  1. Our last Alure trip the cabanas were listed as sold out upto 4 months before the cruise. Then 4 weeks out 6 were re-listed. 2 over the water. A keen eyed CC member spotted the listings and we snagged an over the water. The rest sold out within a few hrs. I can only guess they hold some back for the suit guests them release them when then can't sell them.

It was a magical day. Well worth the cost.

  2. Just my 2 cents worth I don't think it is worth it. But that's OK because there are many others that will pay for it.

I honest think it was one if the highlights of our trip.

Well worth the $250. But if your not a suit guest then they sell out very fast.

IIRC there were 7 put up for sale a month before our cruise and they sold out in 2 hrs.

  3. If you take Independance of the Seas which can carry 4370 guest plus 1370 crew and has 30 life boats that about 191 people per boat, she also has a number of life rafts which are the white pods on 5 deck which are normal a 25 man life raft, I think the would be room for everyone. I'm ex Royal Navy we use to have enough life rafts for 125% of the crew.

  4. I am a keen poker player, play in 2 different leagues each month.

Was very excited to see the tournament on the Allure last July. That was until I actually sat down to play. It was more akin to bingo than poker. Final prize was a cruise. Considering the money that they took in over the week it was a rip off. As mentioned earlier if your a regular poker player then you will be disappointed. If your just after a vacation gamble then you might enjoy it.

Better would be a private game in the of the bars. Not sure they would allow this. I ended up on the video poker. Big rake for the ship. No, outrageous rake for the ship but it was fun.

  5. I bet there were no stabalizers...can you imagine the comments from many cruisers about that? Nice pictures.

Hard as it is to belive, all Military ships come with stabalizers. Not so much for comfort, more for weapon platform stability.

Myself I spent over 20 years sailing the seas with the Royal Navy. Far too much of it in the South Atlantic. If a stab broke down there you sure did know about it.

Here is a link to a stab test aboard a British warship.

They are actually using the stabs to roll the ship, as opposed to keeping it steady.
