  1.  Need  some views on the above Aqua Cabin # 9164. I just found out about a screw up on my cabin on the Summit  which was an aft facing one ( or so I thought) number 1131on the Summit. Unfortunately this is an aft cabin (Port side) and not 1130 which is an aft “facing” one. I booked this 7 months ago and just realized the mistake. We originally had 1141 on the Infiniti which is aft facing, but this cruise was cancelled and we had to rebook on the Summit. Any opinions on this lower level aft facing cabin on deck 9? Much appreciated.

  2. Any Intel out there on the Nautica return to service and her refurbishment update? ( Oceania “Next”). Very curious that all other ships, except the Regatta also, have had a return to service notice.

  3. I am on Sirena for the next 9 days if anyone has any questions

Le us know what you think. Would love to get a real time opinion of things. And I too am not concerned about the bathroom or cabin size-I know what to expect there. Are things working properly? Are the staff as good or better attitude wise as my remembrance form Regatta? What do you think of the Horizon's make-over? The combining of the two restaurants? Internet better as they said it would be? Shows upgraded as promised? Between the Princess apparent quality lapse and Oceania being bought out by a company that is squeezing costs out, am curious if there is a trickle down effect.

  4. Do you honestly think that one of the most attentive-to-detail cruise lines in the world, which had already converted three other R ships over approximately the last decade, is going to spend millions and "miss the obvious things?"

We like Oceania's R ships and, because, we are sloop sailors at home, cabin size is not a big deal for us. However, the quality of cabin amenities from mattress to soap are. As for the food, it's Oceania - you'd be hard pressed to find better food elsewhere at sea.

I trust that your upcoming cruise will find you loving Sirena as much as you did Regatta.

Check out the reviews and then tell me what you think. I am only commenting on what is a less than 60% favorable rating which is very poor. If Oceania had a tight deadline (which it appears they did) perhaps they did scrimp. How about Royal Carribean's fiasco with the roll out of the biggest ship in the world. It can happen. I just hope they fixed things by now.

  5. Has anyone else noticed the decidedly mediocre reviews Sirena has received so far? I know one of the really bad reviews focused on missed ports and there is the usual back and forth on food. That said, there seems to be a fair amount of carping about condition of the ship as a whole, the smaller cabins specifically, and even about service. We've only been on O once and that was the Marina so I don't have any R class experience to balance comments about a refurbed R ship; or, a recently refurbed ship of any sort. Anyway just looking for thoughts of folks with more relevant experience than me.:o Based upon our past experience with O, DH and I talked friends and family into a 12 cruise aboard Sirena early next year. These reviews are making me a bit uneasy.

Thanks for allowing me to whine:o

I have been watching the reviews too and they have not been great and on average keep going down. My concern is about the bathroom smells from back ups and the like as I know the size of the rooms. I hope the more recent cruises have cleared up things like this. I have an upcoming 12 night cruise in August. Was on the Regatta before a few years back and loved it. Am hoping that for $50MM they didn't miss the obvious things and that the crew, food and other issues have had their games upped to the level we deserve for the money paid.
