Ours have 4 microscopic diamonds.🤪 At least I think they’re diamonds, so small I can hardly see them. Now they’re plastic?

When we got ours I couldn't SEE the specks. 🙂 Was in line at the LA desk to complain when one of them caught the light "just right" and I realized there IS something there.

Never worn any of them, just sitting on my dresser mirror. 😞

  2. As @SuzD123 quoted, call them up and see what they can/will do for you. You won't get ANYTHING you don't ask for and MAY be pleasantly surprised if you plead your case.

Having lost a 43 year old co-worker to pancreatic cancer, I know it can be a wild ride. The money you may lose is nothing compared to having time with her.

Hoping for the best all around.

The sample menu shown on the website shows items from restaurants that aren't even on Freedom 😅

That's the whole point 🙂 It's samples of the "finer" restaurants across the fleet. All the ships share the same cookbooks/recipes so can prepare anything.

We did it once, and enjoyed it.

Interesting information.  (I suppose that could happen easily enough during heavy rains.)

I guess we were very lucky in January for our one week cruise, as we had no rain during our embarkation and disembarkation days.  Because of our experience this year, we will be using them again in January for a two week cruise.  Hopefully, we'll be lucky then also!

We've been using them since before Covid and while they HAVE had some issues, not the least of which is a sale/change of management and poor planning by the City of Galveston that ripped up all the streets around them for months to upgrade the storm drainage system. They let me rollover paid parking for 9 cruises during Covid without making me pay a cancel/rebook penalty. Been very happy with them and the website gets better every time I visit. Actually got a promo code email this week for 10% off if you book in April (APRIL10). As far as being trapped, at least their building is ABOVE the flood line, so you car might be trapped high and dry and NOT submerged like it can be in the garages closer to the terminals.

Depends on location, supply and demand.   Contact SpecialNeedsatSea.com and Scootaround.com for pricing.    Make sure you are comparing apples to apples.  Sometimes they will price it with insurance so you want to be sure your quotes are for the same thing.   Both companies pretty much offer the same scooters for rent.

PS. We have never opted for the insurance.....

YMMV, but 3 cruises were $355/9 nights (39.45) $342/7 nights (48.85) $318/5 nights (63.60) All out of Galveston, all the "Transportable" 3 wheel scooter. Also, they fit OK in a NON-ACCESSIBLE room. We do have to move the "coffee" table out sometimes.

  6. Just checked my pedometer and on our last cruise I logged 3-4000 steps every day and that was mostly getting to meals and main evening shows.

As someone else mentioned, it's nice to know she can go unassisted if there are things (like trivia in DW's case) that you don't care much for.

Is that the jewel b2b? I have a friend booked that. He quit flying and we have the 7 night mariner booked my 6 and the oct 12 harmony to coco cay booked together. That's the end of my booked cruises out of Galveston.  I'm trying to get moved to PC.

Just the 11 night part. We'll be on Mariner with you.

I'm looking at FLL for next year, since NOTHING looks good out of Galveston.

Now that is really a nice reduction. Even for a suite, its money in your pocket. I dont think I've got any that could go down. If they did I might have to leave the group rate and go nonrefundable so I just leave mine alone, but I didnt book at enough to see a price drop of $2400. Lol.

It's the "one of a kind" 11 night Southern Caribbean out of Galveston that runs over Thanksgiving. Was over nearly $8K when I booked it.

  9. Back in the day SOME of the major airline sites could be accessed from the onboard computers in the Business Center/Library/whatever WITHOUT buying internet. MIGHT still work, don't know, haven't tried.

By "in the day" I'm talking "Cyber-Cabin" days and if you're not old enough to remember that then "never mind" 🙂
