Lori & Andie,
I was on the Breakaway to Bermuda in August last year. Yes, the pools are crowded. Doubt ANY ship of similar class could handle all the guest to the point you'd feel like you were at a motel pool. Lines for the water slides weren't that bad. 5-10 mins though that was for the "adult" slides.
That being said, you are going to Bermuda! 3 days! Lots of beaches! Sure you'll hit the water at some point.
As for non-paying restaurants, I had no problems when I went though did dine early.
Would not hesitate to take the same ship/cruise again. Enjoy!

Usually there is no need for reservations as they have plenty of scooters. Rent for 2 days if you want. I rented one around 10:00 AM or so and returned on the 3rd day before 10. They have a drop off if you want to do that earlier so as to not be bothered on the next day. There is scooter parking right next to the ships. Works out well. Lock and go.

Not really as time is not on your side on the Bahamas cruise which is the opposite for Bermuda. Nice to have a couple days in one place should weather be a problem. The Bahamas one covers more ports, which suggests possibly more things for us to visit, but we are concerned the weather may be too cold.
My first cruise was to Bahamas. Second, Bermuda. Did more in Bermuda. Did more on the Breakaway also.
Going a cruise for the first time will be nice no matter which you pick. Good luck!

In 2013, major cruise lines are expected to welcome 17.6 million passengers — or more than double the number from just around a decade ago, according to the Cruise Lines International Association. On top of that, the lines also introduced new ships — 13 in 2012 alone and 167 since 2000. All that spells serious competition, with ships trying to offer adventures and amenities that set them apart from the rest. More...
Some might find this worth a read.

Saw that earlier on FB. Somebody did a great job and is a nice promo for NCL. Now, if I could only swing another cruise...

If I can't get any justice from Norwegian then maybe the law will help out as bait and switch is illegal in many states. Wish me luck!
Good luck. You'll need It! ;)

Look at my sig line and read my brief review. I almost canceled before the cruise and are glad I didn't. Was it perfect? No. Then again, most vacations aren't at some point or another for various reasons.
Good luck!

Ditto. Glad to read that you and yours finally got to sail the Breakaway and had a nice cruise "CruiseBear84" though Bermuda is a must see. -

Be interesting to read your review. A family friend was on the same cruise. Said they had a good time. Pricing for the cruise was certainly nice.

Was on deck 11 in August and on one or two nights, music could be heard with the sliding door closed. I REALLY have a problem with loud music, even when home but it wasn't something that ruined the cruise in the least.
Bottom line... would I book a AFT balcony on the Breakaway again. Probably. :)

Hope all turns out well for them.

A lot of times when a review is in progress, I tend to not leave a reply as I prefer to wait but never get back after that so I will say it now...
Nicely done review. Look forward to reading the rest. Thanks! :)
