  1. Oh yes, the usually "I heard my hairdressers cousin say..." Its called eavesdropping. Considered rude by most.
  2. Sorry, but neither do you have facts. People will tell you anything. Repeating as gospel is just silly.
  3. This is the speculative part of which you have no actual knowledge: and remove auto gratuities
  4. No need for rudeness. You have no idea what they are doing... you are speculating. They could be tipping on top of auto tips. Yes, you are observing something but then you are speculating about their total activity. Do not confuse what you are doing. Assuming is another word for it.
  5. 4 hours ago, scorpluvsdolphins said: I’m definitely not a novice to Royal with over 150 cruises. Many, many Pinnacles remove the auto gratuities especially on Oasis and Quantum class ships. They eat in CK and tip every meal. If they do go to the MDR, they tip every meal and tip the head waiter at the end of the cruise. They give the host in CK a tip at the end as well as the CK manager. If they go to the WJ, they leave $1-$3 under the plate or give it to the person clearing away the dishes. How do I know? I’ve witnessed it. The cabin stewards prefer cash tips. Many Pinnacles give the cabin steward $5pppd or MORE. Cabin stewards prefer $70+ cash for 2 people for a week, than auto left on and $20+ cash. Many Pinnacles bring specific gifts, snacks, candy and quality chocolate that crew want or requested on top of the cash tips. Many D+ are following suit.
  6. You do you. After 55 cruises I would count us as experienced. But you comments still make no sense. (I noticed that you didn't answer my question about on land.)
  7. Not true. Staff has a list. But just hand cash to those you want to tip.
  8. Yes, might be flagged. For $725 I would take the chance. Tip cabin attendant and waiters and catch the rest next time you cruise with out all the family. We just did a Virgin Voyage last week with family. Best parts were NO tipping, no extra charge specialty dining and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. $400 bar tab and $600 obc were nice too. 👌
  9. So at home you make a point to tip the guy running the movie projector, the dish washers in restaurants and the guy at the car wash who never touched your car? "Behind the scenes" should be paid out of your cruise fare, not tips.
  10. Left kids and grands on the 22nd ending a Virgin Voyage. Got an uber. Arrived at Ft Lauderdale early for a 4 night Liberty Christmas cruise. 10:15 into security and into comfy seats inside. 1/2 time for rest rooms, etc then onto ship. Earliest ever for us.
  11. Yeah. You must have an iron stomach. 1/2 that amount of booze would kill me. Great job!
  12. Many use them interchangeable. Cause they fly to MCO to cruise PC.
  13. Okay... go stand in the with knutz! Enough nonsense. ,-)
  14. But you know FL to Bermuda= .... but Baltimore to Bermuda= .....…...….…..… right? Plus cold weather 2 days coming and going. Do the math.
  15. I thought they just tossed the body overboard. Fish food.
