  1. You will receive an email at 80 days out and then some "reminders" between that time and your sail date. You will also see a big "Let's Get You Upgraded" ad on the main screen whenever your first log into MyNCL past the 80 day mark,

I guess I have never paid attention in the past . I don’t think I’ll want to change cabins but it will be interesting to see what is offered.

    Thank You !!

  2. As far as Maui is concerned, there is no legal place to park at the port. The best option for overnight parking is the public parking lot at Kahului Airport, about three miles from the ship. You can usually use your rental car agency's shuttle between the airport and the ship during their business hours, but do check on that when you are closer to your sailing date.

I have t had much luck searching the boards unfortunately.

My biggest issue is Maui. I wanted to be able to access the rental car at 2:00am to do sunrise . But that probably won’t be possible to get a shuttle to airport at that time if the day.

I will contact the different rental agencies and see their schedules .

  3. You will be invited to bid closer to sailing. What is fair? Who knows, it is basically in NCL's favor for any bid. I think if you want more space to buy now what you want, don't rely on the bidding process because its a crap shoot if you will get what you want.

I have never heard of the bidding process. How does that work and does NCL contact you or do you contact them

  4. I booked about a week ago, happily as the price has since increased, but did the previous promotion, which looks the same, but with no onboard credit? Can someone advise on what to say to get the credit applied or am I out of luck because the room costs more now. Thanks!

if you want to the current perks offered you must also pay the current fare but see if th new perks and OBC make it worth paying the higher fare.

I always recheck rates and offers. I have been able to take advantage of perks and $500 OBC also and was luck my fare had not increased. Sometimes you just have to see if the OBC makes it worth paying more for fare

  5. We are going to be in 13000 and 13002 in a couple of weeks and I plan to take a lot of pictures. I will let you know when we get back.

I have studied the pictures and plans in great detail and from what I can see the balconies are enormous, but it will be interesting to see them in person.

    Regards, Chris.

We stayed in Suite 13000 and could not have been more pleased . The balcony was spectacular .

Our cabin stewardess was Lucia , our butler Ida and concierge was Thomas.

I hope you are fortunate enough to have them . Lucia was wonderful and by the end of our cruise she felt like family .

Ida was extremely helpful and took care I've everything we needed . We had a few meals in our suite and she made sure we wanted for nothing . She even got us dinner reservation at the hot hibachi restaurant at her suggestion and it was fabulous .

Thomas was great we saw him every morning for breakfast and after the first day he made sure to have a map handy for my hubby when we got to a new port . Super helpful .

I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did .

    Aloha,

    Cindy

  6. Just booked 13002 sailing May 30, 2015 for family of 6 from Alabama, kids will be ages 9, 12, 15 and 17. I would appreciate any any tips or advice concerning pre/post cruise tours, hotels, shore excursions, flights, etc. I'm just starting to research and the amount of information is overwhelming! Thank you, Mike

We saw the cabin you booked . No idea why they say that suite holds 6 people . To me it seems too small for that many people but that is just my opinion. It may work since your children are young . There would be no way for 6 adults would fit .

  7. What was the view like? Were there people visible on the deck below you?

And... were *you* visible by others?

We've really been waiting for various first-hand reports from Deck 13, forward suites (or forward/side).

    Thanks.

    GeezerCouple

    Views were amazing !

People could see us from above if we were at the railing but a good part is covered by a white awning . You could relax comfortably without being seen if you wished . The balcony in the suite we stayed in we were told it's the largest in the NCL fleet .

I would recommend it for sure.

  8. We just returned this past Monday from Hawaii.

I'd have to say we could not have asked for a better experience. We absolutely loved our Suite! We were in Suite 13000. It was just my husband and myself and this suite is huge, and the balcony was the biggest we had ever seen.

Our Stewardess was Lucia, Butler was Ida and Thomas was our concierge.

They were all outstanding. Service was first class from beginning to end.

We have just booked our next cruise with NCL. We can only hope that our next experience is as good as our last.

    Happy Sailing everyone,

    Cindy

  9. We ordered room service a couple of times (mostly just salads for the girls or chicken wings from the Cadillac Diner), but usually went out to eat. The main reason is that although our room was labeled a "suite", there wasn't a real table or chairs to eat at. We had a small coffee table in the living room and 2 tiny tables on the balcony. I honestly don't think 8202 should be called a suite other than for the HUGE balcony and 2nd bedroom. The bathroom was worse than the bathroom I had on the Carnival Glory (just a regular balcony room). If they had a decent sized table with 4 chairs out on the balcony (which is the only place in that room where it could possibly go), then we would have had a meal or 2 in there. We didn't get a "suite" feeling with this room, but it didn't really take anything away from our vacation. The 2nd bedroom was very nice to have, and the balcony was amazing!!!

Thank You for responding to my question . That would have been hard to enjoy a meal with no real seating options .

Were you supplied with special menus ? Or just the standard room service ?

Your reviews and information has been wonderful to read . I have really enjoyed them :)

Thanks again for taking the time to share with us :))

  10. I have a quick question .

Did you and your family ever dine in your suite for dinner? I have read somewhere that suite passengers are provided menus you can order from to have brought to your suite for dinner . Which I though would be great on the nights we are too exhausted from long days sightseeing .

Any info you could share would be most Appreciated.

I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed every post from your cruise and your pictures are beautiful. You posts about the car rentals also answered a few of my concerns about how the rental car parking and shuttles work .

    Thanks a ton !!

