I have 75 pounds leftover from a previous cruise. My bank will only exchange in increments equal to $100. I wanted use the pounds but will only be travelling to countries using Euros. I guess the small amount will be worth a poor exchange rate rather than having them just sitting around. Thanks to all who responded!

You would be better off going to a bank in Europe to exchange from pounds to euro.

Since our OP seems to be from North Carolina I am also curious as to what itinerary they are sailing.

But I also agree with @Algebralovr that the crew will be pleased with any currency as they will be trading with other crew members.

The OP appears to be taking Reflection TA next month.  I would cash the pounds for dollars at a local bank that does foreign exchange.  If the OP needs Euro, there's an ATM in the parking garage at Ponta Delgado once debarking the ship, and plenty of ATM's in town.

  3. We were on Constellation 14 Feb 2022 sailing and in an O/V.  We got upgraded to a CC cabin when we checked in at the pier.  They were using Deck 7 forward on both the port & starboard side for covid and/or quarantine for new staff and using our O/V and other staterooms on Deck 3 for crew social distancing.

I would think when you check in guest services should be able to accommodate you to another stateroom on Deck 8.   With regard to being next to each other, the stateroom balconies do not open to the other balconies.

One thing I'm sure we can all agree on, is that it's an " attention getter ".

If you frequent the martini bar, a lot of it is a big show.  It's good fun, and people tend to tip, especially when they pour 8-10 drinks in a pyramid and juggle the vodka bottles around.  It's more than an attention getter -- it's a great marketing ploy.  Good for them.

Geez, I was just giving an example of a place on the ship where tips are pooled, nothing more nothing less.

They always seem to pool tips at the martini bar from what I can see, and it pretty much makes a lot of sense.  I asked one time at the Sunset Bar on the M-Class, and they told me they pool the tips.  There was one bartender and two servers.

When I was on Reflection several years back, there was one bartender/server when I discretely palmed him a tip for a drink, he always looked at it before putting it in his pocket instead of discretely just  putting it in his pocket.  I guess he was trying to figure out how "cheap" I was, so he never got another tip from me the rest of the cruise.

I can’t picture this, as if there is a second ship it would be either in front or you, or behind.  Or perhaps docked in Hamilton…so unless you are in an aft facing cabin…. EM

Perhaps he's thinking of another port.  There's only two berths for large ships at the Dockyards, one in front of the other.  The Staff Captain told us it depends on which side they needed to do maintenance on the lifeboats & davits.

We are looking at a cruise on the Edge in April and I have a few questions.

We have not sailed on Celebrity in a while and would like to know how the Unlimited complimentary drinks from Captain's Club menu at most bars from 5-7 p.m. daily work? What drinks are included? Also if you could explain another perk - Access to the Captain's Club Coffee Lounge for coffee house-style beakfast. Where is this on the Edge?

On the quote that I have for the Edge it has Always included 3 perks - Classic Beverage, Gratuties and Wifi. How does the Unlimited complimentary drinks work with this Classic Beverage package?

    Thanks

If you have the Classic Beverage package, you don't have to worry about the Captain's Club menu, which has lower quality of beverages that you get with the Classic Package.

I have no problem with people going maskless and  would expect them to be as respectful of others decision to protect themselves and others.

I don't wear a mask and don't have a problem with others who don't wear a mask.  What I take issue with is people like the person who stood next to me at the Post Office the other day while I was picking up my mail.  He was coughing and hacking constantly -- he's the one who should be wearing a mask.

Pre-covid I was able to take my non-elite roomate to the wine tasting, coffee club morning hours, and the elite happy hour..

She was not eligible for the gelato or laundry or the "coupon" required amenities

Don't know the current situation but I'll be sailing Friday on the Equinox with the same person (who is still not elite)..  I'll see what I can find out.

That's pretty much it in a nut shell.  No coupons loaded onto the seapass.  There is no longer an elite happy hour in the evening since it's 5-7pm free Elite drinks at most bars with a couple of exceptions.

I am wondering if the smoking areas are the same on Millennium as before that pandemic.  Below is the information I found but not sure if things have changed, please reply if you know.  Thanks

Smoking is generally mid-ship deck 5 Port. Also a designated area port in the pool area near the Buffet and Port side of Mast Bar. Some times deck 5 is shifted to starboard when fueling and when winds heavy on port side.

    5 Mid-ship deck 5 Port.
10 Port in the pool area near the Buffet
11 Port side of Mast Bar.

Those were the same area on Constellation a week ago, so I'm sure they are most likely the same on Millennium as they were back in 2019 when we sailed her.

Wow that was great for you!  I'm wondering if they wanted to keep some of those cabins available for potential crew quarantine.  Celebrity has not been known to be that generous as a rule.  In all of our 60+ Celebrity cruises we have never, ever been offered a complimentary upgrade.

It was a surprise to us also.  I was told they were moving all those staterooms for crew overflow/quarantine/social distance, yada, yada, yada.

Yes, you did.  And thank you.  The thing is on Celebrity what happens on one ship, or when talking to one cust. serv. rep is not always the same as on another ship.  Wondering if everyone had the same experience as you did.

We were booked in an OV on Constellation, and both of our MoveUp bids were rejected.  When we arrived at the pier, we were told we got a complimentary upgrade to concierge class and were directed to the MDR for lunch.  We got all concierge class amenities.  Don't know about points, and don't care because we are already Elite Plus and will never attain Zenith category.

Just curious, we were on the Edge in August & Reflection in November & the Embarkment lunch for Concierge was not on Embarkment Day, it was midweek.  Was your lunch aboard the Connie the day of Embarkment?

Yes.  We were prepared to head to the OV for lunch, but when we got upgraded to CC, it was a pleasant surprise.  Either way, there was no fighting the crowds based on the numbers embarked.

Thanks @Wineaux007  One last question, are the staterooms dated or showing wear and tear?

They are not brand new looking, but nothing to complain about.  Carpet, bedding, just fine.  If you look for a little rust on the balcony, you might find some.  Balcony furniture looks new.  It's a great looking ship, and would have no problems booking it again in its current shape.

  15. I wouldn't expect revolution/renovation anytime soon.  We're currently on Constellation, and we are sailing at 1/3rd capacity, if that, so no real revenue to do a complete revolution/upgrade.  Actually, the ship is just fine the way it is -- we are not disappointed in the least.  Crew/guest ratio is about 1:1.

  16. We are currently on Constellation.  They moved everyone on Deck 7 from stateroom 7126 on the starboard side, and 7131 on the port side, from there and forward for quarantine area.  It was blocked off with a sign.  We had an O/V stateroom on Deck 3, 3127, and we got a comp upgrade to a concierge stateroom on Deck 8 when we checked in at the pier.  Pleasant surprise.  They are using all the deck 3 staterooms for crew overflow/social distancing, yada, yada, yada.

Generally no but I have heard of some cabin changes being allowed.  It is best to set your mind to accepting the worst cabin in the category and be happy if you get something better.

That's pretty much the same when you book a "guarantee" category, but if something else is available in the same category as the room you were assigned, you were able to change.
