You should know that if you are already receiving an OBC from Seabourn this Referral OBC cannot be stacked. But you can combine it with the Carnival Stockholder credit.

Thank you for letting us know. We have AmEx OBC from paying with our platinum card. We did not get Seabourn OBC and are not Carnival stockholders.

Any certificates still available for two first time Seabourne cruisers leaving July 27 for “Spanish Magic and Morocco”? Thank you!

We are first timers to SB and leave July 27 for Spanish Magic and Morocco. Anything to increase our OBC is appreciated

Where does the Venice shuttle take you?

We fly in to Sydney from
LAX and arrive on a Monday morning. Are we better off paying cash for our cab to the Four Seasons, and if so, should we change some money at the airport? Thank you!

Lol good point! Thx for the info

First time Celebrity. Will be in port overnight on Solstice in Sydney. After we check in and put our bags in our cabin, we may want to go ashore and come back very late or even the next morning . Any problems with this? Can you get on and off at all hours as long as you are back at least 1 hour before sailing? Thanks!

Obviously not cruising from Austin Texas! Sorry but my iPhone decided to help me out with the auto-correct function

Am I correct that on the Austin-NZ Solstice itinerary you cruise three sounds in one day and Milford is last, so if you get off for the overnight Queensland excursion you have gotten to cruise Dusky Sound? Is the scenery in each of the "sounds" different? Thank you

This was exactly the type of input I needed because you were there at the same time of year. We will pack differently in light of your comments. We were thinking it plus be like a summer cruise to the Caribbean! Appreciate the heads' up re: hooded rain poncho/jacket. Many thanks

Thanks for the advice. On cruise in April the sand fleas were out in full force on Roatan. I was prepared with Avon Skin So Soft (Deet doesn't deter them) and I did not have a single bite, while my daughter and her friend each had around 30! I heard NZ gets sand fleas so I will bring the magic lotion...was not sure if the Mosquitos would be an issue, like they were in Alaska.

First timers on Celebrity and first time to these ports. Would appreciate advice for attire on ship (12days =3 formal nights???) and attire in ports (likely hot and humid??). My impression was that I could wear a little black dress or equivalent for formal nights with a casual dress or slacks/nice top for other nights. Our dining is AQ Blu but I don't know if that is less formal than the MDR. Will we need rain ponchos for excursions in Austin/NZ late Nov-early Dec? Bug spray? I am a mosquito magnet.
Thank you!

Great reply... Very helpful, thanks. We are a married couple in our 50s, love nature and water sports...experienced scuba divers. We do not live in LA but will be flying from LAX. We tend to shy away from crowds and generally enjoy smaller cruise ships like Paul Gauguin but this itinerary excited us, and the AQ verandah seems like a nice place to relax on sea days. Would love to go to Great Barrier Reef and Lizard Island sounds fun but due to work schedule cannot arrive until Monday before the Thursday sailing, not sure how to make that work. I did not realize we could do an overnight excursion in NZ...I assumed we could not get off the ship during the day we are cruising the Milford Sound. We have no excursions planned yet. The only must-do for hubby is the Bridge in Sydney. The idea of sailing in the Bay of Islands seems perfect! We will likely avoid large group tours. Your recommendations are most appreciated.

Thanks for the quick replies! Looking forward to learning more about getting the most out of a special trip

Looking forward to a great cruise, but would NOT use the transfers out of IAD again. Hate to complain but want to let those of you debating whether to buy transfers that you might want to reconsider. Arrived this morning , claimed luggage, waited an hour. Unlike transfers for other Princess cruises in the past, very disorganized. Apparently they do not notify dispatch to send the bus until there are enough passengers to fill the bus, but no one tells you that and the men with the Walky-talkies were having a hard time communicating with dispatch. When the bus arrives, no help with luggage as in past, just wheel it out to bus and the driver puts it under, with lots of Princess reps just standing around. Then you go to another terminal. Be forewarned...your carryons will not fit in the bus overheads, so you hold them on your lap or put them in the aisle after everyone is on board. Then there is a 50 minute or more ride to the port, depending on traffic. Others have had positive things to say about the transfer process, and we had better experiences when we cruised from other ports. Anyhow, still excited and optimistic about the next steps. More later.

Would appreciate comments from recent cruisers about condition of equipment, cleanliness, how crowded, hours...also, are there sign up sheets for elipticals or treadmills? Sailing 4/19/14. Thanks.

Congrats! That's a great upgrade!
BTW, are you the "gaa" from the old Cruise2 board from like 14 yrs. ago?
No, it has been a long time but do not recall posting 14 yrs ago under gaa...but refresh my memory

Good news for your family, upgrades are serendipitous! Is this your daughters first Princess Cruise?
Enjoy!
Ken
She is "Ruby" level but it is first time for her friend. We are celebrating grad school graduation and bday, so maybe that helped them

Dreams do come true. Our daughter was upgraded from ocean view to mini suite! Woo hoo! Thank you Princess. We are sailing on Caribbean Princess Saturday, got the notice today. Hubby and I are still in the mini suite we booked but we are very happy.
