  1. Plan to call Royal to see what options they offer as well, with the idea that if I book through them, I'll have higher priority when debarking the ship.  Even if it costs a bit more money, I'm willing to pay it just to get there on time.  With that said, as far as passports, you don't need a Visa to travel within Europe if coming from the US?  For our 2016 cruise out of Barcelona, a Visa was not required.  Just checking to make sure  nothing has changed.

  2. We booked Hotel Antiche Figure for our upcoming trip, liked the proximity to Saint Lucia Station and port.  Hotel reviews are good, it will be our first time staying.  Good rates.

  3. I'll be on Rhapsody of The Seas out of Venice in July, booked an outbound flight for 10:55am.  For those that have sailed this itinerary before, do you think I'll have enough time to make my flight?  From doing research, ship gets in at 6:45AM and its a 20 minute taxi ride to the airport.  Would love to hear your opinion and how it worked out for any of you that have done the same in the past.

  4. So was the van a taxi or just a local offering rides? Sounds like there aren’t any taxis when you get off the ferry, on your way to Bacardi.

  5. Posting a reply to see if anyone has done this tour recently on their own? Other posts mention the use of taxis to get to and from Bacardi. Has anyone use the shuttle and if so, can you share the cost, frequency of round trips from ferry terminal to Bacardi plant? If used a taxi, what has the cost been for a round trip to and from the Bacardi plant?

  6. Pot and ware wash issues are concerning. Cleaning equipment not properly cleaned, leading to soiled items being put out for use.

    From the report:

    Site: Galley-Aft Port Warewash

Violation: The far right spray nozzle on upper auxiliary rinse manifold was completely blocked with food debris. The machine was in-use at the time of the inspection.

  7. We had a great time on Vista in Europe and will be on her again in March. Ship’s decorations are toned down, which I prefer when comparing to older ships. The possibility of eating inside or outside in many of its restaurants is a good advantage over older ships.

Deck 5 allows you to walk around the ship and offers good seating areas away from Lido. IMAX is great as well as the sports deck. If you plan to book an ocean view room, you can go with a deluxe and get two showers.

Havana Bar is the place to be at night, good music and atmosphere. Water park is a plus if you have children, not found on older ships.

  8. Anyone back from the above cruise? How was San Juan and the islands? I have to make final payment for our March cruise soon, want to make sure it is still worth it. Checked out some of the excursions and most don't have reviews since July. Not able to gauge what's available and/or worth doing at these ports.

Our 8 day takes us to Grand Turn, St. Kitts, St. Martin and San Juan. Any info would be greatly appreciate it. Especially if you done the itinerary recently.

  9. Wanted to know if anyone has visited the Bacardi plant in the month of December? How did you get to/from the plant? Was the ferry running or did you have to use other means of transportation? If the ferry is working, is the Barcadi shuttle running on the other end, to/from the port to the plant? Any info would be greatly appreciate it.

  10. Ships due back Saturday and Sunday will most likely not make it back to port... Latest cone of death has South Florida under Tropical Storm conditions by Saturday... Not sure what's the plan for 3 Day cruises this coming Friday, Bahamas will probably be off limits as well as the Florida Keys...

  11. We did a Mediterranean cruise on the Vista and the social plan worked well. On my recent Victory cruise, went with the value plan and it was awful the entire cruise. Not sure if the Victory has been upgraded but don't waste your money if you plan to cruise her.

Decided to pay customer service a visit but the lines were always long, forfeited $40+ dollars.

  12. My last cruise was on the Victory in early April and the room wasn't very clean. Drawers had hair in them, garbage bin had trash when we boarded and the corners of the room could have been vacuumed.

After meeting the steward, found out he was leaving in a couple of weeks. If you ask me, he had switched to vacation mode by the time we got on.

I noticed this is becoming a trend on the Carnival forum, hope they address it soon. My next cruise is on the Vista, let's see how that goes when we get there.

  13. I was just on the Victory, she's in decent shape and all her rooms have been redone. What I find lacking is specialty restaurants, after sailing the Breeze and Vista, it's hard to come back to these older ships. The same is true for onboard activities, bigger ships have a lot more going on to keep you busy throughout the day.

Besides this, we found the crew to be super helpful. MDR food was good as well as the buffet. The only two thumbs down are the shows. If you've been sailing with Carnival, you've seen these before. Welcome aboard show with the inflatable ship has really got to go.

Victory is due for another dry dock in Jan 2018, hoping they add some specialty restaurants and a water park like the Glory. If I had to choose, would go with the Glory.

  14. On the Victory two weeks ago, service was ok. We asked for twice a day, hoping towels would be replaced at night and the room refreshed. The room was for the most part in good shape when we would head out to dinner. Took our steward several days before he began to give us new towels at night. Given how long I've been cruising with Carnival, this is a bit annoying. I could care less about the towel animals, use that time instead to give the room a quick refresh and replace used towels.
