  1. You can get all their beers at the Pointe Seraphine port, right at the end next to the Rum Shack. That's where they're mainly based. The brewery itself has absolutely nothing to see but the tanks.. So, if you want to enjoy the beers, if you're docked at Pointe Seraphine (single story shops), hang a left when you exit the secure area and walk to the end. If you're at La Place Caranage (two story shops), you can walk over around the end of the harbor - about 15 minutes, or take the water taxi right from pier to pier, drops right next to the brewery outlet runs continuously and costs $5USD pp

Thank you! We will look for them when we are in port!

  2. My husband and I just returned from our cruising experience on the Norwegian Epic and we had a fantastic experience with St. Thomas Food Tours. The tour guide, Girard was exceptionally informative and there was plenty of food. So much so that I couldn't finish my sample at the last location (it was all very good). I would look into their tour since it costs a little less than Flavors but the experience was worth it.

    Thank you for the info!

  3. Hello!

We will be in St Thomas in October and was thinking of doing the Flavors of St Thomas tour. We've been to St Thomas/St John's many times as was looking for something different to do! We aren't into shopping, have been to the beaches, snorkeled, etc. I'd love to go to Blackbeard's Castle and see the museum, but it appears that it's only open on Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll be there on a Thursday.

Anyway, if any of you have insight to this tour, please share. TIA, Sharon :)

  4. Ok, I have been to St Kitts before, we went to South Friars Beach which was fun.

We are cruising with another couple. Both young couples (young 30's) and trying to decide between Frigates Bay Beaches and Cockelshell Beach. We like it to be somewhat lively (a good beach bar or several), a place to get chairs, and just enjoy the beach.

Thoughts? Heard Reggae Beach Bar area at Cockelshell Beach is good...is the beach area big enough to not get too crowded? How about South Friars....seems to have more beach bars and a larger beach (looking on google maps)

We LOVE the Reggae Beach bar. If you like their page on social media and send them a message, they will shuttle you to and from the port to the beach and back.

The snorkeling from the beach is very good. We really enjoy the food and drinks. Very laid back. Love, love, love this place.

  5. Our neighbours in next door cabin went by local taxi/van with others, done dockside and said it was a waste of time and money.

Only the beach bar is there all the rest of location are shells just done up for the filming, for example the police station was a boarded up Wharehouse.

And quite a ride to get there.

Thanks for sharing this info, as we will be there and thought about the show...

  6. I am booked in CQ 10003 on Koningsdam Christening cruise next May 9. Usually don't spend that much, esp as songle payying double but heck, new ship, have a treat with spa cabin. The Hal personal cruise planner suggested it and said is really really large. Looking forward. Have had spa pass before but not spa cabin.

I have this cabin booked for the fall of 2017. How was it? Would you mind sharing a pic? Thanks!

  7. Thanks, everyone for your input. I guess I'll just have to wait and see the cabin when we board! Did a search, but nothing for Koningsdam oceanview spa cabins. Not a problem, we have a nice cabin and a window! We really don't need a yoga mat, though.

Did you go on your cruise? We have the exact same cabin booked this fall! Would love to get your input and a photo! Thanks!

  8. Couple of other thoughts...

On port days that are early, we order room service breakfast the night before. That way, we don't have to fight with the lines at the buffet and can sleep in a bit longer.

Bring a first aid kit that has advil, Imodium, tums, aloe, Neosporin/ band aids. You're going to be doing/eating different things. Sometimes you get blisters. Sometimes your stomach is going to be upset from the 4th lobster tail that you eat on formal night (snort).

Drink package - What I've found is that you have to drink ALOT every day to just break even. If you're a drinker, you can probably do this on sea days, but on port days, you're gone all day and you most likely aren't going to be drinking 6 drinks between dinner and bedtime every single night (maybe you will, but I know that's not for me). So odds are, you are better off paying for drinks as you go. By the end of the cruise, you almost feel obligated to get a drink, just because you paid for it. Don't forget, you'll be in the sun quite a bit (if it's the Caribbean) and you need to hydrate with plenty of water, too.

Steakhouse - if you go on the first night, you get a free bottle of wine. :)

  9. Okay ladies, I know that some of you are carry-on queens and some are proud over-packers, where do you fall on the packing jewelry scale? One pair of earrings for the whole cruise? a different set of jewelry for every day and evening? somewhere in-between?

Personally I like options, and I tend to pack extra jewelry so that I can make choices depending on how I feel at the time. I'm hoping to pack less this November, if for no other reason than weight of my luggage. :D

Just what I wear on the ship.... I do take a cheap watch to wear on excursions. That's it and that's all you really need.

  10. Hello cruise friends,

Thanks for always being so helpful!

I am booking a cruise for our family and extended family out of Galveston on the Liberty of the Seas, and am looking either cruising NEXT April or May (2018:loudcry:) OR September 3rd ish of this year.

Experienced cruisers, which timing would YOU pick???

Is "hurricane season" in full swing already by September? Is this a big concern? Which month has nicer weather?

Hi there! Go both times! Just kidding. Yes, September is in hurricane season, however, I've never had an issue when it comes to the weather. We are Floridians and like to cruise in Sept and Oct. It's off season and less expensive. Both May and Sept are nice times to cruise, mostly because there are less kids on the ships when school is in session. You should be fine with any of those months - I'd just avoid Easter week. Have fun!

  11. I am going on my first cruise in may, we booked at a travel agent and paid in full 2 weeks ago. We also paid for gratuities and travel insurance. The agent charged us the same price that was on the carnival website. My question is when i look on the carnival website now the price is a few hundred dollars less, is it possible to get a refund for the difference?

Probably not a refund, since you've paid in full, but perhaps an on board credit. Depends if it was booked as an early saver. Ask your travel agent. :)

  12. On the Conquest tonight and never have I heard so much door slamming on this cruise . No one knows how to close their door slowly and close it lightly so you don't hear it 10 doors down . Also the welcome aboard show was horrible. Been away from Carnival since 2013 and this probably our last cruise with them after 7 cruises. Cuts everywhere , Guys burgers is the only plus on this cruise so far!!

I agree about the door slamming. It' so annoying that we get oceanview rooms now, instead of balconies. People just drop the balcony doors instead of shutting them.

  13. We will be in St Martin for a day next week. It's supposed to rain most of the day. I cancelled my snorkeling tour with Capt Bob (great tour, but not with 18mph winds and rain)

So... ideas for something land based? We've been with Bernards tour. Great tour! Trying to avoid the beach, due to the weather.

    Thanks in advance!
