  1. I am on an Oceania Cruise that ends in Haifa, Israel in September. We will be staying two days after for a tour etc.

Reading about Israeli entry requirements, it says you have to fill out an entry form (available on line). Is this still required if you enter by the cruise ship? And/or, does anyone know if Oceania will supply this on board for filling out on the ship. Thanks.

We’ve already established that O notifications are never to be fully trusted. I doubt that Ortega actually writes them (or does the “cut and paste”) but this stuff comes out under his name and the least he could do is to make sure it gets proofread.

That said, anyone who believes second to third hand unpublished info from an unidentified source deserves what they get when they are possibly refused boarding.

If for no other reason than to be fully insured while also contributing to protecting public health, do a pre-test.

Oceania doesn’t require testing, so how could I be refused boarding? Insurance is the main factor for me. So I generally agree with your comment that they could refuse compensation if you didn’t get a negative test before boarding. Fully vaccinated means, most likely,, no hospitalization, or death. Check the numbers

(if you can find them, the CDC doesn’t give out this important information easily, or readily, but other responsible health commentary is out there) we are getting back to colds and flu’s. And not going to experience Fauci’s comment and I quote “ we will Never do a hand shake again”. So irresponsible!

  3. Are you sure about the comment that if you don’t get tested and then come down with Covid, you can still effectively still get reimbursed? I understand the logic that you could get it from someone else on the ship. And how could they prove it otherwise? Also agree that Oceania missives have confusing language. I have a cruise coming up in 2  1/2 weeks in Malta and my boarding pass says bring your negative tests results to the ship, In spite of the decision not to need a test, as of August 1st.

Ok...don't shoot the messenger here. My O connected TA talked to the person who writes the FCC's for those who get sick while on an O ship. He said that if they are no longer requiring testing the clause that state one's won't be reimbursed, if not tested, no longer applies. It was a cut and paste document and that was a leftover from a prior policy.

The bottom line being that if you bring a negative test with you Oceania won't care and it doesn't make any difference. Think about it. If they aren't requiring negative tests from everyone then one could get covid from a fellow passenger who brought it with them....and O is willing to accept that risk.

So, test for your own peace of mind, if you like, but it won't matter one way or another to O. You wouldn't be able to prove where you got it anyway. I got it in June and it was sick 3 days before I tested positive. Weird virus.

  5. Cruising on a 10 night Nautica trip in late August. Trying to figure out a dining time. I believe the Captains reception is the second night ( in my case this would also be an at sea day). Is this correct. Also, what  time does it start? My recollection is about 6 and goes to 7:30. Would schedule dinner after. Thanks.

  6. Thanks. It’s tied to the size of the ship and therefore Specialty Restaurants on board and days. IE. Nautica: 2 reservations per restaurant ( as only 2 Specialties) and Riviera (Vista, not listed, but same size), 1 per restaurant (4 Specialties, I assume for Vista) and under 18 days.

  7. I have Concierge Level on the Oceania Vista 16 day sailing October 16, 2023. It says though that I am only entitled to 1 Specialty Restaurant reservation each. With my August 25, 2022 10 day sailing on Nautica, also Concierge, I have 2 reservations each for the Specialty Restaurants. I know there are only 2 Specialty dining venues on Nautica. But Is this a Policy change at Oceania or a possible typo? The Vista sailing is almost a third longer trip.

I would say that if you wish to have masking as a personal choice go find a cruise line where masking is optional.  Please do not come back here and complain after you are infected with COVID, You will get no sympathy.

Sorry to disagree. The current variant is much like a cold or flu. What did you do for the previous years when you got sick? Yes, an issue could be quarantine, but that is a particular risk I’m willing to take. You have to understand the criteria. The preponderance of people with the virus today are Not being hospitalized. And those that are were either Not Vaccinated or had a previous condition. That is why the CDC (finally) has reduced their rating on Countries and on Cruise ships. I don’t care if you wear a mask or not. But your risk of a serious condition, with Oceania requiring vaccinations and prior testing, is extremely low. Give us the Option Oceania.

I have looked at this document and I quote

Here is the quote from Oceania SailSafe

"For all voyages embarking from European gateways, EU regulations mandate that all guests must wear face masks at all times when outside of their stateroom or suite except when actively eating or drinking."

I am certainly not anti mask in the correct circumstances but Oceania is deliberately misleading us by stating it is an EU regulation.

I hope Oceania Management is monitoring this discussion (as I believe they do) and corrects any misinformation. I too was surprised that they stated it was a European Union issue as it appears it is not a mandate. Ok Oceania: give us the facts. I recently had a cruise on Celebrity to the Carribean  ( not Europe, I know) with no masks required and there were No issues. Also, the incidences of hospitalizations with the new strain are very low. Are they using this a part of their decision making? We have to get back to some form of normalcy. I advocate for  masking as a personal choice. Have an Oceania cruise in Europe coming up in late August. I hope the policy is changed, as stated.

  10. I have twice tried to upload my CDC Vaccine info. To the Summit’s App and keep getting a note saying “ there is a problem with you vaccine information”. Has anybody else experienced this? And if so, what was the remedy/resolution? We are still going to bring our cards to the terminal and I assume that will suffice. But want to avoid any unnecessary delays at embarkation, if possible.

I don't think it is phone dependent.   I just checked and also my April Silhouette is active but the Summit for August responds with We are Working on the Fun.    That is normal if they haven't populated the cruise.

Which March Cruise are you trying.  I just checked and can open March 14 which is the last one they have listed.   I don't have a reservation so I was just looking at
Ships we support and Summit Cruises.

I can now see some updated information for my March 14 cruise; November Cruise on Edge is updated too. Seems they are slowly inputting information for the Summit. Thanks for the reply.

Didn't see this posted yet.  It appears on my no fee Amex Blue Sky Card.  There are also offers for Carnival (HA, Princess, Seabourn), and Celebrity

    DETAILS

Get a one-time $250 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $800 in one or more transactions online at oceaniacruises.com, by calling 1-855-623-2642 or by contacting your preferred travel advisor by 1/30/2022. See terms.

Aren’t the key words “ online only”? I have a Celebrity offer of spend $500 get $150 back, but it says you have to book online. I booked through a travel agent and pay with my Amex Platinum Card through them. When I make my final payments and my travel agent pays Celebrity , will this qualify as an online payment?

Let's shorten up your thread title a bit to make it generic enough 😅

    Celebrity App Issues Summit

It seems to take close to the cruise date to get the app data populated for some ships/itineraries.  Just is what it is.  We waited for a long while before we saw anything in the app for upcoming Constellation sailings, though the explanation for that had the 'restart' added to the usual delays, but could see quite a bit on the web page.  Some weeks back, I could even see minimal detail for my Reflection October 2022 TA sailing before I could see anything for one coming up for this next weekend.

That said, still can't see all of the menus in the app for that cruise - 4 days away.  They do have all of the desserts, drinks, and wine in place for each night, though.  At least they have their priorities straight.

All we can recommend is patience, and until the app data is populated, suggest using the web based cruise planner if you want any details that are actually available.

    Ok. Thanks

  14. Yes. Just noticed this was an accessible cabin. But otherwise, it seems you would grab it if offered. We wanted an aft facing cabin all along, but it got mixed up in the rebooking to the Summit, so was trying to understand if there was any big  difference between

this aft facing cabin on 9 vs. deck 11. Thanks.
