I think it all depends on your “shape” but we found them so uncomfortable when we sailed on Onward. We were assured by Tony the Hotel Director they were temporary with the correct chairs being in a container in Shanghai

Surely if they were unable to find said container replacements should have been sourced by now.

I heard also heard Tony say that but that was the Xmas cruise back in 2022/23.

I'm a newbie to cruising, so can you tell me - if the ship is unable to dock and you have an excursion purchased through the cruise line, will you be refunded? I am going there on the NCL Jade on 3/19/24.  Any advice is appreciated! 🙂

    Yes.

My observation: often when things go wrong, and they get a lot of negative publicity, companies like to change the name.

If I were cynical, I would say they do this to drop the negative reputation, with out having to change anything.

After the carnival triumph floated around the gulf of mexico for a few days with out power...

    ...Carnival changed the ship name.

The ship is now the Carnival Sunrise.

They didn't change the name because of that incident.  Carnival changed the name of the Destiny to the Sunshine in 2013 following a major refit. Triumph underwent a similar refit in 2019.  Both came out as almost totally different ships thus the name change.

  4. I find this to be a very interesting and hopefully a positive move.

This will reunite Dondra and Dan who were with Celebrity when it was truly one of the best

premium cruise lines.  I think that they were there when Celebrity started the Azamara division.

The only thing that bothers us about the closet light is the lack of a switch for manual control. I hate it when I'm doing something in that area and the dang light suddenly turns off. Disabling it and not having any light available in that area is a non-starter for us.

The bedside lights, however, are truly annoying. They go off if the ship moves and the blanket moves. I usually just put one of the small bolster type pillows on the floor in front of the night stand and that solves the issue. I do have a supply of painter's tape wrapped around an old Popsicle stick if I decide to actually disable the things.

On Sky, I covered the closet light sensor with tape and found out that wall switch by the entrance door would turn the light on when we needed it. It was on a timer however.

I disembarked Sky at the end of May under the impression that I would be emailed a copy of my onboard account within 24 hours of disembarkation. As I had not received this I phoned some call centre somewhere in the world to ask for my final account and was told that it would take three weeks and sure enough within three weeks I received some incomprehensible printout of my account which I could not make any sense of and that is with having been an accountant in a previous life.

The main reason that I wanted a final account was because there was a large amount of credit owing to me which I naturally wanted back and the printout that I had from onboard was incorrect even though I was assured that there would be no problems.

Eventually I managed to contact somebody in guest relations who processed my refund.

Lo and behold I had an email this morning with my final account attached - three months after I disembarked!!!

    Is this normal?

We disembarked Sky May 27 and just rec'd ours as well.😏

Maybe they should go back to the old way when they actually delivered your statement to your cabin the last night.

Here’s the thing that NCL still has that Princess doesn’t…their ship, the Norwegian Spirit, is much like what the Pacific Princess was.  A unique ship built for another cruise line that is very different (and smaller) than the rest of the fleet and that sails to unique itineraries. We loved that ship. It was supposed to be sold a few years ago and wasn’t, and offers some wonderful itineraries (including the South Pacific next winter).

Pacific Princess is now the Azamara Onward.

I was on the Sky Princess 04/01/23 sailing.  We arrived into Southampton on 04/15/23.  This was a full sailing (to the brims at 3950 passengers) and there were so many groups.  The transfers to LHR all left at 09:50.

Below is the disembarkation group schedule from that sailing.  Hopefully it's legible.

    Very helpful, thanks.

Interesting that you are asked to meet at 7:45 but the bus didn't leave until 9:50. It seems

like the usual "hurry up & wait".
