- Anello will stand trial in April and faces three years behind bars if he is found guilty of negligent homicide
That would pretty much wrap things up in the lawsuit against RC if convicted.

I don't blame her one bit. Personally I am less concerned about getting the Corona-virus than I would be about being trapped in a cabin for 2 weeks. It only takes 1 person to get everyone on the ship confined to their cabin.
I think new bookings are going to really start to slow up as we see this spreed.

Like I said before Chloe was perfectly safe looking through or banging on the lower glass until the Grandfather got involved.
She was too little too climb up on top of the railing herself. Left alone she would still be here.
I have been on that class of ship 3 times and there is no way you wouldn't know those windows were open.

Not a lawyer, but the crime scene is divided between the ship where she fell, which is not US territory, and the pier where she actually died, which is, so this is another sticky international law issue, I would think.
And by the time they figured it out it may have been too late to test for Alcohol.

With respect to jurisdiction on a foreign ship in port, it does not completely fall under the jurisdiction of the port it is in, it is covered by the overlapping jurisdictions of the port and the flag state. There is a lot of legal debate over the limits of port state jurisdiction over a foreign ship, and in most cases, international law and international trade law is applied, and the port state does not impose its jurisdiction on the ship except on matters "external" to the ship (pollution, trade, taxes, etc) or unless the "safety or well being" of the port are affected. The death of a US citizen on a foreign ship in a US port is considered to be "affecting the well being" of the port. Further, the US has claimed "extra-territorial" jurisdiction over certain crimes committed against US citizens on foreign ships while in international waters.
In this case since the death took place on the pier in Puerto Rico shouldn't they be able to apply all their laws?

Because at the end of the day they get good free PR in return,
simple .
The Good PR is only free to RC if the FCC's are not used. If they are used it is costing them the face value of the FCC.

Great, they're taking benefits away from the packages. This usually means a price increase is coming.

CocoCay is really turning out to be huge revenue stream for RC. And they are going to keep fine tuning how much they can squeeze out of everyone. They have had a lot of practice doing this onboard.

Notice that the news states that the 4 passengers show the symptoms of Coronavirus and not that one has tested positive to Influenza A and it's been 14 days since they were in China.

I would be seriously think about loosing my money and not going on a cruise that could possibly end up getting quarantined.
If they find anyone with Coronavirus then everyone will probably be stuck in their cabins for 2 weeks waiting to see who else has it.
-
The may generally hold firm on the Credit. By issuing a credit many of those who had cruise insurance can get their money back form their insurance and those people will probably re-book at a later date. This means RC is still being paid for those cabins. Those with credits definitely will re-book.
Now they may look at individual cases like yours and issue a refund. It may take writing a letter to get a response.
By doing it this way they are essentially getting revenue from their passengers insurance companies.

This is nuts!
For whatever reason that was not good enough for the grandfather. He took her out of a safe situation and put her in a dangerous one. If he would of just watched her do what she loved to do at the hockey games she would still be here today.
This is 100% on the grandfather.

Really wish Royal would invest some time in training their reps on the basics.
They are trying to save money by letting their customers do the training.

Carnival ships always looked like the smoke was darker. The Tail design shots the exhaust out to the side as opposed to being push straight up so it lingers more. The smoke is spread out farther and moves vertical much slower.
Now the ships are changing over to various methods of controlling emissions.

Are you heading to the Caribbean out of Bayonne? If so, the ship will be running at full speed for at least 4 nights of the cruise.
It can be cooler and winding on the ocean side where the boardwalk is protected.

RC did a great job protecting the girl on the ship. She walk up to the side and was perfectly safe. She was safe.
Then an adult decided to pick her up and hold her over the structure that was protecting her.
The only thing they could do better is have an IDIOT test before boarding.

Either the family is in denial about it being the grandfather's fault or they are looking for a payout.
Most everyone else knows you don't put children up on railings or out open windows.
Most likely there has or will be some offer from RCL to shut this down.

The lawyer's for the family are going to keep pushing this as far as they can until a trial because more than likely there will be a settlement. There will almost always be some offer on the table to make this go away. It doesn't cost the lawyer's that much to keep this going until trial time.

In Portland it is about a 1/4 mile from the ship to the main road(Commercial Street) and then another 1/4 mile down Commercial Street to the where the shopping area, restaurants and wharf's start. Commercial street is the road that runs along the harbor. It is all flat.
In Bar Harbor it's only about 200 feet to town from where the tender drops you off.

Even if she would fit in the channels both the docks are are taken up with other ships.

He would be very upset if someone unplugged a device.
He can't adjust his habits. They are trying to prevent fires on the ship. There have been lots of fires due to defective chargers and batteries.

I see people opening and closing these windows frequently. Doesn't matter where the ship is or what time it.
