  1. I didn't move it until the cruise was cancelled.  I do know that for sure.   I guess it's the dates for the lift and shift that is in question.  In fact I almost missed the deadline; because I had so much going on, and never got an email.  I did just find something online that does look like it did get extended.    If anybody out there had a cruise cancelled during this time and can confirm below I would appreciate it.  I will be giving them a call in the morning.   Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cancel Most Cruises Through June 2021

Sister lines Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises have both announced that they have now canceled voyages through June 30, 2021 — with some exceptions. Previously, both lines had suspended cruises through May 31

    Option 1: Lift & Shift

Passengers can take their current (now canceled) booking and move it to essentially the same sailing next year. The 2022 cruise must be the same itinerary type and destination, and be within four weeks of the same sailing dates as this year’s. Guests have until April 22, 2021 to choose this option.

  2. Prior to covid we had cruised a few times each year, and a few of our cruises were cancelled due to covid.  We were booked for June 2020 on Oasis out Bayonne.  I lift and shifted to June 2021, and then we lift and shifted to June of 2022.  I called the travel agent to have the last lift and shift done after I knew the one was being cancelled for June of this year..  She stated due to fees, it would be between $100 and 200 more.  Between working 60-70 hours a week, and trying to build a house I never followed back up. Long story short I just looked online, and it is showing that they did not price protect and appears they want me to pay full price for the cruise.  I will give them a call tomorrow; but what are my options.  It is a non refundable fare.  Can I transfer the cruise to a different cruise; if they will not change back to the original cost?  Yes, my fault for not following up; but I have barely had time to turn around this year.

  3. Sorry if this has already been answered; but I am looking for a quick answer, rather than reading every post about refunds.  My Vancouver to Hawaii cruise was cancelled, and I am waiting on port fees and taxes to be refunded.  I had a couple odd amounts that were refunded to my credit card.  I called the Crown and Anchor phone number, and the lady said the odd amounts that were refunded were for travel agent commission.  Why would I be getting more back than what I paid for the cruise.  This does not make any sense to me.  I had 2 rooms booked, and she said it was for just 1 of the rooms.  I asked if I would also be getting this for the other room, and she said yes.  Why would I be getting this and not the travel agent?  Sorry; but I am confused.  Thanks in advance.

  4. It does depend on who you get on the phone.  I had one that I booked early Monday morning directly with Royal for July on Oasis planning on moving to June next year; so we can take our granddaughter.  Very limited on when we could get her.  I saw others were having luck moving same day; so I thought ok.  I gave it a try Monday night.  They said you just did booked it, and this one would not be eligible.  I asked how long I would have to wait, and she said said I would not be able to move it.  SO I cancelled.  Yes I know I have to wait for a refund; but last night I booked with the travel agent I usually use big box store.  They have always been wonderful.  My husband called today while I was at the dentist and the cruise ship rep told the travel agent you had to wait 72 hours.  I decided to call back after work tonight.  New strategy.  I opted to lift and shift my November Allure trans atlantic cruise (booked the day it went on sale) also.  I had them do that one first, and then the Oasis.  Not a problem.  Everything worked perfectly, other than waiting for my refund from the one I cancelled.  It actually worked out better.  I am getting a soda package for 2, Johnny Rockets for 4, Chops or the Italian restaurant for 4, store $ card, and a spa treatment included, That was a surprise when I saw the invoice.  I just wish they could give everybody the same answer.  It pays to keep calling.  I was just concerned my July cruise will be in the next round of cancellations, and I would not be able to do this.

You can move names around and keep your dad on the listing and he just ends up a no show, but I'm a little confused what you mean by "find 1 friend that can be added in place of the person that moved into your parents room."    You can't just have a random person show up at check-in who isn't on the reservation.

Correct, but they could add another person in place of the mother ahead of the cruise.  Before the deadline.

  6. Like others have said, you can change one of the names in your parents room.  I would move one of your family members into that room, and have your dad be a no show.  You could then find 1 friend that could be added in place of the person that moved into your parents room.  Once on the ship you can get extra keys for those 2 people.  Keep in mind whoever is rebooked to your parents room would get double points; since they would technically be sailing solo with your dad being a no show.

Our old knees made us opt for a seat at a table. We were in the middle - great view.

The only downside was if we wanted to take a pic, we needed to wait until someone in the front section sat down or walked by. Not a big deal, but something to think about.

Thanks for your advice.  I have opted to change ours to the table seating.  I forget we are not as young as we use to be.  We are not cruising until next September; so since seating is based on when the reservation is made, we should be in good shape I hope.    Again, thank you for posting regarding your excursions.  I have cars reserved at each port, and more than likely we will be touring on our own most of the time.

  8. Normally we do not get the photo package; but the price is really good.  $119 for either digital or print package and for $159 you get both.  We get 1 free photo each; so I am debating if I should just get the digital package, and then our 2 free photos; but then again, for $40 extra; it is probably worth it to get them all printed.  This is for an 11 day cruise.

  9. Hi,  We are needing transportation for 6 going from Cape Liberty to Springhill Suites 338 West 36th St New York City.  There will be 6 of us, more than likely 6 large suitcases.  Looking for something economical, that would not take too much time.  Would splitting into 2 Uber/Lyft be less money than trying to fit all of us into 1?  We would prefer to go together; but it may not be worth the additional cost to get a larger vehicle.  Last year we took Lyft when it was just me and my husband.  I am not opposed to getting transportation to Penn Station NJ and taking the train to Penn Station NY; but not sure if that would really be any savings, and how much additional time it would take.  We only have 1 day for the others to see the sights of NYC, and they have never been there.  Any suggestions would be appreciated, and approximate cost.  Thanks.

  10. I agree with what the others have said.  We cruise again on Anthem the end of August; but the shows have not opened up yet for our cruise.  We have others going with us; so I will be sure we book each one, and they can decide for themselves; if they want to stay or leave.  What date are you cruising in August, and when did the shows open for booking?

  11. Thanks for the reply; so basically there should be no difference in points received whether the 2nd person is a no show, or is cancelled from the reservation before the cruise.  You should get 3 either way.  A friend of mine only received 2 points per night in a Jr suite where she as booked with her daughter.  Her daughter could not make the cruise and was a no show.  I will tell her she needs to contact Royal to make the adjustment.  Thanks.
