  1. We did this cruise a couple of years ago. We dressed in layers. Thermals, mid layer and then ski pants and jackets. Snow boots, hat and gloves. On the ship I just dressed normally, trousers and jumpers etc except on formal nights. They keep the ship quite warm, but when in port the nearer you get to the gangplank the colder it is.

  2. this will be my first cruise to a cold place can anyone advise what to pack both for casual dining and sea days?? thank you so much :)

It depends on what time of year, if in winter then you need “ski” stuff if in summer then layers so you can take off at will. It has been short sleeve weather in the artic circle in summer when we were there once! Other times it has been jumpers!

  3. I think I will wait till next Wednesday and just book then, I have asked a few of the well know TA’s for prices and it comes out cheaper to use top cash back and book direct

  4. I might see you on the Aurora then, as I too have preregistered for that cruise. I too was only offered OBC, but since I'm a non-driver OBC was what I wanted anyway. As it was only £50 (I'm a single traveller), the poster who has suggested it might be that it wouldn't be enough to cover the cost of parking could well be correct.

I checked the cost of parking for similar cruise for next year and it was £140 against obc of £80! That’s why I wanted the parking!

  5. I found some foot ones that you stick to you sock which were really great for feet. You can get gloves with pockets on the back of your hand which you can put hotties in.

I would recommend glove liners as well

  6. We went on a 10 cruise on the NCL jade. They had 3 shows featuring their production staff (a country singing/dancing show, a Motown singing/dancing show, and a finale show that combined several acts) plus a magician, a comedian, and an acrobatic duo that they were currently using on all their 7 day cruises on that ship. They supplemented the extra days with a juggler/comedian and a second comedian who had an act involving music. Think there was one more show that I'm not recalling. They were all really good. Regardless of what the entertainment is I don't think you'll be disappointed.

  7. I find the Thomson website a bit clunky, you don't have a CP like on p&o, it's a different section to put your API in, when you book shore excursions you get an email but it doesn't show on your account! Also if you have booked upgrade on the plane you can book your seats now, if you have gone for select your seats it's 90 days before return flight. If that's the case, work out the date and make a note of it. You will get a reminder email but it's usually 2-3 after! If you want to select your cabin it's a phone call and £45