  11. We decided to have my husband drop me and the girls off with all our bags at that port and have him drive the car back to rental place. He pulled up and a porter came right over and loaded all our bags. My older daughter decided to ride with DH to drop off car. I followed porter in and tipped him, then off our bags went. Easy so far!! We sat in the building waiting for DH and DD to come back and I watched the lines of people come and go (we were there almost an hour before they came back). People were struggling to drag the bags to be dropped off and it seemed odd to me as usually porters grab the bags before anyone gets in the building. The lines would build up, but no one seemed to have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes to get through security (I kept my eyes on a lady with on orange shirt so I could get an idea how long it was really taking). As soon as DH and DD returned, we got in line and were through security in less than 10 minutes. We went to the VIP line for suites/latitudes, but the man that checked us in didn't seem to realize we were in a suite. I told my husband I didn't think we should be there, and that they usually give you room cards and introduce you to butler/concierge inside but he told me "I'm sure he knows what he's doing". It was when he went to the file boxes to find our room cards that it must have registered with him, because he couldn't find our cards, then he said "Oh, you need to come with me", and brought us to the suite waiting area;)....no apologies from DH:rolleyes:.

From there, we waited about 3 minutes, were handed our cards and then escorted onboard to Cagneys. We met Tom, the concierge, and he gave those of us there a little run-down of how things work (Cagneys for breakfast, tendering in Kona, dinner reservations, etc). Then we were brought in for lunch. Yay!! We were finally onboard!!

Thank You so much for your review . Only. 4 months to go for us and your review has helped amp up our excitement !!

  12. I too am booked on Deck 13. Cabin 13018, and would love to see some pics of the newly renovated suite as well. I'm sailing in January 2014 to celebrate my 50th birthday! So if there aren't any posted by then, I'll be sure to post some upon my return home.

When are you sailing? I would love to see pictures of deck 13. Anything would be greatly appreciated . We are sailing in May 2014.

    Happy Sailing !

  13. I am onboard now. The concierge said all deck 13 cabins are full but I'm still working on him to get me in to take a picture :-). This picture is the balcony on 13002...its very big :-)....not as big as 13000/13500....but big. If you can't all fit inside have someone sleep outside ;-). I woke up at 4 am our first night and didn't want to disturb anyone so I put on my robe and went out back on our balcony (a wrap-around on aft ) and laid looking at the stars for an hour or so. It was awesome !!

If the concierge won't let you take pictures maybe he will take your camera and take some pictures for you ? It's worth a try :)

Glad you are enjoying your large balcony ! Sounds wonderful laying out there looking at the stars .

Can you tell if the balcony in suite 13000 wraps around the side at all ? We are in suite 13000 in May next year and I was hoping to be able to see around the side a bit but I couldn't really tell much from the pictures I've seen.

Happy Sailing . I hope you have an amazing trip !!

  15. My cruise is this coming Saturday-- but others have confirmed 12006 is one bedroom, as has NCL corporate. Those of us in 12006 right now have another problem-- a leak in the bathroom-- but that's nothing for you to worry about. Happy cruising!

Midnight Blue please post following your cruise. I sincerely hope the leaking is fixed before you board.

I anxiously await for any information you may have on your return.

    Happy Sailing

    Cindy

  16. I think we're more worried about 4 people jockeying for the 1 bathroom (when we thought we'd have 2)... I'm sure after running around on the Island(s) all day, we'll be too pooped to care WHERE we sleep. Maybe we are just looking for some sort of an adjustment to the cost because I feel the suite we're getting is really a lower priced room than what we booked a year ago.

I definitely agree . I think Norwegian had to know this was going to be a problem. Why not disclose it instead of the misrepresentation of the suites . I'm amazed they are still calling the SD class suite on deck 13 a 1 bedroom. In fact there is NO bedroom . The bed is separated from the rest of the cabin by a curtain! How is that a bedroom? I say be honest in the descriptions and post actual photos and inform your passengers of EXACTLY what they are getting . Very misleading wording in their cabin descriptions started this problem and I believe it will only grow as passengers are blindsided once they arrive on board .

  17. We will be on POA Nov 30. I will get pictures of the new suites and maybe the solo and solo lounge as well (we did a room swap for a few minutes on the Dawn arranged by our concierge with the other people as we wanted to see one of the new suites on that ship, so we will try the same tactic again). I will post everything when we get back.:D

That would be great if you could post some pics. Thank You !

    Enjoy your trip :)

  18. I sent my mom with letters and stamps and she is headed to the post office as we speak. The letter to NCL is going CMRR - the ones to gov't officials and agencies (various) just regular mail.

As it stands, there are no 2 bedroom/2 bath suites left on our sailing date to even move us into. I would not want them throwing someone else out of their cabin to accommodate us! It will be interesting to see if anything gets resolved...or how they will keep us happy. Yes we will still make it work, YES we will still have fun ........ and yes HAWAII is the goal. But now there's been an extra stress point put on us, because we will be 4 adults sharing 1 bathroom.. only have 1 bedroom (not 2).. for privacy reasons we will have to work something out. It's not a deal breaker, but it's disappointing and we are NOT getting what we thought we were paying for. Maybe it was our mistake to choose the 13th deck a year ago when we booked? If we didn't have the $450 OBC it would be tempting to move into 2 balcony cabins and just ditch the suite, except we are looking forward to experiencing the "suite life" just this one time. Thank you all for putting up with my rambling... :( We're not so mad as we are disappointed and feeling gypped.

Please let us know if you receive a response. I guess we were fortunate to find a resolution that would work for us . We only have 3 in our group so it was not as difficult to work out . We could manage with one bedroom although not ideal I didn't want to move out of a suite on deck 13. We too wanted to experience the suite life at least this one time .

    Keep us posted please.

    Cindy
