Just got assigned our room on the Escape 7/2/16 sailing! Excited to finally know where we will be.
-
We did this on another line last week and one of the nicest parts was being able to shave, shower, do my hair in the large showers and not have to do it in the small room shower (with three other people vying for time in there)
Was there a "shaving bar" for women to shave their legs? My wife's biggest gripe about showers on boats other than the Reflection is the lack of a bar to make shaving her legs easier.

I am going on my first cruise with a friend next month. We are trying to stay on budget and were surprised at the price of drink packages. I was thinking of having one of us buy unlimited drink package and share drinks. Is this feasible? Do they watch for guests doing this?
that would be unethical, don't you think?

Yes please.

Well, they have cruised several times and the older ones are just short of Platinum. The last time I sprang for two Grand Suites for 6 of us - the boys, their parents, and me. The 13-year-old LOVED the Suite perks and will be disappointed at a measely OV. But I figure getting his own room with his brother might make up for having to sail with the "lower classes". And I'm retiring in a couple of years so he needs to start resetting his expectations.
The other 2 kids could care less about room size, balconies, specialty restaurants, etc. Just give them a pool, plenty of food, and let them stay up late and they're in heaven.
I would just like to say that I like basketball and I like pools. I will be 35 in May.
Do you want another grandson? I am not asking for a friend. I am asking for myself.

The pastries are included (and fabulous) also. On our latest Reflection cruise they would usually have 3 different types of cookies, and if you want to take some back to your room, they would place whatever you chose in a little sack.
My skinny husband would load up on the Macadamia Nut ones, but I have to warn you - he gained 17 pounds on this cruise!
That's some good work, right there.

Thinking about the Reflection holiday cruise departing on Dec 31, 2016 since that would put my wife and I on the boat for both NYE and our anniversary in early Jan.
Any idea how long Celebrity keeps Christmas decorations up after that holiday is over?

why? again she should stay out of it!
remember no good deed ever goes unpunished
The problem here is that you assume that the OP wasn't asked about options to help the situation.
I'm not saying that there were, because I have no idea one way or the other, but I cannot rule our that possibility either.

...and the irony continues! How ironic in deed as you have intentionally singled my post to slam when post #6 and post # 7 stated the same thing.

I have yet to see any irony in this particular thread.
Rain on your wedding day is also not ironic, FYI. Damn you, Alanis!

Anyone know what "premium tea" is?
I have never seen this question answered on here. It is one of life's great mysteries. Akin to "chicken/egg".

Check your TV or the signs by the elevators to see how busy each place is.
Just so I know what to look for when I'm on the Allure in Jan., how exactly do those work? Sounds like a very useful tool.
Thanks in advance.

Currently, you must purchase the package for the entire cruise.
With the new plan, you can still purchase the package on board as long as there are 4 cruise days left. They prorate the price as well.
-
Well, if now only one guest per stateroom can purchase a package, what's to stop me, err, I mean people, from sharing beverages with one another?
Decency?

I really get a kick out of the typo in the thread title based on the subject matter. It reminds me of late night texts I received in college.

Newer is better. It's science. DUHHHHH.

Kudos to the Cruise Critic staff for asking the questions and getting the article written. Well done, indeed.
I think RCI also deserves minimal credit for at least admitting (finally) on the record to a media source that there was a current problem on the ship.
As for the customer service people... they give us the wrong information quite often, I feel (said as a guy that has only been booked on RCI for a few months now.) They told me, not once, twice, or even three times, but on 5 different phone calls with 5 different CustServ reps, that the Premium Beverage Package included the Freestyle machine on the Allure. They see that the PBP includes "fountain sodas" and think that includes the Freestyle, because they aren't trained/educated to know otherwise, when in reality it doesn't. There is even a specific FAQ on the RCI website that says that it doesn't.
Basically, I'm just saying that I don't think the CustServ reps are lying to anybody for nefarious reasons; I just think they are grossly under-informed about their own company. And that is a whole different issue that isn't much better if you think about it...

My husband and I just sailed on the RC Allure of the Seas Oct 20-27 for our honeymoon...it was the best vacation! Food and service was outstanding! Shows were great..what a gorgeous ship! Would do it again in a heartbeat! Can't wait to sail again one day with Royal Carribean :)

First and foremost, congratulations on your nuptials! Glad you had a great honeymoon.
Did you two do any specialty dining? If so, any comments (positive or negative) about those venues? Thanks in advance!
-
Not if you book the package online, although there are some mixed reports about people being able to do it once on board the first day.

Am currently booked in a balcony cabin on deck 12 of the Allure, but this thread has me seriously considering dropping down to deck 8.
Would cabin 8650 have an extended balcony? It looks like it would on the deck plans, but wanted to ask here to make sure. Thanks for any answers in advance.

Looks like I've got another thing to do on the Allure this coming January...

You always remember your first time. It is both magical and seems to be over way too soon. Then you just want to cuddle.

The Aqua Class Suites are the same as the Sky Suites except for the bathroom. AQ suite has a tub with a massage shower panel (same as the AQ stateroom + the benefits of AQ)
The Sky Suites got a tub with a rain shower (combi tub and shower).

Fantastic. Thanks!

Any pictures of the Aqua Class suites by chance?
Thanks in advance.

So, I am seeing 11/13 of the H9 (Spa Haven Suites) still available for the July 2nd sailing of this year. My wife and I would LOVE to be in those but I'm not about to spend 4k pp for them. My arm could be twisted to see me fork over about 2k pp for them though...
Do you think it is too far out to call the upsell number to see if we can get one for a cheaper upsell rate? Should I wait until late May/Early June?
Thanks!
