  1. Okay, I can't vouch for the accuracy of this statement, but I have read it many times over the years from many sources. This - It is apparently standard procedure on cruise ships that when a person fails to report back when the ship is prepared to sail, staff is directed to their cabin and passports are removed from the safe, brought down and turned over to the port agent on shore.  Some have reported that sometimes even their medication has been brought down with it.  So if you are unfortunately left behind your first course of action should be to contact the port agent for your documents.

We never take our passports ashore so I sure hope this is good info.

  2. FLL - We needed to transfer between two different cruise lines (can't remember which).  We knew ahead of time that shuttles would not be available and so decided to cab it.  We were concerned that taxi drivers would be reluctant to take us for such a short drive.  But the driver informed us that it was fine as in these instances he would be allowed to return to the front of the taxi line.  Can't remember the cost but it was pretty cheap.

  3. I love my morning cappuccino and always have two.  I use a Yeti coffee mug that is large enough to hold two which stays hot for me for a few hours.  The mug is short, no taller than a regular ship's cup/mug and some ships have brewed directly into it.  Other times, after the first day, when they see me set my mug on the counter, they have brewed my coffee into a pitcher, brought it to the counter and poured it into my cup.

  4. Hi,  I'll be in Aruba for one day on a cruise.  Would like to spend a couple of hours on the beach followed by lunch at Bugaloe's.  Are there beach chairs/umbrellas to rent near the restaurant?   If so, where would I get off the bus?  Thanks!

Walking between terminals is tough depending on how much luggage you have and how hot it is that day. Easiest way to get from one terminal to another is grab a cab, tip the driver well and be pleasant.

We took a cab.  Thought the driver might be reluctant for such a short jaunt.  He explained that after dropping us off he would be allowed to jump the taxi line as opposed to having to pull up to the rear.  Easy !

Irrelevant, because RCL's requirement for Bermuda cruises is two days, and the people clearing you at the gates will only follow RCL's rules.

I had read elsewhere that destination requirements superseded cruise ship rules.  The problem I have is that rapid antigen tests are hard to come by in my area, and PCR tests can take up to 48 hrs. (too close for comfort).

  7. Sailing next month to Bermuda.  When it comes to pre-cruise Covid testing, Royal's rules differ from the requirements of the Bermuda Travel Authorization (a requirement for all entry into Bermuda).

    • Royal (as per my pre-cruise email received today) - "Vaccinated guests must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day."

    • Bermuda Travel Authorization -  Chart: "Fully Vaccinated Cruise Ship Passengers for Cruise voyage where ship takes 4 days or less to arrive to Bermuda from embarkation port:

COVID-19 NAAT test (PCR, LAMP or TMA) up to 4 days before embarkation

     OR

Supervised antigen up to 2 days before embarkation

When it comes to PCR test, which is it, 4 days or 2?  Won't call Royal as I have little faith that whomever I reach really knows.

We have eaten there a few years ago and it was delicious.

Good to hear, thanks.  As I am unable to locate any menus with pricing, I am going to assume that it is in line with most restaurants in the area and not overly pricey. ??

  9. I am hoping someone has personal experience with this restaurant.  It has some pretty good reviews.  However I have not been able to access their website, I get the message "Website blocked due to trojan", so cannot look at their menu and prices.   tia

No more open bar for the Diamond Lounge, only vouchers, but you can use them anywhere at any time. They still serve the same type snacks during happy hour and still have the coffee machine at least.

The time varies a bit from ship to ship and is usually 3 hours. 4:30-7:30 or 5-8 are common I believe.

Can the voucher be used for a glass of wine with dinner in the MDR?
