Oh me too! We don’t really fancy the Galilee and we love a food tour 😋

Thank you so much for your reply. Much appreciated.
We will be on a Med cruise so I’m not anticipating much movement so I will stick with my selection.
Thank you again 🙂 -
We have just booked suite 909 but now I’m having second thoughts about the location.
From memory, I thought the Captain”s suite was approximately above ours. But now I’m wondering what is exactly above us and I’m concerned about any potential noise issues.
Has anyone any experience of this suite or ones close by?
Many thanks

The first chef is Kurt. We did an amazing SWTC in Kusadasi with him.

We have booked a cruise with flights included.
The flight is from Manchester to Rome, about 2 1/2 hours.
We have just noticed that instead of flying direct, we are now transferring via Amsterdam on the outbound with a 1 hour 20 connection. On the way home, we are connecting via Paris and won’t arrive home in Manchester until 11:20 pm.
A quick check shows there are many direct options available. As we booked this cruise in October last year, I feel that both flight changes are unreasonable. These alterations were made on 1 April, looking at our ATOL certificate that was sent through, but I’ve only just noticed as this change wasn’t highlighted.
We stand a good chance of missing our connection on the outbound, and the inbound flight lands 15 hours after we have to disembark the ship.
Our TA has contacted Head Office and we are waiting to hear back. I am already stressing that we will miss our connecting flight, and therefore the start of our cruise. And the way home takes so long it will negate any happy vacation vibes! Final payment is due next week and we are thinking of cancelling if they can’t offer any better alternatives.
Has anyone else had this situation? -
We will still go for our test on Friday as we’ve paid for it now. And I would need to see the website updated. I do feel it’s unreasonable for Seabourn to move the goalposts so close to our sailing.

Has anyone had any success in completing the Portuguese passenger locator form for arrival back to Lisbon at the end of the cruise? Seabourn say this must be completed before we leave, but the Portuguese PLF says I can only complete it 96 hours before arrival.
-
Thank you for your replies. We have decided that this would be the ideal cruise for us when we have retired. At the moment, when we only have limited annual leave, we think we need more ports on the itinerary.
Another med cruise it is then 😆

We will be a party of 6 and my sister has her birthday in a sea day. Hopefully the weather will be good. What are your recommendations as to what to do? Best places for lounging? Are there cabanas we can buy? Best specialty restaurant for the birthday dinner? Any suggestions to make her first cruise memorable would be greatly appreciated.

We are considering an 18 day cruise, during which there are 6 consecutive sea days. I wonder if Seabourn lay on any extra activities? The thought of the sea days is giving my hubby the heebeegeebees 😂

i contacted customer relations on 4 October regarding a cruise I had just disembarked from. I had an automated response saying that they would be in touch but not to chase them.
I haven’t heard anything else and wonder what your experiences have been regarding response times?

Just back from 10 days on the Encore. My quick thoughts:
- the service was fantastic, not so much use of our names but we did not mind
- the food in the MDR was wonderful and the service, particularly in Alex's section was outstanding. Attentive but not stuffy.
- we grabbed one of the prime sofas on Deck 10 on a sea day at 11am. Yes the Patio Grill was mobbed at 1230 but we expected that
- the Observation Bar cocktail lady, Vicjtoria was amazing
- we never waited around anywhere for drinks for longer than a couple of minutes at the most
- our British tastes did not match the TK Grill. A very disappointing meal of an inelegant veal steak, an uncooked bone marrow croquette and an accident involving a dropped gravy boat didn't help.
- lots of comments about the point of the Retreat
Yes we noticed one or two cutbacks, but it certainly didn't spoil the cruise. We had an amazing time!

My husband is thinking of booking a massage as he is a silver member and gets a complimentary massage.
Does anyone know how long this is for and how to book it as it doesn't appear on the online spa menu.
Or is it that mini massage that they sometimes do by the pool?
Many thanks

I still haven't received any response from Celebrity. I originally sent a complaint using the web based form, which was automatically acknowledged. I need to contact the US Customer Relations team as my cruise was booked through a US based travel agent. Does anyone have the telephone number or email address of the US CR team please?
I am starting to feel mightily peed off that I haven't heard a thing. It's very poor service.
Many thanks
-
I won't bother you with the details, but I wasn't happy about how our complaint was dealt with onboard.
I wrote to Celebrity online the day we got back, on the 18 June. I got an automated response saying they'd received it and would be looking into it. Fair enough...
I hadn't heard anything else, until two days ago, when I got a survey to fill in about how I felt the post cruise guest relations had dealt with my issue!!!
Err, they haven't even been in touch? I've checked my junk folders, nothing there. I emailed them back straight away, but they haven't replied.
This survey is sooooooo tempting, but I'll wait another day before I complete it!!

On our free day in ATH, we took a taxi to the other side of the port to gates E8, where we caught a seacat to Aegina. We spent a beautiful day walking around the port area and small museum. It was lovely to get away from the crowds and the other cruise tourists.

We disembarked at 0730 last week. RomeCabs had us at FCO airport by 0820. The roads weren't very busy at all. I hope that helps.
What I would say is why do people self disembark after 0700? They clog up the lifts with their huge bags, and are clearly struggling. Its quite exasperating when you are waiting for a lift and can't get in because of the suitcases. The staff are so efficient at Civitavecchia, the bags are always there waiting for you in the customs hall.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. We are going to upgrade :D:D
-
Can anyone recall how much it costs to upgrade on board from a classic to a premium package?
Many thanks :)

Thank you. I am looking at the UK website which is showing the old itinerary. I guess they'll update it when they feel like it....
-
Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere.
I'm just looking at a Reflection cruise next year around the Med. On the Celebrity website it is the same as the slightly amended one for this year, with an overnight in Athens. Looking on a different travel website it is a completely different and much more appealing itinerary with an overnight in Barcelona!
Does anyone know any more about this?:)

Solis Experience on Quest
in Seabourn Cruise Line
Posted
We had a so-so meal at Solis the other night. I don’t think they’ve nailed it yet.
The first waiter explained the menu, saying on most dishes no side orders were needed. The second waiter said side orders were needed on all dishes, not just the grill menu.
Our salt baked fish was poorly filleted, and did not live up to the hype.
Our empty wine glasses were ignored and it was difficult to get someone’s attention.
Our black cherry dessert was prepared at our table with little care or theatre. One of us got most of the cherries, one got most of the kirsch, and one of us got mostly ice cream!
On the positive side, the bread sticks were lovely, and the lobster was amazing.
Day 7 and we still haven’t been addressed by name anywhere on the ship. In Solis we were greeted by our suite numbers!
However we are not letting this affect our cruise, we are having fun!
