  1. There's a certain 'something' about sitting at a large table that has a design and purpose for accomodating large parties that promotes an oppenness for me. Tables for two likewise have that certain 'something' that promotes intimacy. Placing tables for two mere inches apart, however, seems to violate both in a rather uncomfertable (cringe) way.

    Seeing THE tail

Oh, and the virgin cruisers! Living through them my first cruise again

Getting my Platinum and Milestone cards. Diamond in Feb 2017

And the crew, the crew are unbelievable. So kind and friendly

Just finding such inner peace and happiness while cruising

    Thank you Carnival

    Those are good 🙂

  3. I don't know what you do for a living, but if it doesn't involve video editing, you're screwing yourself. Excellent job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been on 8 or 9 cruises already, and your videos just made me feel like I've never been on one, and I want to go BAD!!!!! hahaha

As a matter of fact, you should send Carnival a copy of these two videos.... Their commercials suck compared to your work. Well done. I can't say it enough. Well done!!!!

Thank you for the kind words :) I'm not a professional videographer. I'm just an enthusiast. I'll be working on another one next week.

  4. ALRIGHT!

    Babycat is sailing again!

I am warming up the Roku already!

I'll watch for you on the PortNola webcam friday!

Roku!!! I can't wait to see what happens :) I'll be sure to wave at the camera ;)

  5. Hi Carol and Don! We're from Chalmette! We're sailing April 8th. It would have been nice to have met some people from the Parish on the Triumph. Enjoy your cruise!!

Well I'm not from the Parish but I am from the Westbank and I'll be on the ship waving goodbye!

  6. I'll jump in on this one being the semi professional hobbyist photographer. Your question does not have an answer. I mean what kind of camera is totally relative.

Money? How much are you willing to spend? Sky's the limit. Are going to use it else where and often? Or is this just for the cruise? Do you want a DSLR camera with interchangeable lenses or a simple point and shoot? But then you have to ask about quality of the photo because what camera you pick will determine your photo quality.

Do you want water proof? Do you want video capability?

My self? I strive for razor sharp, crystal clear, pin point sharpness on my photos. Photo's I can easily enlarge and frame to mount on my walls or to sell.

There are many questions to answer.

I agree. Add to that manual control of focal length, ISO, aperture and shutter speed for creative control. But the old saying holds true, the best camera is the one you have with you.

  7. It's difficult to watch other kids enjoy the pools while refraining from partaking in that enjoyment yourself and denying it to your young child. It's all for the greater good though. I suggest taking full advantage of the shallow beaches at the ports instead. They're much better anyway!

  8. I'd like to add that the ferry at Chalmette was used to rescue Katrina victims of St. Bernard. It was overloaded with injured and ill passengers when it travelled up River to Algiers point (that first big bend in the river which causes the ship to list so drastically to port side) where there were Crescent City Connection Police commandeered buses awaiting to bring them to safety. They (ahem, we) did this twice!
