Considering that a cruise ship massage costs twice as much as a land based massage therapist, it may be difficult to get reimbursed. If you need it for therapeutic reasons, wouldn't it be better to have the service closer to home?
Yes, it is much easier to get a massage closer to home but its such a treat to get one the ship. Yes, I do have a doctors note for it but at home there is such little time.

Another Canadian here. My employee benefits plan also include massage therapy up to what the insurance company deems a reasonable and customary amount per massage (anything over this amount you pay yourself) , as well as an annual cap. The plan stipulates the massage must be performed by an RMT and done in Canada. So even if performed by a RMT on the cruise, it would not be reimbursed since it is outside of Canada.
I didn't know that it had to be done in Canada. That makes sense. When I had originally asked our rep. at work about it, I don't believe they knew that it had to be performed here as well. Thanks!

Wow - I'm just impressed that you have insurance that would cover a massage therapist. That's never been an option for us with any insurance we've had; the best we can do is a limited number of physical therapy visits (forget whether the cap is # of visits or total $ charged), though those may include massage as part of the therapy plan.
Yes we are very lucky to have the coverage. Both my husband and I have it which is an added bonus :)

I was wondering if anyone can answer this for me..Last time my husband and I were on the Summit, we had a massage. We asked whether it was done by a registered therapist so that we could claim it through our work benefits for reimbursement. I was told that we could as long as we have the therapist number. I submitted a receipt with the therapists number, hand written on the top of my receipt, and it was not approved.
My question is, is there anyone out there who has had success claiming their massage? or other treatment? What process did you take?
I did do a search already on the subject and I only found one post dating back to 2011 who had the same problem I did on our first cruise.
Thanks!

Thanks for your input, but I must ask, why bother replying to a post if your reply is a critique on the poster? We are all here to talk about vacations! Why not keep it light and positive? If you feel my post is redundant and answering would be a waste of your time, don't answer it!
However, thank you for the information you did provide. I'm sure it will be helpful to me as I plan out my cruise.

Thank you for all the work you put into this. My husband and I enjoy a drink here and there but its a great idea to have some different drinks to try out!
-
Here you go! Enjoy your cruise and let me know if you are able to get all the drinks checked off! I will say that with a Med cruise, it will be hard to get all those drinks since you will be off the ship enjoying the ports for most of the days. Good luck :)
Omg thank you !!!! That's fantastic! I told my husband about it last night and he looked a bit doubtful...lol

Did you happen to have any luck getting a copy of the drink list?
I would love to try it if anyone feels like sharing?
Aghhhh, disappointed! Lol I'm going to have to cruise on the Equinox now to give it a try.We did not have any drinks on Friday before debarking, so our quest to try every drink on the ship ended tonight. Although we did not accomplish our mission, I think we did a pretty good job over the last 11 days. We drank about 3/4 of the drinks on the menus on the ship, and a lot of the ones we didn't try was because either we couldn't find a bar to make that drink or because the ship didn't have the drink on board (most of the wines!) It was fun to be on this quest, and our dining room waiters and sommelier as well as the bartenders we went to most often all knew about our mission and were eager to help us achieve our goals. Throughout the week, they asked us about our progress and helped to find new drinks for us to check off the list. You will also notice the little D or J next to each drink and a + or - sign... we marked off who had each drink (or used no initial if we both tried it) and a + if we loved it or a - if we didn't like it (no + or - meant it was neutral haha). At least now we'll know the best drinks to go for on our Eclipse cruise!! Here is a photo of the list at the end of the cruise...Up Next: Debarkation Day :(

Hi Dana, We leave on the Equinox in 2 weeks :) Our first time on Equinox and our 1st trip to the Med. Thank you for the GREAT review! Would you be willing to share a word doc or PDF of your drink list? My hubby and I would love to try it out! My email is katievriezen@hotmail.com

Thank you for the replies. I was wrong about the itinerary. Because the dates work better we are thinking of doing: Miami, Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Grand Cayman.
Any suggestions?

We are thinking of booking the 10 day as well. Can anyone take a guess as to what side of the ship would be better to book our room on? Any ideas which way we would be pulling into port? Last cruise we were on, we were on the starboard side and it just wasn't the same as pulling into port and being able to over look everything on the port side.
Hope that makes sense..:)

Thank you so much John.

Just wondering. .. returning busiest time, the end of march break for students and teachers to ontario, what are the chances of making a 1145am flight when docking at port Canaveral at 730 am off the Disney magic? What time can we get off the ship? The earliest? We have a group of us heading down but a teacher needs to catch that fight. Any experiences or recommendations would be great! Thanks<br />

Very cute neverbeen here...;) if only I could !
I know its not all that important which side and I know it varies. I just remember when I had booked on port side and we ended up docking on starboard...I enjoyed it much more being able to watch everyone coming on and off the ship and watching the excitement on the dock. I just want her to be able to experience it.
Thank you again for the replies.

Thank you keesar!

Thank you both! Fantastic replies that made me chuckle. Unfortunately, you both say the opposite. Hum. ..maybe I can get more past experiences from people. I want my mom to have to best possible experience.
Thanks again!

For those who have sailed this itinerary already on the Celebrity Reflection, can you tell me which side you dock when in ports? Port or Starboard? I know that it will vary, depending on several factors. But I wouldn't mind seeing what has most often occurred.
The itinerary out of Miami is San Juan, St,Maarten, St. Thomas, returning to Miami.
Thanks for the help!

Summit
CABIN #: 1117
DECK #: 11
CLASS: Aqua
AREA: Aft
BED NEAR: Balcony
QUIET?: Yes
BALCONY VIEW: Terrific
BALCONY SIZE: bit larger than a normal balcony
WIND A PROBLEM?:no
SOOT A PROBLEM?:No
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:This cabin was on the side of a hump. If that makes sense. So the balcony was angled and was a bit larger than a normal balcony. It was perfect.

We were just in the mid-aft area of the Epic 12th floor...really bad vibrations in the morning when docking. So if your an early riser, its not bad. Not sure about other ships.
-
Yes its really really bad. Its a regular machine with the coffee packets to go in the top.
-
A couple years ago at a similar time we experienced a lot of ship movement as well.

I am glad you had fun and made new friends too! Ingore the negativity. Thanks for sharing I am sure it was pretty exciting :)

Uggg...That's too bad. It was a long shot...I know..it sounds like no one has ever had luck. Especially if it has to be done in Canada. I was unaware of that part.
