  1. Yes they are your personal opinions and that is what matters! I think it is great when people are honest and tell their true feelings regarding experiences on the ship. If you didn't like the food in The Manhattan Room well that is your opinion!

We are booked for the Breakaway and leave for London UK next Friday! This is our First NCL cruise and it's nice to hear positive things regarding the Haven. I think the key part here is having a relaxed, comfortable cruise where you are pampered and enjoy the ride.

Thank again for taking time to write your review and share with us!

  2. NCL has to be uniform with their decision.NCL has to adjust all passengers that are complaining and have been affected with the S7's on deck 13 to this date. Its not fair to move for free some and not others. This affects both the Getaway and the Breakaway.NCL needs to be fair. Not fair to those that booked so far in advanced before the ship was built and were given a wrong description.I think NCL reads these boards lets hope they fix this problem for everyone.I just booked deck 12 thanks to this thread.

We booked 13706 back in May 2012 for the TransAtalantic (we would be the 2nd set of passengers on the ship so no based on all the renditions it was represented that it was a standard balcony. I have been in contact with NCL ever since the first pictures emerged while the ship was being built about having a hull balcony.

After the float out I again was in contact (At least 4 different PCC) they all advised that it was a standard balcony. Then a few days ago we received an email/letter that it is a hull balcony and that they would arrange us to move to another lower deck - Which we did not want. However we did a very nice price for an upgrade to the Family Villa which will fill our needs. Maybe a little over kill - However it will be nice to be right in the complex.

This was another concern that was raised with the S7/S6 being away from the Haven Complex would the service be not up to par as say a S5/S4

I don't like the idea of the Haven Penthouses not having a separate dining/living area and the next best thing is the Family Villa - I wish the S7 Floor plan would be in the Haven :)

  3. Hope you don't mind me asking but was there a large upcharge?

The total difference was $801 total.

We called a few months ago looking to Upgrade to the 2 Bedroom and it was going to be $1500 plus lose our OBC however now they charged us just the $801 plus we keep our OBC - After the big scheme of things is not that much more. We would have gotten just a S5 however we wanted a separate living and dining area.

  4. I could be wrong but it looks like there is a table in the s7 category. But then again the picture also shows an open balcony! Even the decks lower than 13 are going to have an upper corner blocked.

Well per the S7 description you had dining area in the room,

where as the S5 You do not. Just a basic room with Haven Access.

  5. We were booked in 13706 for the transatlantic. Today we changed to a 2 bedroom Villa. We wanted a dining area in the room and the Penthouses in the Haven didn't offer that. Now our excitement can build as we countdown to April 30th.

We also though it may be quite dark In the room with the Hull balcony and one Porthole facing forward.

  6. I'm just upset now that I know my "forward facing penthouse" is going to look like an ocean view stateroom when you walk in the room! I understand we're going to have an actual balcony but I feel like we won't be able to see any scenery unless we're actually right up in the cutout!:( I really feel like s7, deck 13 should be cheaper than the other decks. I was also hoping for more natural light.

For now, I'm going to TRY to stay patient on getting some actual pics...I still have a LONG  time to wait til Oct 2014!!! Lol

I feel for you! We are on the Transatlantic booked in 13706. We have had this cabin booked since Feb of Last year! Over a year now I have been going through all the pictures. Speaking with PCC and they keep advising that it is not a Hull Balcony.

Oh well! Just going to enjoy it! All part of being the early adaptors

Thank you for the amazing review, It's nice to hear good things about NCL. We are cruising the first time with NCL in April for our honeymoon from South Hampton to NYC. I see you are from NYC any suggestions for hotels??

We tend to like Kimpton hotels and see one on Park Ave near Grand Central station is that a good area?

    Any help would be appreciated
