Another sailing ship that might be in that neck of the woods in 2023 (as she's scheduled for 2022 at the moment) is the sailing ship Golden Horizon (Tradewind Voyages) this was the ship that was scheduled to be the "Flying Clipper" but Star Cruises pulled out of the deal.
I'm going to give it a try out in July up the west coast of Scotland, I'll report back 🙂

Giving her a try out in July, up the west coast, it's not going to be exactly tropical, but had to give it a go 🙄

I see Seajets have added these two to its portfolio, it now includes the Ryndam, Ocean Princess and Majesty of the Oceans
I meant to add they also acquired both the Magellan and Columbus in 2020 but sadly sold them for scrap

I usually cruise on Riviera or Marina but have been on Insignia and Regatta. Think it is really nice to get a dedicated Red Ginger on Sirena. Those washrooms on o/v, balcony and Concierge are small. Like someone else said, if you can splurge for a ph, they are a really nice cabin size with a decent sized bathroom.
Thanks again everyone !
I guess if a 6' 6'' cruise salesman can sneak in to the shower I should give it a try 🙄
managed to find an aft veranda stateroom on deck 6 so with that wee bit of extra space
an al fresco rain shower could be an option 🤣🤣🤣 if all else fails !

The foot print of the cabin has not changed they did put a glass door on the shower instead of the curtain & upgraded the mirror & vanity etc..
3 minutes ago, KS&JW said:NEXT did not make the cabins or their bathrooms larger. The layout is the same. They upgraded the bathrooms with shower doors versus a curtain, and the sink area was also upgraded to better materials. The toilet is still at the odd angle as that cannot be changed. NEXT mostly changed the colors of the ships with lighter colored furniture and fixtures
Thanks for the information, it sounds like they still suffer from the "size" problem then?
We found an interesting itinerary which we like but I'm concerned about how practical the bathroom
would be for me (6' 4" and not exactly a "bean pole" 🙃 ) ?
We maybe have to re-think and re-plan ?
Thanks again for the help !

Since the OceaniaNEXT refurbishment of the R Class ( particularly the Sirena)
What, if any changes, have been made to the layout of the cabins/bathrooms in the
"standard" cabins ( i.e. below suite )
It's just I've read so many stories of the shower being too small etc etc and wonder if
there has been any improvement in the layout
Thanks for any input :0)

We are trying to find reasonable airfare from either Orlando, Tampa or Fll/MIA to London. We live in Tampa but can easily fly from these cities. Norwegian is by far less than anyone else for Premium Economy but Norwegian is having financial difficulties. All other choices are 2k plus PP. I have checked with Choice Air and other booking sites, and they are all very expensive. This alone is more than likely going to prevent us from sailing T/A on Silly from Southampton in Oct of this year. Any suggestions on anywhere else to look?
You can't book direct with this software but it allows you to search multiple departure points and arrival etc, usually throws up some interesting options.

If you find something talk to a TA to book or find it direct with the airline

I see you also know about Low Carb beers 🍻....
I will probably go with Miller Lite as it has 4,2% alcohol compare to the Bud Select 2,4% alcohol.
FYI in the low carb beers if ever they have Corona Premiere or Amstel light those are good runner up as well.
Thanks
sea ya
I've seen Amstel Light on board, sometimes on draught too 😎

I guess you are thinking about the Viking "Mediterranean's Iconic Shores"?
It looks a really comprehensive intinerary, just about covers all the stops in the Med and then more!
So for that alone I think Celebrity would be hard pressed to offer anything matching even doing B2B's
Our experience with Viking Cruises was last fall in China, it was our first Viking. I have to admit I found it quite different
from Celebrity, the atmosphere on the ship is more "homely", obviously the ship is smaller, which contributes to this, but its
also the way you feel like you're treated as an "adult", very few announcements, you are expected to make your own way to catch your excursion, no nickel and diming, just makes for a tranquil feeling around the ship, just no hassle, which we really appreciated.
Entertainment was pretty low key, consistently good. The included excursions were mixed, some very good and others verging on mediocre.( having said that, this is more a reflection our chinese guides level of english not the content.)
The food (I know, very subjective) was consistently good to very good, generally a very pleasant dining experience. (probably edges the MDR on Celebrity but not quite at a Murano experience)
All in all we had a really good experience on Viking.
Looking at the cruise Barcelona to Istanbul I would be tempted especially for the itinerary alone.
It might be very worthwhile you looking at a Viking cruise as an alternative.

Fortunately we had the SS package and found wines more to our tastes.
I can't find a confirmation of this, but this is twice that it seems to me that if you have the SSBP, there are additional wines by the glass available, at no additional cost, that are not available to people without the package. Is that the case?
Yes, those with the package can request different wines (as long as the they are sold by the glass) so for example instead of the "house" red, you could request a Brazin old vines Zinfandel, or a Trumpeter Malbec etc. etc.

Alternatively, hire a car, Hertz will delivery it quayside and allow you drop it off quayside...….extremely easy!
