The same plane was in West Palm Beach when we were there a few weeks ago on a Celebrity package from Hamilton on the Silhouette. The plane was not a very big much smaller than the aircraft we were on. It must have come from Ottawa or Montreal for the same cruise.

Interesting development. When we went to book another package for next year the future cruise agent told me they were no longer going to be offering the packages from the East Coast of Canada. And now they tell me that they are only going to have one flight a week from Hamilton. I do not understand this move as the packages did very well here in Hamilton. I don't know what the marketing department is thinking.

Yes Gravol is the same thing and you can get it over the counter at any drug store. They have several different kinds. The best is ones with ginger in them. They do not make you drowsy.

We are planning a sail away party and just wanted to know. I enjoy the sail away with everyone on shore waving to people on the ship. A fun way to start ones cruise. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. It seems some people have said on previous cruises that they were still at muster drill until after the ship left port. It has never happened to us

Was the muster drill over in time for the sail away?

I know that they start to advertise it in our paper and on TV in the early summer. I think that I would consider where you would like to be on the ship. We book mid ship port side. It seems that the most desirable locations go first. I would talk to your TA and decide if you are going and when. You do have time to decide if you want a cruise holiday or island holiday.

Once we started cruising we never went back to a island holiday until last year. We went on a cruise in Feb and went on a island holiday in April.

We did enjoy the island holiday but prefer the cruise holiday better. Both were all inclusive. They are very different for the fact you go to several island on the cruise.

We were very pleased with Canadian North. This year we leave at 0700 for West Palm Beach. Here in Hamilton the have had a flight go out on Saturdays to Miami for the Reflection and a flight go out on Sunday's for the Silhouette since the last week in January. They were sold out for every flight.

As far as the ship they are both beautiful ships and found the service excellent on both. If you have any questions please ask me and I will try to answer them.

CrimsonAndClovet. Celebrity has a package from Ottawa. It includes your flight, drink package and prepaid gratuities. We have taken it from Hamilton twice and will be doing it again in a few week. They just posted it for 2017 if you are interested. We have been on several Celebrity cruises as well as other cruise lines but find that Celebrity is the one we like the best.

You cannot take liquor on the ship. Only wine. 2 bottles per cabin. try and get them to stop on the way to the ship so you can purchase a couple bottles.

Yes I know that you can only take two bottles of wine on the ship. Why I asked was I wanted to bring some back home if they had a duty free. In West Palm Beach. You are right love to go to Total Wines in Fort Lauderdale pre cruise when we stay in Florida to pick up our wine.

What a bonus to fly out of Hamilton! And I hear we get a meal and drinks...pretty much unheard of anymore for a 3 hrs flight. Would you say you were satisfied with the drink selection package?

You are right it is a bonus to fly out of Hamilton. We are only 10 min from the airport and I can hear the Celebrity flights go out on Saturday and Sunday. I just wish everyone a great flight and cruise. Soon it will be our turn. Lol yes they give you breakfast going and lunch coming back plus drinks. You are going to be more than pleased with your adventure. The drink package on the ship is great. We were pleased with it. Have a great cruise.

I'm sorry, I don't remember if there was or not, as we purchased our liquor on the ship.

Hello I am leaving in 2 Sundays from Hamilton as well 7am flight. How early would you recommend I be at the airport? We're your flights on time? How was your overall experience on the silhouette? Thank you in advance for your help.

We have done this package twice from Hamilton. We are going again in April on the Silhouette. I would get to the airport at 545. There will be people ahead of you but not that many. The tickets are first come first served. I have been checking the departure times from the airport and they all seem to be going out close to departure time.

It has come up on my lists as well. Not very happy about it. If they do not remove it I will not come back to it after my upcoming cruise. You have to be so careful that you do not click on the ads.

BrendaJ great info thanks. This will be our third Celebrity Package. The first into West Palm Beach. We will be flying out of Hamilton. Is there a duty free shop at the airport in West Palm.

Rick T is right. The large box Warehouse is in just about every major city here in Canada, Its head office is in Montreal and it starts with the letter C. I hope this helps.

We were at Labadee two years ago, really nice docking there. Just trying to point out that if they were devious enough not to go to CocoCay because of drink packages, why not do the same thing at Labadee, they have an even better excuse with the Political problems.

We were on the Silhouette last Feb and were unable to dock there due to the high seas. The Captain took her into port and said he thought that he would try to dock the ship. But after assessing the situation decided it would not be safe for the passengers or the ship. Celebrity did give us a 10.00 credit for the canceled port. We are going back again in Aoril. Do ope we can dick this time.

Brockmom It would be great if you post your experience. I would like to know what your experience was at the Palm Beach airport. What time you get to the cruise port and if there were long lines when you got there. We have taken the package for the last two years and will be going again in April. I will listen for your plane to take off as we are only 10 min from the airport. Have a fantastic cruise.

New TV AD claiming that they will be sourcing some food from local vendors.. It is the ad where the Celebrity person orders 3000 pounds of Salmon.

 

 

 

What effect will this have on the food for future cruises on Celebrity?

We have the same ad her in Ontario. This year is the first year that Celebrity has had ads on our local TV. I remember when we were on a cruise in Vancouver. We were still in port and the were loading food items on the ship. I asked on of the crew if the food was from Canada and he said no that they have it sent from the US. Even milk.

We are just coming into St. kitts.

 

 

 

By the way, we did not change time yesterday in San Juan and will not change today, either.

 

 

 

We were one hour late coming into San Juan due to heave headwinds and high seas the day before. So we left later as well.

Do they still have classes in the arts and crafts area. When I was on this cruise last year the instructor said he thought that they were not going to offer them after our cruise. I did enjoy taking the different classes. Thank you for your advice.

I may stay on the ship. We where just there in June. This is our forth time.

I think that if you have been there before it might be a good idea to stay on the ship if you do not want to go into the compound and shop. We. Do not always get off the ship in some ports. It is nice to have the ship to yourself by the pool. Have fun with your sons.

You may want to take a shore excursion with the cruise line. That way there will be other people from your ship with you. As I said it can be overwhelming at the port so you may just want to stay there with your boys.

Would u trust taking a cab

Yes It would but set a price before you use it. When we were at the hotel the girl at the desk called a driver that they called school boy. We were there on. Celebrity Cruise last Feb. We went back for one week for our daughters wedding in April. The hotel is less than 10 min from the cruise port. Once you leave the port compound it can be very unnerving with all the venders but there is a lot of police officers there and security. Ask them at the port were you can get a taxi and they will help you.

IIRC it was just over an hour from landing to rental car :)

Robert thanks for your info.. When we go on our own we try to get to the port at 1030. Great time to go as there are not too long a wait to get in the ship.

Comforting to know if the flight is running a couple of hours late, but what if you're snowed in for a day? Less of a possibility for those flying out of London, but always a possibility here in Ottawa.

Our flight was 3 hours late leaving. Celebrity rep said that the worst case scenario she was told by Miami was that if we could not get out then that they were going to fly us to the first port of call which was Mexico. They held the ship for us till we got there. Don't worry you are in good hands with Celebrity.

I love West Palm airport and have booked my own flights there a couple of times. Much more relaxed than FLL or MIA and only about 50 minutes from Port Everglades.

How long would you say it took to deplane get through customs and security? We fly out at 700 and providing the flight is on time should be there around 1000. Would it be safe to say it would take an hour to get to the buses and 50 min ride to the cruise port. If we get to the port after 12 it is going to be very busy place thanks
