  1. We have done the Chef's Table on both Allure and Oasis and found the dining experience outstanding. There are no more than 12 people and each course is presented by the chef with a wine pairing presented by the sommalier. It is pricey, but we think it is worth the price.

We also did 150 Central Park on Allure twice. The first time it was very disappointing. We tried it again in June of this year and it was excellent! If you dine there the first night of the cruise it is a "2 for 1", which makes it a very good deal.

IMO, Chops is a steak house and I can get a good steak anywhere.

Giovanni's was excellent on Allure (didn't try it on Oasis). Word of warning -- LOTS of food! Pace yourself or you'll need a crane to lift you out of your seat after dinner.

Of course, whether the cost is "worth it" is truly a personal and subjective matter. For us Chef's Table, 150 Central Park and Giovanni's gave us meals that met or exceeded our expectations.

Personally, we do not like My Time dining. We prefer late seating with the same tablemates and wait staff. Plus, the show times are geared toward the traditional dining times, so unless you eat at about the same time you can miss out on the shows. Don't miss the shows....They are fantastic!

    Hope this information is helpful.

How did you find out 2 for 1 deal on 150 Central Park on first night? Wish they can offer 2 for 1 deal at Giovanni on first night. I really like to have our party of 6 trying it.

  2. yes never book them people, way to dark and closed off..... LOL! I am booked on both of my next cruises in 9209 - which I suppose has a similliar balcony than the one the OP posted. Great pictures by the way- I had angled balcony´s the last three cruises- never had a problem with dark cabins. Okay an inside might be a bit dark...!

I just booked 9215 for our June, 2013 cruise. I think the cabin should be same as yours.

  3. The aft balconies are "shaping" up like this.

I extended the balconies on cabins 1138, 1140, and 1141 based on the pics I've seen so far.

I did an overlay of deck 11 and deck 10:

    Not to scale, of course.:)

Cabins 1130 and 1133 look like regular balconies.

Cabin 1140 looks like a balcony with a full extension.

Cabins 1138 and 1141 look like they have a balcony with half that extension (due to angle of the railing).

1140 looks like the one to grab if you have a chance. No stairs looking at you and the largest and most private balcony.

1138 and 1141 are a close second. Almost as big a balcony but due to the angle you can be looking at people that may be looking at you. They don't

have hallways along one of the walls or stairways right next to your balcony.

1130 and 1133 have the smaller balconies, least amount of privacy, have a hallway that runs along one of your walls and stairs right next to your balcony divider.

NOTE: All of the aft cabins beat your living room at home. :D

    Mr. Julius:

Thanks for the deck plan. I was going to book to 1133 or 1130, now I am going to book 1140, or 1141, 1138 instead if I could. On X website deck plan, they all look the same.

  4. On the Sapphire -- can anyone tell me if this hull cut out balcony is totally self-contained -- does it share "air space" at the top with the balcony next to it? I am hoping the wall separating it from the next balcony runs completely to the top with no open air space and is not the partial plastic wall that separates all the other balconies. Thank you!

    Mina:

My wife and I just came back from a Sydney/Auckland tour on Diamond Princess, sister ship of Sapphire. We stayed at cabin B746. I can tell you the wall is completely separated from next cabin, from top to bottom. You will only have one neighbor cabin to your right. See photo attached.

It has a very spacious balcony because of the angle. Highly recommend this cabin.
