!

The deck BBQ was incredible...food there was really good but sadly at around 8:15 (was scheduled from 7-9) the skies opened up and poured!!!

Food at Candles (alternate restaurant, no upcharge) was very nice, they did it outside at the back patio with candlelight...wonderful.

Loved the ports and the Prickly Pear event was great too...they took all the food off the ship and did a nice BBQ, again the skies opened up  but quite a few of the lounges on the beaches had pop up's on them so many huddled until the rain stopped (10 min at most).

Having done all my cruising on the big ships I really enjoyed this one and we'll definitely be back as a group....;)

  5. Sorry.

    Not

Nope, I even talked to the guy in charge of activities on this ship. It's actually a different part of the island and prickly pear is the only place that tenders will go. It's totally secluded but we did go there and have a wonderful day! The food was incredible, they brought all the water goodies with them and set up some really nice sheltered lounge chairs on the beach. So, we'll just have to go back again on another ship to do the baths!

  6. I'm thinking you're sailing, we just got back!

There's taxi's at the port when you tender, they'll take you on a great tour. We were 6 and it was $20 pp for a full tour of the island...

Hope you get this in time! ;)

  7. Just got back, had a group of 14 and did a wonderful food tour with Spoon Food Tours....they drove us all over and took us to some wonderful local places...food selections were fun and interesting, did 5-6 stops and at the end we were stuffed!!!

  8. Last year we docked in Tortola (bigger ship)

We walked over to the marina, hired two boats to take us to Virgin Gorda for $25 each (I think) and when we arrived at Virgin Gorda took a taxi (or they took us) to the top of the baths...we did it ourselves had an awesome time.

I'm used to the cruise lines telling us the only way is using their services...have always gone against the tide...isn't that the benefit of being on here..to get that info?

  9. So I called Windstar to inquire if we are able to go ashore to enjoy the island on our own and they said yes...I asked a couple of ways and they said absolutely...I have 14 in my group and was planning to take them to the baths (those that didn't go last year) so hoping I can pull this off...

I'll try to remember to post results either way!

  10. Just spotted this thread.

We are leaving on Star Legend next Sat, I have 14 on this cruise and was planning a DIY to the baths as we went there last year from Tortola but are they truly NOT allowing us to tender ashore and do our own thing???

  11. We are returning on the Celebrity Summit Sunday 10/2/16, what is earliest flight out we could schedule and not be stressed?

    We're sailing with you!

I just redid my flight as United keeps changing the time and making it earlier!

I just moved to a 1:30 flight...so shouldn't be too hard to get out of there???

  12. Try Leon (mypersonaldriver@hotmail.com).

He does fantastic service, picked us up at FLL and delivered us to Miami Hotel in a beautiful new van..we were able to message him on our cruise and request multiple 'deliveries' upon our return:from the cruise port took one to Miami airport, one to FLL and one to West Palm!:p

He's very responsive and easy to work with! (847) 602-0125

    Also responds to texts!
