  1. It’s like rolling blackouts, some areas will be cool then hot again the next day. Elevators and staircases seem to be warm most of the time. After speaking with several crew members, they claim it was cutbacks to save fuel. I don’t know what the real problem is but if this keeps up, Horizon will end up with a bad reputation. Not a way to get customers hooked on cruising and keep a business running. You want to relax, stay cool and enjoy the spaces.
  2. Aboard Carnival Horizon at the moment, there’s definitely A/C issues. During the day and at peak times, Lido is an oven. First night spent a couple of hours at Havana Bar, sweating bullets. Around 5:30PM yesterday, area around Bonsai was warm. Room has been nice but there’s definitely something going on with the public areas. Read reviews about the same prior to the cruise and refused to believe it but it’s definitely true. Having a great time, don’t get me wrong.
  3. With cruises under 5 days, there’s a smaller risk folks onboard will experience COVID symptoms before they get off the ship. They will find out a day or two after getting home. If you start with these cruises and the theory holds, no super spreaders on board, then you can slowly open it up. Longer cruises open up the possibility of folks experiencing symptoms and ending up in isolation, turning it into a super spreader event. It also puts the crew at greater risk, meaning, they too become sick and can’t look after passengers. Remember, they get tested often.
  4. FYI for those looking to test ahead of your cruise. I'm in the Miami area and Nomi Health is a big COVID testing provider that works at the County and State levels. Their response to my inquiry is below, as to whether or not testing would be covered for travel purposes and if not, related costs: "As long as you have a domestic address regardless of insurance, testing is free through Nomi in Miami-Date. Just bring identification or proof of address. If you do not have a domestic address, but have insurance, bring your proof of insurance and testing will be free. If you do not have a domestic address, and no insurance, the fee for a PCR test is $75 and the rapid antigen test is $50." You can schedule appointments with them via their website, including additional details regarding locations and testing. Hope this helps those in the area as testing for travel is no longer free in most places and is quite an expense.
  5. Have an Ocean Suite for an upcoming Carnival Horizon cruise. When there’s 4 in the room, where does the 4th person sleep? Is there a pullman or rolling in bed or does the couch expand to sleep two?

  7. I’ll be on at the end of July, did you get to try teppanyaki? Which spaces were hot? Seems to be an ongoing complaint lately.
