  1. ;)

I was on your cruise. It was wonderful. The ports were beautiful. Not one complaint about the ship or crew. Our cabin steward was the very best. We were Aqua and loved Blu. Booked again for November 2019. First time on celebrity after many in RCI. Did not realize until we got home that our captain’s club number had been deleted from our booking three days before sailing so we got no elite perks. I do wish that key west was not our last day. It is easier to have a sea day before returning home

How did it go when in Key West the day before arriving back in port?

Assume you went through immigration/customs in Key West before getting off the ship. Curious to know how debarkation goes in port in this scenario. What happens with getting baggage in port?

    Thanks!

  2. Will put this to good use in a few weeks when visiting Bonaire.

Would be very helpful if you can add places to stop were we can enjoy the beach. We will be renting a golf cart for the day.

Thanks for all your work on this. Much appreciated.

  3. You have the 2 choices in Lindbergh Bay, Emerald Beach Resort and Island Beachcomber. Emerald is a little more like a hotel/resort experience while the Islander has a more "casual vibe" to us. Both are fine, you'll probably like the Emerald.

If you use the Search function for "Honeymoon Beach on Water Island" or "Water Island" you'll find tons of posts. There is a small ferry that you need tokens for, when dropped at Water Island you can walk to Honeymoon Beach but it is a trek. Often there is a ride offered for tips, and when available you can rent a golf cart. But be aware that HB is a very busy, little beach today and with a ship docked at Crown it will be crowded. Excursions on day sails and powerboats also get dropped in front of Dinghy's Beach Bar and take up much of the swimming section of the beach. And the return ferry fills up easily and has to return for folks so leave yourself extra time in case that happens to you.

    We'd recommend Lindbergh Bay...

Thanks Blue_Water for your tips and recommendations.

Don't want to fight the crowds & worry about the return ferry ride !

  4. Docking at Crown Bay & looking for advise for a beach not too far away.

Emerald Beach / Lindbergh Bay seems close. Which hotel is best for renting chairs where we can have shade and/or umbrellas?

Also can someone tell me about Honeymoon Beach on Water Island? It is a ferry ride next to Tickles Restaurant but what do I do / where do I go once I get to Water Island?

    Thanks !

  5. So you need to go to P4 to connect with the Ramada shuttle.

Thanks. I finally got to talk to a live person a little while ago.

You are correct ... for a shared van/bus it is $20pp from the cruise port to EWR and $25pp to a EWR hotel. Otherwise a cab to the hotel is $69.20 (including toll).

I spoke with the dispatcher who wears a yellow coat and you can find him when exiting the cruise terminal. No advanced reservation is needed. Anyone can go up to him and he will get you what you want.

  6. I spoke to the taxi dispatcher when I sailed in February and he confirmed that they offer a shared shuttle to EWR for $20/pp. However, this is a repositioning cruise so you might want to call Bayonne City Yellow Cab 201-339-5000 to confirm that they will be doing this for the Summit.

Do you want to go to a particular EWR hotel? I don't believe that any of the hotels pick up at Cape Liberty for a repo cruise, so I would want to know if the EWR shuttle will drop you at the P4 airtrain station so you can more easily transfer to the particular hotel shuttle you are looking for. What hotel are you interested in?

Probably the Ramada on Frontage Road.

  7. Celebrity Summit was forced to sail at a reduced speed due to issues with the ship’s propulsion system. We have been working to resolve this issue, with technicians and engineers flown in to Cozumel to make the necessary repairs. Due to this, Summit remained in Cozumel all day Wednesday and will depart on Thursday, March 9. Because of the later departure, and in order to ensure we conclude this cruise on schedule, Summit will need to bypass Grand Bahama Island,Bahamas and instead spend a day at sea to return to Port Everglades as scheduled on Saturday, March 11.

Could you kindly tell me where to find this information on the celebrity.com website?

    Thanks so much !

  8. Hi 138east -

I am looking at all options and for the best pricing (and safety).

All I need is to park my car so I can get to Cape Liberty port for the repositioning cruise and then fly back to EWR and get my car to drive home.

Yes, you are correct. Embassy Suites is not the answer for me ... but perhaps for others.

Any recommendations of where to park for the week, shuttle or cab/taxi to the port then shuttle back to pick up car to drive home? And the costs?

Thanks in advance and have a great holiday weekend !!!

  9. Just got off the phone with the hotel.

They indeed charge $20pp one-way to Cape Liberty for the shuttle.

They charge $20 per night parking plus taxes.

They offer a Park, Ride & Cruise Package that includes hotel, 2 roundtrip transfers to the port, and up to 10 nights parking.

The rate for 1 night hotel in October for 2 people/1 room is $319.

You could find it on their website.
