  1. I could add about 100 dessert pictures to this thread and point out a few exceptional items that haven't been mentioned.

But I have to assume you wouldn't want the opinion of this "fatty" so I'm not going to waste my time.

Probably not the best choice of words...Didn't mean to offend anyone. I welcome dessert recommendations from people of all sizes! :D

  2. We recently upgraded from a 8th floor interior to 6th floor balcony. It is forward, about 10 rooms back from the front of the ship. I know the theater is below us. This should only be noisy during show times, correct? I hope.

Now, with the lanai below us, I know that it starts to narrow towards the front of the ship, giving us a better view? Anybody know about where that point would be? Trying to figure out if our location is ok. We aren't around any of the hot tubs.

Anybody know if there are public smoking areas around us? We are on the right side if you are looking on the deck plans online.

  3. Thank you guys! I am getting excited. I might have to check out some of the desserts in the coffee shop, as well!

Anyone know if you can order any of the Italian desserts at lunch time in the restaurant or do you have to go at night? The cannolis look amazing.

  4. The husband and I have been eating so healthy that we plan on eating all the junk food we can get our hands on in 30 days when we sail the Breeze for 8 days!!! We watched a tour on youtube and we saw a bunch of desserts in a case (black forest choc. cake, ext.), I think it was in or around ocean plaza?! Does anyone know what I am talking about? I'm guessing these are for a fee.

Other than the desserts in the MDR, room service, and the free ice cream..are there any other free desserts on the ships? Does the buffet offer anything good? Other than the choc. melted cake, is there any dessert that is a must have? We don't discriminate but love chocolate!

PS. I swear we aren't fattys! We are just excited about what we have been deprived of for a long time. lol

  5. Thank you all. So, this is what I'm planning on doing. Sending in our only BC's scared the crap out of me...so I just ordered everyone a new one online. It was a pretty penny but worth it for the piece of mind. Thats way, if the passports are delayed, we will have a backup. It said that the BC's should be here within 10 days. We live in FL and have BC's from NC,VA, and NY, so going to pick one up wasn't an option. Thanks for the advice guys! ;)

  6. I have 4 passports to get. Expedited will cost an extra 60pp. I've always just used BC and ID, but taking the kids this year, I feel like its time to get passports....and I've waited till the very last min.

Has anyone gotten a new passport lately and how long did it take to receive it? I have 38 days till the cruise. I know I probably just need to cough up the extra money to get it here faster. I hate being a procrastinator sometimes..

  7. We are booked in an interior room for 4 people. I'm kicking myself for not booking a cove balcony instead, now 39 days out (on the Breeze), it seems like the prices keep going up for the most part. I was really close to upgrading yesterday. It would of been 1000 more. I check today, and its 1380 more.

From your experience, do prices just steadily increase or do you think I have a chance of them dropping again? I have a feeling that since its the Breeze in the middle of summer, prices are going to stay the same or go UP.

    TIA :)

  8. I've had the Breeze booked for a few weeks now. We sail in 52 days! :D My MIL and FIL decided to come and contacted a PVP a booked an inside room on the 2nd deck. They linked our reservations together for the sake of dining, I guess. We have early seating (confirmed) and they got waitlisted. So, I guess we will be seated together at 6pm, only if they get off the wait list? Do they try to get cabins close together if linked together? I ask because we have not be assigned a room yet. When I go to do a mock booking, the only 4 person interior rooms available are on deck 8 and 9, which is fine with me. I just didn't know if since we are linked, they would try to get us closer, like in a ocean view room (which was cheaper a few days ago than the interior) or try to move them up a few decks? Not that it matters, I'm just curious what all comes with being "linked".

  9. Breeze is 300 more total. Same everything else. I am currently booked on Conquest but thinking about switching to Breeze only because I have two kids (6,9) and the Breeze seems like it has more to do! Now, I'm hesitating because the reviews are not as good on her (70% vs. 79% conquest). Any advice? Are the water slides and ropes course usually closed due to high winds? If you had kids my age, which would you pick?

  10. I want to add that the gift baskets in the bathroom depend on the sailing. We have cruised and always had our basket full and we were in a 4K interior both times as well.

Also, you may want to check out the newish Faster to the Fun option to get on board early as its only $50 per cabin and also the people tell me the pens have changed.

Thanks. I def didn't know about the Faster to Fun option. I just looked it up I read that you can get tendered faster, as well?!...How do I know if any of my ports are tender ports?

St.Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan PR, and Grand Turks

  11. Our cruise on the Breeze last Thanksgiving had an addition to the MDR dinner menu. For an additional $20, you can order Steakhouse entrees, like filet mignon and lobster. We didn't do this but I have heard that it's delicious and a nice option to have in the MDR.

Also, your children might enjoy Towel Animal Puppet Theatre. Check your Fun Times for day and time (usually mid afternoon, I think). Before the show in the main theatre, they instruct the kids on how to create a towel animal. The show was cute and my DDs had a great time.

    Have a great cruise!

    That sounds fun. Thanks

  12. The last time I've cruise was 5 years ago. With carnival, 7 years ago...I haven't been active with these boards either, so if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions... ;)

    1. Any big changes I should know about? I read that there is no longer a band playing at the pool (thats kind of disappointing)...any other cut backs?

    2. I read on the RC boards that drink prices have gone way up. Is it the same with carnival? I don't drink a lot but enjoy a fruity drink every once in a while. I thought they were like 7ish dollars last time I cruised. Could be wrong.

    3. Never cruised with kids but this time we are....What will our inside guarantee room look like? Two uppers, two lowers?

    4. Please tell me there is still lobster. lol. My husband may not go, if not. Also, can my kids order the lobster or do they have to get kids meal items??

I can't think of anymore questions at this time. We are sailing in June on Conquest (8day) with our kids. Hoping for a relaxing vacation. Thanks for your time...

  13. My husband and I have never taken our kids on a cruise before. Last time we went, they were younger and we didn't want to start taking them on vacations until they were at least 5....anyways...Now, we want to bring them. We are in our late twenties and have a 9 and 6 year old.

I really wanted to find a ship that had the waterworks for them, but Conquest is cheaper than Sunshine and it basically has the same itinerary and the same amount of days. I have to choose between balcony on Conquest with no waterworks, or for the same price, an inside room on Sunshine w/ waterworks. What would you do?

ALSO, can my six year old even ride the slide on conquest? How do you keep your kids entertained?
