Even when booking with EZAir, you have control over the exact flights you are taking and you have the advantage of being able to make changes without penalty within a certain time frame. Do some research on connecting airports and develop some knowledge of the airlines that serve your city and go from there. After you book, monitor your flights for any changes, don't depend on the cruise line or airline for timely updates.

I have booked several months in advance with EZ, which is great as we dont pay till a few months b 4 our cruise.  However, I monitor flight prices on google flights and they send updates on prices, so we can change from EZ to direct booking

Not quite correct. Perhaps you haven’t cruised with Oceania.

Thx 4 the clarification..No, I haven't cruised with Oceania.   I wonder if any other cruise lines allow pax to bring liquor aboard...interesting.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

We will stick with Doubletree in San Pedro who offers a free shuttle.

Shopping malls don’t appeal especially with our exchange rates.

We just need to buy some scotch for the cruise and probably walk the area and perhaps a bus to Long Beach

    thanks all

Presume that you know that you cannot take scotch or any liquor onto the ship.

Assuming your on Air Canada (Jazz) or WestJet (Encore) into Vancouver.  If so, then you don't go into the same line as passengers who started their trip in Vancouver.   There is a special area for connecting passengers that is significantly shorter and faster than those passengers who are starting their trip in Vancouver.

Bad news, is you will do security part again.  The only difference I have ever noticed, if for the US flight they want you to take your shoes off.

I am based in Victoria and regularly do this.  I can usually do the connection in under hour.  However it is very tight and there is no room of delay.

If you are coming into Vancouver on a different airline (e.g. Pacific Coastal), you will arrive at the south terminal and need to grab a shuttle to the main terminal.  If that is the case, then you will need the hour and likely a bit more time.

Thx 4 the reply..Very comprehensive and helpful...will probably take the 6 am flight with AC to Vancouver and then take a lay over of 4 hours... We are arriving in LAX 2 days ahead of our cruise, so have lots of time.

See post 4.   We stayed at  Vagabond before and are staying there again for two nights prior to our cruise.  ...it and it is a 2 star and for the price and the convenience of being so close to the port with a free shuttle and free breakfast, we definitely recommend it.  Check out trip advisor for comments.  No doubt Double Tree is more luxurious, but further from the port, no shuttle and free breakfast. If your are not on a budget, Double Tree may be suitable.

I've never heard anyone rec the Vagabond Inn in San Pedro. It is a very poorly rated 2 star hotel.

Given the length of your stay, I'd choose the DoubleTree Torrance. If you'd come in on Oct. 2, I'd say the DoubleTree San Pedro, which is a nice place in a good location.

  7. Have you considered the Vagabond Inn, a lot less expensive alternative and they offer a free shuttle to the port.  Breakfast is available on Saturday & Sunday, complimentary.  We have stayed there before and recommend it.

  8. Being  from Canada, we will not have access to a working cell phone, so will not be able to use Uber or Lyft.  We will be arriving in LAX two days ahead of our cruise, and plan on getting a taxi at the required pick up area so the transfer there is not a concern.  My question is getting from the ship to the airport.  We will get a flight back to Vancouver after 12:30 pm, so are not in a hurry to get to the airport.  Princess offers a shuttle from the ship to lax for $59.40 us $ per person which converted to Cdn. $ seems quite high.  The other alternative is taking a taxi, if available for less cost.  If we take the Princess transfers, how does this work:  meeting time, suggestions, etc.  Thx, Jim

I wouldn't be comfortable with it.

I agree..too much of a chance missing my connection..the next flight has a lay over just under 4 hrs..best 2 book that..west jet has a connecting flight but connection is 7 hrs..uggh but $300 less..too long to wait..will bite the bullet and use ezy air with princess to book for January 2025 and not pay till October..thx for suggestions

  10. Flying from Nanaimo, British Columbia and will be going through security there.  Will Arrive in Vancouver with a one hour 16 minute layover before having to go USA Customs/Immigration there and will connect with the same airline for our LAX flight.  Is this enough time?

  11. Flying from Nanaimo, British Columbia to Vancouver, BC to LAX....Connecting time at YVR is 1 hr 16 minutes but have to go thru US Customs there (already went thru security)   Is this enough connecting time?

Is your cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and if so, price the airfare into Miami which we found “much cheaper”. We rented a car from Avis (one way) and drop it off at Avis cruise port. Avis has a cruise shuttle to the various Ports. Keep in mind this goes back a few years ago as things may have changed by now with Avis.

No, we r sailing out of San Pedro, LA, but good advice

IDK why those flights would be missing, unless the max number of seats available to consolidators like EzAir were sold.

An option to try is to narrow down the selection and include your preferred airline.  That might show more options since the other carriers do not appear in the list. If you still don't find a flight you know is offered by AC or WS, then you need to book directly with them.

Tried that and I even tried booking one way, but the flights still did no show up...Really like the idea of booking and not paying until October for our January 2025 cruise, but still have lots of time to book..will probably book with WJ outbound and AC inbound as this gives us the better price....Seat sales have not appeared that far in advance and will probably not show up for awhile.

  14. I did not see the flights I wanted on EZ Air, but did see  them with two other airlines, West Jet outboard and Air Canada Inbound...Can EZ Air do the flights I want or do I have to stick with their recommendations?

We booked our Uber two days before while at sea.  There were people who had been waiting at the curb for 20 minutes and no promised Uber driver had taken their fare yet.  We walked right to the curb and got in our Uber.  I did see several taxis parked just down the sidewalk a short distance.

  16. Looking at taking a taxi to a San Pedro hotel in January 2025.  Do we still take the free shuttle to the LAX - IT to get our taxi as this is where most of the  the ride shares operate.  The web site is a bit confusing.
