several months ago, John Heald stated there would be new amenities/perks for suite guests, but I haven't seen any, did I miss them? Anyone know anything about this?
NCL offers some extraordinary perks for suites, was hoping CCL would as well.

Again, we are leaving this Sunday and appreciate all posts.
The negatives were outweighing the positives so it is great to hear of your recent good sailings.
Much appreciated as I wanted to know what to expect and now I do!
We had a great time, the crew was VERY friendly. Our room Steward Marvin, remembered everyones name, called hubby "Sir Lou" and me "Lady Linda", cracked us up. Room was always immaculate, lots of ice. We had a meet and great and NCL has beaten out the rest of the cruise lines. Met the Senior Officers, had coffee, tea, soda, breakfast treats VERY well done. I can't believe how 30 or so of us met and bonded, it was like we knew each other for years. Yes, a cruise I won't forget. You know sometimes people just complain to complain, but then....you can't fix stupid! :)
-
So sorry to hear this happened! So what did they give you to compensate leaving a day late? We are sailing 12/6 hope everything is fixed then!
Lots of good people on this cruise, updates are posted on a regular basis.

No matter how bad, any day on a cruise beats working!

There is no "normal gratuity" for Butlers. They are not part of the Service Charge.
reviously $12 per person, per day, the new charge will be $12.95 per person, per day in all cabin categories up to and including a mini suite. Suite guests -- who receive the services of a concierge and butler -- will be charged $14.95 per person, per day in gratuities.
According to this, for 2 in a room the charge is about $30, what am I missing here? We always tip extra to our room steward and those that were good to us, but never $350.
thanks
-
They may not take it. When I was in a suite, I tried to give a tip the first day, and the butler wouldn't accept it. Told me to wait until the end and base it on his overall service.
Are you saying that you gave your Butler $350 IN ADDITION to the normal gratuity?
thanks

Just seen a post on my Facebook from a friend I went to high school with and who currently works for Carnival that prayers are needed for Carnival Sensation. From her status it doesn't sound good. Many people have commented on her status but she has not responded yet. I can't find anything in the news. Anyone know what is happening?
John just stated on his blog that it was traggic, unexpected etc and that a Care Team and grief counselors have been sent on board

can you tell o find out the prime what site I can use the pricing on the Allure for next October? And what site you all you to watch for price drops?

Carnival offered it a few weeks ago with the Diamond/Platinum offers with 100% of the fare being refunded as onboard credit. Keep in mind, you can also receive onboard credit from booking onboard and for being a shareholder.
quick question, I'm Platinum and didn't receive this offer, is there someplace special I need to sign into?

We've got all the "St. Clouders" together today. I agree, we like the Sensation as well. We are booked for Nov 6 for our next one. You'll have a great time.

Great review Alan....one question...will you be writing for Rick Steves or penning your own book....yes, I felt your reviews were top quality, fair, incredible pics. Thanks for sharing, we're on her from Oct 25 till she sails into Miami. I have printed all you posted on Venice, thank you SO much, that is one port that has so many mixed signals.

Linda,
I saved the list of Carnival excursions and will post to you later with what we did and how much it cost per person.
Karen
looking forward to your posts
-
Karen,
Which excursions did you do and please rate. Did you go thru ship or private? We leave in a few months, so will live thru others till then.
Thanks

but their prices were a lot higher than the store at the boardwalk and near the water shuttle pier. They also don't deliver until 4 pm and most ships leave before or close to that time. Just make it your last purchase before retuning to the shuttle.
I agree, better to shop on your way back to the ship; prices are less exensive than St Thomas as well.
There are lots of hotels that offer free shuttles and allow you to leave your car for free. Check with these hotels to see if they are currently offering this:
Sleep Inn Dania
LaQuinta Hollywood
Hampton Inn on 12th Ave in Fort Lauderdale or Stirling Road in Hollywood or in Plantation
Hyatt Place north or south
Holiday Inn Express Convention Center
Cambria Suites FLL
Fairfield Inn & Suites
Summerfield Inn & Suites
Homewood Suites
Rodeway Inn FLL (gets mixed reviews)
I had no idea there were choices! -
ok, I think I'm looking for something that doesn't exist. We're driving in to Ft Laud the day before our cruise on Oct 23, we are looking for a hotel where we can leave the car while we're on the cruise AND include transfers. The Renassaince in Plantation is a nice property but I've read they don't offer transfer to the port and back.
What's the most budget friendly way to get the hotel, parking and transfers?
thanks for your help.
