  1. We did this last year with my 17 year old and her 17 year old friend.  We have no problems.  We just made sure that the friend had her passport.  That was really all we needed.  Just to be on the safe side, we also got a letter from the mother stating that she was allowed to cruise with us and we were allowed to get her medical treatment if necessary.  We booked the two girls a room next to ours and then the wife and I were able to have our own room.

We did not have any experience where we needed to show any type of documentation, except passport when embarking and debarking.  All the ports we visited only needed sign and sail card.

  2. Thanks JDC. Seems if we want included non-motorized water sports then we may want to hit someplace like Occidental. Is Mr. Sanchos super crowded? I know that Nachi only lets in 100 people per day.

I thought I read someplace that the beach at Sanchos drops off quite a bit. True?

Anyone have experience at Melia or Occidental?

  3. We will be in Cozumel at the end of April and I am looking to do an AI with the family. I know Mr. Sanchos and Nachi Cocom are all highly recommended. I am also considering Melia Vacation Club and Occidental Grand Resort.

I've kinda ruled out El Cid La Ceiba Beach as it looks like the beach area is very tiny. Can anyone confirm this?

So, while I know they all include unlimited food and drink, Sanchos and Nachi seem to lack descriptions on what sort of activities are included. According to Cozumel Day Passes, Occidental and Melia include non-motorized water sports like wind surfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, etc.

Other questions I have, how good is the snorkeling off the beach of these resorts?

    Thanks!
