Plenty of murder, romance, and/or tragedy novels out there (very few well written as many of them get ship facts wrong which irks me to no end, especially the historical fiction ones set on real ships such as thr Lusitania) But the ones that do stand out are the following:
Fiction:
The Cat's Table (Michael Ondaatje)
Death on the Nile (Agatha Christie)
The Man in the Brown Suit (Agatha Christie)
Stowaway (Karen Hesse - childrens)
Bloody Jack (YA series about female ship captain - LA Meyers)
The Woman in Cabin 10 (Ruth Ware)
Killer Cruise (Laura Levine - some errors but fun fluffy read)
Crossing on the Paris (Dana Gynther)
The Floating Feldmans (a very soap opera type cruise with some factual errors but fun fluff read - Elyssa Friedland)
Skinny Dip (Carl Hiaasen)
Nonfiction:
Only Way to Cross (John Maxtone Graham)
Liners to the Sun (John Maxtone Graham)
Crossing & Cruising (John Maxtone Graham)
The Captain's Journal (Capt. Hans Mateboer)
The Captain's Log (Capt. Hans Mateboer)
Tragedy-Fiction:
Salt of the Sea (YA novel by Rita Sepetys on the Wilhelm Gustloff sinking)
Lifeboat 12 (children's by Susan Hood on the City of Benares sinking)
Tragedy-Nonfiction:
Dead Wake (Erik Larson on the Lusitania)
Voyage of the Damned (Gordon Thomas on the St Louis)
A Night to Rememner (Walter Lord)
Ship Ablaze (Edward O'Donnell on the General Slocum fire)
Shipwreck: the Strange Fate of the Morro Castle (Gordon Thomas)
Desperate Hours: the Epic Rescue of the Andrea Doria (Richard Goldstein)
Was lucky enough to sail on a Princess TransAtlantic with John Maxtone Graham his lectures everyday were packed out!
I’m going to definitely look into those books! Thank You!- 2

Hi All!
As we wait to cruise again I’ve been looking for some good entertainment options that are cruise/travel themed fiction or non fiction.
i just added myself to the list at the Library for Rick Steves new Europe book.
Anyone have any favorites they would like to share?
Jamie 🚢 -
I’ve taken 3 East bound princess TA Cruises in the past and enjoyed each of them.
Please share any updates that you all find out.
I still haven’t heard back from Princess yet.
Thank You,Jamie

Hi All,
I emailed my Princess Cruise Rep. earlier posing this question but thought some of you may have already inquired.
Any thoughts when the 2022 TransAtlantic Cruise itineraries will be released?
I have taken a few in the past always leaving from Ft Lauderdale.
Any insight would be appreciated!
Jamie .

Wondering if anyone has heard from Yellowfish (Pescado Amarillo)?
it’s getting close to their season for sailing
Love reading her blogs as part of my morning ❤️

Nope, they were purchased directly from the Princess gift card site.
Were they purchased gift cards, or part of a promotion? They've had a few sales where you could receive promotional gift cards, and those definitely had an expiration date. -
Thanks for the help!
I just returned Saturday and sent emails out this morning directly to the gift card help address and to Princess directly. We were on a back to back total 25 days and didn't try to apply them till midway through the first cruise.
I'll post what they response is from Princess once received
Thanks Again Everyone!

My family had been saving gift cards to pay for our on board expenses but when presented some of them to guest services on board were told they expired. The Princess site says they don't expire but we were told they had.
We were then instructed to follow up and that the money would be refunded to the card they were purchased with even if they were gifts.
I've sent an email to Princess to start trying to get the credit cards refunded.

When is the 3 for free promo starting?
-
My two sisters did the referral/new guests for the 25.00 obc and it doesn't show up on my princess account - They got the email that said they were signed up w/ the 25.00, will it show up later or should I call Princess? Thanks
I've done two of these in the past and once the person takes the cruise you will get a credit of $25 to be taken off the price of your next cruise. If you are traveling with that person on their first cruise it will come off on that trip.

Looking to book Transatlantic in April 2017 but not included in current "Come Back New" sale. Do Transatlantic sailings ever have special promotions?
They do go on sale!
You can always book and keep watching for a price drop and just call to get the new price (as long as it isn't for new bookings only)
We always book early to get our cabin choice and then just call to get the price drops when we see them.
-
Thanks for all the info. I don't think we will walk.
Princess offers a bus transfer from the port to Dublin it's quite inexpensive
and drops you at a centrally located place.

We just booked a late May cruise from Barcelona to Rome. One of the ports is Tunis. I know this year that port has been cancelled due to violence but where is Princess going instead? I'm certainly fine with missing this stop next year if it is not safe but it's still on the schedule. But no excursions are listed so that leads me to think that they are still deciding what to do.
Our early May itinerary changed to
Barcelona
Cartagena (Es)
Gibraltar
Marseille
Genoa
Florence/Pisa (Livor
Rome (Civitavecchia)
05:00A

Last year our Christmas cruise on the CB started out $530 and went down to around $260 for a 5 day cruise. Keep an eye out for price reductions after booking since it's up to you to follow up :)

The organizer usually makes an announcement early on during the roll call about tours NOT being sold at the M&G.
I've been to 2 very well organized M&G for longer cruises which were brilliantly attended by many of the ship staff including the Captain.
Events for later in the cruise were organized and passengers where able to meet to discuss other plans for games or lunches while on board.
I think for the longer cruises such as the TA these are an asset, and I hope going forward organizers make those attending aware of the rules prior to boarding.
