However can you make the doors wider without increasing the size of the cabin. It would involve changing layout which is why i say on new builds only.

On new builds couldn't they make ALL doors wider? That and a grab bar by the toilet in all cabins and many people could book a regular cabin and free up the accessible for those who are dependent on a mobility device full time.

You can set your phone to not update the time automatically and instead set the time manually. That's what I do as I can't stand wearing a watch.

Copies of medical insurance? If you can get that other letter notarized, I would.

If it's a tender port and you are in the line for a tender at the appropriate time, they won't leave you behind.

Easiest thing to do is put a limit on the spending (see guest services on board) and give each kid the OBC for them to spend. I've always told my kids they get to keep whatever they don't spend.

And when I flip the coin I sometimes wish it came up the other way. I take that as a sign (unless it's to solve a discussion between my wife and myself, in which case, DW usually wins)

They will give you a separate "door key only" card that won't let you charge anything, well just open her door.

Absolutely you go to both. Much easier for the ship to have a no-exceptions policy. Is as much a drill for the crew as well as for the passengers. In a real event, B2Bers would muster same as everyone else.

How about wearing a formal wife-beater and flip flops on formal night while removing tips, sharing your drink package, while placing a dirty sock on your pool side chair to save it.

If you know you will need a wheelchair, rent one from one of the approved providers. Ships do not provide them except in emergent situations like an earlier poster described.

What's more important to you? The ship or the ports? If the ship, take the 12 day. If the ports, take the 7 day with the added land holiday.

OK, so it goes:
- Deposits
- Booking
- Excursions, show reservations, airfare, etc.
- Final payment (can be reduced with payments)
You got it.

One you pay the deposit, everything is optional until final payment. Anything you reserve ahead of time that had a cost, you pay for right away, our you have the option to purchase on board.
You can also make as many payments as you want to reduce the balance owing for your final payment.

You pay the deposit when you book. You don't have a booking at all until the deposit is paid

Prices go up then prices go down. Book it now to get the cabin you want and watch for price drops. Any price drop you see for the category you are in can be repriced with just a phone call. We have called as many as three times over a year to lock in the new prices we see. Book with the cruise line to get what they are offering and you can still transfer to a travel agent up to 60 days to pick up any grats. obc or specialty dinning they are offering and still keep anything Royal gives you. happy cruising
This assumes you are booking under North American rules. Rules in other places are different and may not allow repricing.

What I would like to see is on new builds (can't do it on existing ships) is for ALL cabins to be as accessible as possible. Simple things like wider doors, hands free opening, grab bar by the toilet, lower threshold to the bathroom, things like that.
Many people need some of the features of an accessible room, but not necessarily all.
Some "traditional" fully accessible rooms will still be needed for those in a mobility device 24/7 but I think many people would be able to i use a non accessible room if only the door was wider for example. (Get the scooter in easily, park it to charge, then go about their day in the cabin).
Would make it a lot easier for many people to get the cabin they need without having to book 10 min after itineraries are published or miss out.

Makes me wonder what new ship builds could do to make as many cabins accessible as possible. I know existing ships are kinda stuck as is, but couldn't you design cabins better so that a "standard" cabin is accesible to the majority of people who need an accessible cabin today.

Keep checking. I once saved $200pp x 4 people by giving up $50pp OBC. That's a deal I will take anytime.
Next day the prices were higher than what I had before the re-price with no OBC. So if you see something pounce on it right away, don't wait.

$109 a week covers a lot of hassle factor. I think I would bring some detergent and wash in the sink for that price.

If not I will just no show her. Oh she won't go without my approval, she just kept insisting but that entire thing is settled now.
A nice beach day sounds good to me
Just to be safe, if canceling her will cause issues, change your roommate to Archibald Andrews. He won't come and just no show "him" at the port.
Whatever you do, don't leave an ex on your reservation because if you do and she shows up, you are hooped.

It's just a pity that there is no alternative for folks like us, where none of the packages fits because our small spend includes a mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and coffees. It would be really great to be able to have the option of a pre-purchased credit for our drinks that would give us even a tiny discount on our overall shared spend.
:(
There is an option for you. Buy some OBC and use that for your drinks and whatever you don't spend will be refunded to you at the end of the cruise.
Comes down to either a pay as you go or package, no real middle ground

Nah. Many people will just go to the direct source first. Not all but it is a significant number.
I've had bad experiences with hotel booking sites in the past, never a problem booking direct. That experience carries over to the cruise works where I just can't justify "perks" in exchange for giving up the ability to talk directly to the company about my reservation.

How to pack light.
1. Get the luggage you are going to limit yourself to. For us, it's generally what we can carry on a plane.
2. Make a list.
3. If it fits it comes with. If it doesn't, prioritize and remove stuff.
4. While don't the packing test, put in something you won't take to take up the space for souvenirs etc. (Unless you have some disposable items you are taking, like diapers or wine)
You'll better know what to take once you start packing and see how much room you have.

If you can't share then you are looking at single supplement or booking ships with studio cabins for 1. However, I've heard many times that they aren't actually cheaper.
