  1. I emailed them and requested a change in dinner reservations (we could only get Cagney's at 9:30 and didn't want to wait to get onboard to request this) and emptying the mini bar. I also wanted to verify that we get two bottles of sparkling wine (1 for Haven and 1 for Latitudes level). Hopefully we'll get a response soon

  2. After getting anxious about bidding, I canceled all my bids and just upgraded to the category we wanted, then watched as it dropped $200 and then another $200 in price. $400 in total since Havens haven't sold much for our cruise that leaves in less than 2 weeks. Since they no longer offer OBC within 30 sailing days, we just upgraded from H9 to H5, which also dropped in price. Now the H5 dropped another $200, and H7 is now the same price we paid to originally upgrade to the Haven. I told my husband wouldn't it be great if the H4 came down to that price. Outside of credits, one can only upgrade to a point 🤣

  3. I'll be on the Breakaway deck 15 in a Haven penthouse with balcony on an upcoming cruise - specifically Room #15126. When I look at the deck plans it looks as if the rooms are on top of the fitness center. How are the haven rooms separated from the rest of the common space on deck 15? If we dine in the Haven's restaurant, do we tip the server at the end of the week or nightly? Thanks everyone.

When is your cruise? We'll be in that room in 2 weeks on the BA. The fitness center is also on Deck 15, but not in the Haven complex (you need the Haven keycard to enter the Haven area). The fitness area is also more starboard side, because we were initially on Deck 14 and made sure we stayed port to avoid having the treadmills over us.

  4. Depending on the time of your cruise (e.g. school vacation weeks or holidays), the Haven pool and sundecks can often be overrun with lots of children running around and completely taking over the pool and hot tubs.

If you are looking for a quieter, adults-only experience you might indeed want Vibe (fee) or even Spice H2O (no extra cost) during the day which is also adults only. It really depends on the makeup of the Haven crowd.

I'd hope they'd enroll them in Splash Academy! We're in the Haven second week of May and hoping we don't have kids running around [emoji47]

  6. We got a sticker when we checked in to show which tour we were on (Only one and my oldest wore it )

Soon we loaded up our van and were on our way.....

    IMG_1162.jpg

There was a total of 10 on the tour. We all fit in comfortably in the van. My husband sat up front and was the "bartender" of the van. There was free water, soda, beer and rum punch available at any time. DJ Dave wore a headset that broadcasted over the van's speakers so it was easy for everyone to hear him.

Here we are crossing the border to the French Side

We loved DJ Dave! My husband was also the bartender, and everyone kept referring to him as "Bartender" even after we got back on the ship ;p

  7. I'm a native New Yorker and have traveled all over and can say with a huge amount of confidence that we do have the best bagels and pizza.

What's humorous to me (and isn't that what's most important lol), is that we all mostly agree that it's the water, but none of us will drink it.

    Just an observation.

Sailing Escape July 1, 2018 and I'm already excited

I actually like NYC tap water :) But I fifth (sixth? seventh?) the notion that NYC/Tristate area pizza and bagels are the absolute best in large part to the water.

  8. I know it's double the price and wasn't initially something you bid on, but there's still a two bedroom family Villa on deck 15 available as an upgrade. Not sure how much longer that cabin will last, so if you really want to be in the Haven, it's an opportunity.

  9. So I am looking to take the May 29th- June 4th cruise on the Breakaway from NYC sailing to Bermuda. I was planning to book it first week of May, but I have been watching the prices for the last week or so and all the sailings to Bermuda from NYC have been fluctuating. Last year I got an AMAZING deal on the Gem a week and a half before sailing. I am not locked into that specific date but any suggestions on the best time to book last minute? 1 week prior 2 weeks prior? I am price watching daily!!

What category are you looking to book? Every sailing is unique, but to use May 7th as an example, insides dropped $200pp last week, and are back up again. After a decent price drop yesterday, we upgraded to an H9 from an M9, and the price of our old room went up $50, as it was previously sold out before we moved.

  10. How did you manage that? I saved over $1200 on the current price not counting the fact that I prepaid my tips at the lower rate.

I think the fact that there is still a large inventory of H9 suites available influenced the price drop. The H5 Courtyard also dropped in price, but I want the option of the spa, so I didn't upgrade to one. I'm curious as to how the bidding will play out, and when everyone will be notified since we're 18 days out.

  11. Wow! And did you get ALL the promos since you upgraded?

Much better than waiting on a bid. Very smart:cool: Congratulations!!!

Indeed! I also paid less for the upgrade ($870pp) than what I bid on the suite! I wasn't going to bid anything less than $900!

I wonder if I'll still be mailed the luggage tags, but assuming not, will print everything out. I'm also going to contact pre-concierge to get all of our requests squared away:)

  12. Has anyone stayed in 14136? Just upgraded this afternoon after an H9 price drop matched our bid, and rather than let me decide one a room, the PCC gave me this cabin after I insisted on a portside one (since the treadmills are above the starboard cabins and I've read a few reviews of the noise at 6am).

  13. Thanks! I unfortunately can't see your pictures! For some reason facebook says they are unavailable. Are you able to post them here directly? How was the room? What was the best part of it and something you would change? Also' date=' I have heard that the suites have complimentary bottled watter and soda/juice. Is this true?

    Thanks![/quote']

Hope this works! The best part was the balcony 😀8c7d633dd07230cdba4a74636c3a3309.jpgb1d03e049381f3ccccecc4af7d2b8c50.jpg9d56a9a28f4903e48aa48129b970d73a.jpg10e7c9c2e8c8468a19109ef7f65b8241.jpg735b7f897bddf805652f81687952b67f.jpg

  14. I would think it depends on what cabin you are currently in and if they have people that are willing to pay for that cabin. If you got a great deal on your cabin they might upgrade you if they think they can get more than you paid for it. Thats what I am hoping. I got a comped balcony-so maybe its worth it to them to move me up to get full price on that balcony cabin. I think theres a lot of different things that come into play, and there's no way to figure it out from our side, as we dont have all the info they have.

My cabin category(a spa mini) is sold out, so hopefully that helps, since I'm sure there are a lot of people bidding who'd like spa access and the larger bathroom.

  15. Good morning,

We sailing on the Norwegian Getaway in T-minus 10 hours!!!! We are very excited about this kid-free "Getaway"!!!

We officially received and email for an upgrade February 8, 2017. We were originally booked for a Mid-Ship Mini Suite with a balcony on Deck 13. We put in the very minimum bid of $400 pp for the H5 Courtyard Penthouse Haven Suite, and $450 for the H7 Forward Penthouse Haven Suite. We modified our bid for the H5 on March 10 to $500, and the H7 to $600 pp. On April 10 we modified out bid for the H5 to $760 pp; cancelled the H7 bid and submitted a new big for the H9 the Haven Penthouse Spa Suite to $450.

On April 13, 2017, we received an email saying that we got our bid on the H5 Courtyard Penthouse Haven Suite!!!!!

I hope this helps anyone out with their future bids!!!

    Happy Cruising!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! What range was your winning bid? (Fair/high-fair etc).

  16. I don't think you did. I had both bids on Haven and a bid for a mini for the Getaway and got the Haven.

I just booked the Getaway last Saturday for the 4/16 sailingand had also looked at the Escape for your sailing. There were so few Haven cabins available for your sailing. Perhaps others had bid higher than you.

I think they go by the best offer, and in this case, the best offer was for the mini (even if the Haven offers were really good).

That being said, we're currently in a spa mini and have biddings on H5 and H9, but will be perfectly happy if we remain in the M9.
