Yes - we have invited guests who were not Platinum to join us. As long as they accompany you or if you arrive earlier than them and you go to the door to bring them in they have been welcomed.

If Mumbai is your final cruise destination, explore a tour with an Indian Travel Agency, based in New York. They will arrange a private tour with a Van with guide and driver that will provide all the transfers and tours. No -- I am not in the tour business. We did a 10 days land tour SF-Delhi-Agra (Taj Mahal), Jaipur, Udaypur, and Jodhpur, Mumbai, SF, with such an agency. I think that the tour itinerary post-cruise for the $9,000 may be more than just Taj Mahal.
...
I asked about the ship's extension to the Taj. It is very expensive, about $9,000 for two. I don't know the details but it is a few days at a luxury hotel. I have to find out if they will take us to the airport in Delhi.
...
Any suggestions?

We enjoyed our 7-night Bermuda Cruise -- two stops 2 hours apart both in Bermuda. Two nights in Hamilton and one night in St. George. 2 sea days to go and 2 sea days to come back! I loved the overnight stays -- so few on cruises. /Sultan

Thanks for your quick and precise response. /Sultan
It is uphill from Canada Place to Robson Street. I wouldn't worry about the cab driver. The cabbies do these short runs every time a cruise ship docks. Lots of people take a cab from the pier to their hotels (most of them in downtown).Besides which, I think walking with luggage to Helmcken & Hornby is too far to do comfortably.

Starting at Canada Place and walking toward Robson St. (on Howe or any parallel street), is it level, uphill, or downhill? We need to go with carry-ons to Helmcken & Hornby. Would a cab driver be annoyed at the short distance if we took a cab from Pan Pacific? We would arrive on a cruise./Sultan

We were at Sutton Place (May 2006) and had no difficulty getting a cab at 5:30am on a Sunday post cruise. It was a quick ride! We did check with the front desk the night before and they told us no reservation was needed. /Sultan
We will be staying at a hotel near Canada Place (HAL has not told us which one yet) post cruise and will be flying out the next AM at 8:30, so will need to get a cab early Sunday morning. Will that be a problem to find one so early.....probably around 5:30 or 6 am. I am hopeful the hotel will call for one for us. We are at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver pre cruise, but do not know post. Thanks, gg -
I am always tempted (and often succumb) to try the Street Vendor Food when traveling-- the freshly cooked hot items (NOT salads or pre-cut fruits or iced drinks).
Nliedel: Good to find you on this thread! That is why I also "browse" the cruise buffets and sample any interesting items. /Sultan

Hot Spicy Mexican Take-Out from our favorite place. Fried Chicken and Fried Fish (Chinese). I have always wondered with crew of all the nationalities on board why Princess does not have some ethnic foods on the Menu in the dining room. Horizon Court often have these dishes. /Sultan
