Hello - I’m on Spirit in February cruising from HK to Singapore and I have a query on visas that I wonder if anyone can offer advice.  Do SS manage visas like most of the mega ships do?

As a UK citizen, I can get a 15 day visa waiver for Vietnam.  However, does this waiver cover me for several days of entry to the country as we sail down the coast line?  We don’t enter any other country during this part of the trip but we are at sea for 1 day between Chan May and Ho Chi Minh City.

We cruised between Singapore and Hong Kong over Christmas and New Year.  All three stops in Vietnam were covered by the 15 day visa waiver for UK passports.  We received an entry stamp when we arrived at the first port on 28th December and an exit stamp when we left the last port on 1st January.  We will arrive back in Vietnam on Silver Spirit on 4th February (just over the minimum 30 days between visa free visits).

This could spell the end of low single supplements for solo travelers. When Cunard was taken over the supplements went to 75% and when Seabourn was taken over the same thing . Seabourn use to have 25% supplements. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think any of the RCCL corp. lines do any type of discount for solo travelers.:(

The supplement is 25% on some Azamara cruises.

Please tell me not.  I am embarking Quest 8 March and expecting to end up in Yokohama, not dry dock at Sembawang Singapore.  What makes you think that she is in dry dock then please Riocca?

There appears to be a 14-night night cruise departing from Cairns on 8th March and arriving in Singapore on 22nd March.  There is then a 16-night cruise departing from Singapore on 29th March and arriving in Tokyo on 14th April.  The dry dock must be in Singapore in the week between these two cruises.

  4. Regent holds I think about 700 people. One bar was a total waste as they only had music there pre dinner. Another had pre dinner or post show at2245 for 45 minutes.

Cystral has c,over to 1000 guests, several public rooms besides bars with music, so it is a largers ship. Lots to do during the day,

Last November we cruised on Silver Whisper (just under 400 guests). There were two pianists and a trio. We had a choice of two lounges with live music both before and after dinner.

  5. We were also ones that were on the 2018 transatlantic that is now shorter, different date, and out of Lisbon now. We did move to that sailing and got our onboard credit.

I don't want to move my booking to this new 2019 sailing, until I see the new itinerary. My TA does not have the new itinerary and it's not posted. If anyone has it can they please post it here for me? Thank you very much!!

  6. After 7 cruises with Azamara we will be trying Silversea for the first time in November. We have booked a veranda suite for 20% less per night than Azamara are asking for an oceanview cabin in 2019.

  7. We can see the following cruises on a TA website -

14 night Transatlantic on 23rd October from Lisbon

Lisbon - Portugal; At Sea; At Sea; Horta - Azores; At Sea; At Sea; At Sea; At Sea; Hamilton - Bermuda; Hamilton - Bermuda; At Sea; At Sea; Havana - Cuba; Havana - Cuba; Miami - Florida

Then a 4 night round-trip from Miami on 6th November

Miami - Florida; Havana - Cuba; Havana - Cuba; Havana - Cuba; Miami - Florida

  8. 516 and 518 are shown as connecting suites on the Whisper deck plan (as are 511 and 515). We were offered 518 for our first Silversea cruise. We turned it down in favour of 514 in case the connecting door meant that we could hear the neighbours, although we don't have any experience of connecting suites.

  9. If you READ thru this entire thread you will see that is the topic of the thread. I and my TA have been telling Azamara this since February and I have been posting that on this thread I started since April.

    Kathy

We have READ through the entire thread. The post from Bonnie suggested this problem has been resolved. It obviously hasn't. Anyway, with only 6 hours in Cyprus we don't intend to take any tours, so we will not make any further comments.

  10. Good news re tours in Cyprus - there are tours!

    I've just received this information:

Tours for Cyprus have been created, although they may not be reflecting on the brochure yet.

Please direct the guest to view their My Azamara account for an up-to-date list of tours offered.

The following tours are being offered in Cyprus on the JR 4/26/18 sailing:

LM53 - 4X4 Jeep Adventure into the Cypriot Countryside

LM51 - Curium & Medieval Castle of Limassol

LM50 - Ruins of Curium & Wines of Omodos

    LM48 - Journey To Paphos

    Bonnie,

We have checked on My Azamara and these four tours are all shown as departing at 8:30 am. The Journey does not arrive in Cyprus until 12 noon!

  11. We booked our November 2017 cruise in June last year via Silversea UK. We paid in full to receive a 10% discount.

In March we noticed that the price had been reduced. We emailed Silversea to request a 5% refund. They replied saying that we also qualified for their two category upgrade promotion. We kept the suite we had originally booked for the price of one two categories lower and received a refund of about 25%.

  12. A TA website is now showing revised itineraries.

16 nights Singapore to Tokyo (29th March to 14th April) via Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taipei.

13 nights circle-Japan Tokyo to Tokyo (14th to 27th April).

  13. Did you book directly through Silversea?

Yes. We booked directly with Silversea in June last year. We received a 10% discount for paying in full, along with a price guarantee (very unusual for a UK booking). A couple of months ago we noticed the fare had been reduced by about 5%, so we sent Silversea an email asking for a refund. They replied saying that we also qualified for their two category upgrade promotion. We kept the suite we had originally booked for the price of one two categories lower, resulting in a refund of about 25%.

  14. Been on Silversea twice once to the grand prix in Monaco and second time to South Africa and safari. Both holidays were amazing and they are all inclusive plus you have a Butler no matter which cabin you book but it is very expensive.

The Amazon cruise we have booked with Silversea for November this year currently costs less per night than the Azamara cruise we would like to book for April 2019. We will have to see how the Silversea experience compares to Azamara.

  15. Isn't Silversea all inclusive? I saw one of their ships in several ports when we were on our Panama Canal cruise. It certainly perked my interest.

Our Silversea cruise doesn't include excursions and there is a charge for one of the specialty restaurants, but they have provided $1000 OBC.
