That does not sound too promising but thanks for the information! I appreciate your time in answering.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew if any of the beaches in Bermuda offered Cabanas to rent for the day. Thanks in advance for any insight!

My wife and I will be in Bermuda on the October 10 NCL Breakaway sailing. I was looking for a private tour for the two of us of the island. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to contact??
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, I do not believe so but I have only been on this cruise once before so I am not an expert on the area. I do not recall any other beaches in walking distance though. Perhaps someone else might know of one. I did go to snorkel beach and it was not a bad beach. You certainly can enjoy yourself there.

Hi. There is a beach right at the pier that you can walk to from the ship. It was not as nice as some other beaches but still nice enough and better than being on the boat! It is called Snorkel Park Beach. If I remember they do charge an entrance fee.
Have a great time! I will be there the week after you and can't wait.

The ship is pulling out right now

Wonder if NCL will issue some people onboard credit.
When Celebrity had a mixup with testing/paperwork for a cruise out of Port Everglades they issued each cabin either $100 or $200. I can’t recall the exact amount. That would be great but why would they issue obc? This delay does not seem to be due to NCL. I hope that they give OBC if we leave late on the 10/10 cruise!!

Could you have waited to be tested today? I don't think yesterday's test will count for NCL's help should you test positive at the port.
I is my understanding that you can get tested on Wednesday instead of Thursday so long as you leave a minimum of 24 hours to give the Bermuda government time to process the TA application. They recommended Wednesday to ensure turnaround time but it says no more than 96 hours before arrival.

I hope that they don't cancel it all together even if we can't go to Bermuda. I don't see why they would cancel versus going on an alternate route. It seems they would lose quite a bit of money by just cancelling when there are other alternatives. Especially since they don't have to give refunds due to port or itinerary changes. Either way, I am glad I have cruise insurance at this point!

I understand everyone's concern about being out of the $75 but I submitted my application today for my 10/10 sailing. I figure that I do not want to have an issue with them being flooded at the last second and not getting my application processed in time. Maybe being cautious but if I test positive the $75 seems to be the least of my problems. Just don't want to get caught up in a numbers game.

Ok, now I am very confused again. I am on the 10/10 sailing. I went to the Bermuda TA application and filled it out. It asks for passport number, cruise confirmation etc but I don't see anyplace to attach the negative covid 19 test (which I will not have until 10/7 hopefully). Are we supposed to submit and pay for for this now and then later upload the test results 3 days before the cruise or just wait until 3 days prior and then fill out the application and upload it then? And regardless of when submit it, I do not see where to provide the test results on the application.

I am on the 10/10 and live in Las Vegas but I found places out here that will turn around results in 30 minutes to 2 hours. The cost for the place I booked was $199 per person. I did it that way so I did not have to stress getting the results in time. I would just google rapid PCR testing and i am sure you will find several places. It is not fun to spend extra money but it is a lot less stressful than hoping to get results in time.

This is a bit of a personal choice but I much prefer Bermuda to Mexico. Bermuda is a much nicer place to visit but the testing definitely causes much more stress. I am on the 10/10 cruise and my hope is that once we get there and pass the pier test it will be stress free from that point on. I don't really find the ships to be vastly different so I would choose the Breakaway based on destination.

That sure looks like it will work. I can’t find anyone near me that offers that.
Great. I appreciate the input because this lowers the stress levels for my wife and me. Unfortunately it will cost $400 but the peace of mind is worth it. This process is making things much more stressful!

Hi. I’m on the same cruise. 😃
First off, I’m curious how you found a PCR test with two hour results. The fastest guarantee I’ve found is 24 hours. Most say 24-36 hours. Please make sure this is a PCR and not an antigen test.
With regard to using the same test for both Bermuda and the NCL “72 hour” test there was a post on one of the roll calls from NCL that said that they would accept the “92 hour” test required for Bermuda. So a test on Wednesday should work for both. Also, I don’t know if you’re traveling into NY for the trip, but note that NCL,s rule applies to 72 hours from your “travel date”, not the embarkation date. I haven’t seen confirmation of this, but a clean read is if you fly into NY on Saturday that is your “travel date” so a Wednesday test should work for that as well.
As far as NCL paying for both tests done on the pier, I assume they’re paying for both, but haven’t seen confirmation for sure about the PCR test required for Bermuda.
hope that helps and if anyone has other information please post it. Including how to get the results of a PCR test in two hours. 😃
This is what the test claims :
-
$199 - Rapid COVID 19 Active Virus (RT-PCR); once a sample is collected, results take approximately 30 minutes
I fond 2 or 3 other places in Las Vegas that claim the same turnaround. When I called this place they told me it could be up to 2 hours but as fast as 30 minutes.
The RT-PCR is what we need, correct??

I hate to have to ask but this all has me rather concerned. I am booked on the 10/10 cruise. I just booked an appointment for a rapid PCR test that will give me the results within 2 hours for Thursday 10/7. I am intending to use this test for both the Bermuda TA Authorization and the 72 hours test for NCL. Is there any issue with this? Also, do we pay extra for the PCR test at the pier before we get on this ship?
Thanks. This is all just very confusing and causes unneeded stress for everyone.

I am a bit confused on the Bermuda requirements as far as timing of the pre-cruise PCR test. I am on the 10/10 sailing. I am leaving Las Vegas on Saturday and the Cruise departs on Sunday. Am I correct in my understanding that I need to get tested on Wednesday before I leave or does it have to be Thursday? Sorry for the basic question but I truly am confused as to the requirement and don't want to mess this up as I can really use this cruise!!

I also agree. While I don't want to be political, NCL is doing the absolute thing in requiring 100% vaccination cruises. The worse thing that can happen to a cruise line at this point is a major breakout occurs on a ship. It will kill the cruise line with bad PR. I am booked on a cruise in October and would not sail if not 100% vaccinated. Like others have said, not perfect but as safe as they can make it.

Outside of breakfast we had tried to get some lunch or snacks at the Haven courtyard and the staff member working in there told us no. They told us to order room service from our room. But there were other guests sitting at the tables in there eating burgers, so not sure why they were allowed and we weren't. Our experience on the Jade was vastly different from our experience on the Epic.
Headed onto the Encore in about a month for the tie breaker cruise to see if Haven is 'worth it' (my gut is telling me an astounding 'yes').
I would be very upset with those answers and would suggest you talk to the Concierge if something like that happens again. I have only sailed in the Haven and have never experienced that type of answer/attitude. It is not acceptable and the Concierge should be the one to take care of that issue. Your requests seem to not only be normal and not out of line but to be the exact thing they should accommodate. I have ordered lunch at the Haven pool many times and was never told that I had to go to my room and order room service. I love the Haven and sail NCL over other cruise lines largely due to the Haven. I hope that you don't get this type of service in the future but certainly would speak up at the time if it happens so it can be addressed. Just my two cents!

Thanks for the info. IT gives me a decent idea of ranges.

I own shares of NCL but have never requested this benefit as I did not know about it. Who do you contact to request it? Are there any restrictions or conditions for it? Thanks.

Does anyone know if or when the Breakaway crew is scheduled to get vaccinated??

I had the same question and called NCl. I was told that they are in 500 ml bottles.
