  1. Didn't read good things about this company on Trip Advisor. There is a segway tour at Blue Lagoon which is supposed to be ok (but it is just an hour). I just can't figure out if you are allowed to stay on the island after your tour because then it would be a no brainer for me and DH.

A lot of reviews for the other company all said the same thing. Short tour, no real info about the island and multiple stops for you to get off and buy things. I like being on the segway-I don't need a tour of souvenier shops.

  2. While New York car thieves may have the luxury of a 3 or 4 day stalking/surveillance period, here in South Florida it's more of a "Gone In 60 Seconds" event regardless of where you are parked. This includes Law Enforcement vehicles from time to time, too.

NY thieves take it just as fast. Years ago I didn't park my car in my garage for just one evening because I was in a car accident earlier that day and hurt my hand and didn't want to lift the garage door. Next day my Honda Accord was gone. They found it a week later cut in half (literally) where the front half was no longer attached to the back half. Car was totaled of course. I'm just wondering if the thieves know which hotels let you stay for the duration of your cruise and target them more frequently. I'm guessing not because I think we would hear about those incidents on these boards pretty quickly.

  3. Again, La Quinta is totally free with no need to book any kind of package. You will have to take a taxi or Uber to and from the port. Taxi fare should be around $20 each way and I have no idea about Uber. Whether it's worth it depends on how long your cruise is. If you are on a 3 or 4 day cruise you might as well park at the port.

My cruise is for 7 days and we have used La Quinta in PC without a problem. However last time I checked my dates were unavailable. With the price being approx. $135 per night and $40 to cab back and forth I figure its about 80.00 to stay there extra (saw lots of places that were around $90). So for $25 I think I rather have it with me. But if something opens up and prices are a little more reasonable I would reconsider.

  4. When I cruise out of Port Everglades I always use Park N Go on Eller Drive. Very close to the port, shuttles are very frequent in both directions, and it's also good if you are doing a transatlantic and flying into or out of FLL on one end and going in/out of Port Everglades on the other end because they have free airport shuttles as well.

Plus they give you a free bottle of water on your way out for the drive home. And they are about half the price of parking at the port.

I have no problem with a parking place except if I have to leave my keys (this is usually the situation in NY which is why we cab it to the airports). Is it required to leave your keys so they can move your car?

  5. So now that I am aware is costs $15 at the port I am I still better off there as opposed to paying the higher "cruise" package price and having to take a cab or an uber back and forth? Also wouldn't my car be safer at the port? I'm thinking if you know that cruise guest are gone for at least a week wouldn't a car thief want to target the cars that haven't moved in 3 or 4 days? By the time you get back your car is long gone. Or is that just the New Yorker paranoid coming out in me? LOL

  6. If parking is only $10 per night at the port I'm thinking about staying at a less expensive hotel since we will have a car to go to eat where ever we want and don't have to worry about being close to food, etc. I also don't have to worry about shuttles and cabs to/from PE. I'm thinking this makes sense. Are there any flaws in the plan that I'm not aware of? Will my car be safe at the port (its a new fully loaded Rogue and while its not a fancy car I will be paying it off for the next 3 years and want to keep it new looking and not be broken into). After we have prked is getting from the parking to the actual port itself a hassel? I', assuming that they have shuttles that pick people up in the parking area.

  7. My DH and I are booked in 10190 on Allure this summer (2017). Was wondering if anyone who has stayed in one of the starting or ending hump rooms has any pictures of the "extra room." If no pictures than what was your impression. The RCI agent made it sound like it was a real find to have one of these hump rooms (btw it is now a D6). Its a little more forward than I usually like so was wondering if I should switch. Thanks

  8. I've already checked in on line for both me and DH. We are able to print our set sail passes. But I do not see any luggage tags attached. Will they send those images to my email at a latter date? We are sailing on April 2,2017. Is it too soon? I usually sail Carnival and they send the luggage tags with the on line check in. Thanks in advance for your help.

  9. The lockers are located around the area, one set by zip line, another by jet skis, and I do not know of any others.

Last summer it was around $8 and was charged to your sea pass.

You buy a locker "pass" code for the day and can use it anywhere.

Hard to explain, you just dont get the one locker ......but can use them at any location, just with the one time fee.

    It works.

    Enjoy, we did

    Love Labadee

Since I'm not planning on doing any excursions I was wondering if there are any lockers that any one knows about at Columbus Cove?

  10. there are some lockers .... I forget if they charged .... I'm sure they did. They are at the building where you take a little class b4 heading out on the PWCs

If they charge (and I'm sure they do) do they take bills or coins. Want to lock up stuff if I am in the water. Also is there a map of Labadee so I can get oriented before I arrive? Also how are the bathroom facilities?

  11. Long overdue but it seemed like fun. Let me explain. We were there right after a hurricane (don't remember which one) but it was big enough so that all the craft was pulled out of the water. My son's scuba was canceled because they had to get their boat back in the water and the visability was pretty awful. We came upon the UFO's (right where they said it would be) and Nancy (think that is her name but don't bet on it) had to get the UFO's back in the water (it took a while). She normally wouldn't be alone but one of the owners went to check on his mom as her island was hit very hard by the hurricane and he took an emergency flight out that morning to check on her.

By then my son found us and found out his scuba was cancelled (dive shop was right in same parking lot as the UFO'S) so we all decided to do the UFO's. One condition was that you had to be able to start the boat yourself (like a lawnmower or engine off a small boat) by pulling the cord. I could not do it as I was weak (recovering from the shingles-get the shot). My hubbie and son loved it. They were going like made men and loving it. Nancy gave me a ride in one so I could experience it. Seemed bumpy to me and too active as I had been pretty sedate for months. When they got off they had some rum punch and we left feeling satisfied. If you get the opportunity to do it I wouldn't pass it up.

  12. They are available for the kids in Adventure Ocean. Adults bring your own or they had some that you could purchase in the gift shop.

Edit. If you are travelling on Harmony or Quantum class they won't punch a hole in the Seapass card because of the RFID chip. You need a lanyard with the plastic sleeve attached. Guest services will punch the hole on other ships.

Thanks for the heads up especially since we will be on Anthem. Now I know I need to bring something.

  13. You missed your chance to fully experience Anthem's dining with the elimination of Dynamic Dining.

The ship IS the destination though.

When I first booked (labor day weekend) they still had the Dynamic Dining and a friend of ours keep saying to go on line and book our dinners. When I did this after the Oct change over I didn't understand what he was talking about until I found out the DD was over. I don't mind but I think DH is a little disappointed. I'm sure he will make up for it on the first formal night with his usual 7 or 8 lobsters. LOL

I want to surprise him with a massage (he would never book it himself) but the special pricing is for sail away 1st day or dinner time 1st day. Will they run specials on board or should I just bite the bullet and do it now?

Already booked our shows but no comedy? Or are those in smaller venues and its first come first served?

  14. Here is a very small little detail that I need to know. I cruise mostly Carnival and in the casino you can get your card punched and they give you an spiral elastic cord so you can wear your sea pass card around your neck. Do they have anything like that on Royal or do I need to bring something else?

  15. I suggest the op try Holland America. It might be a better fit for them.

I'm not a foodie but my husband is and we sailed with Holland this summer in Alaska. He felt the food was no better than Carnival (the line we usually sail). I don't know if this was because we were in Alaska but he was expecting better. We are sailing Anthem in April because he wants to try a ship as opposed to an itinerary. Looking forward to it despite OP opinion. Maybe I'm just used to the butt cracks....

  16. I will be sailing on Anthem in April and some of the pools say freshwater while others don't make mention. Do all the pools on Anthem have fresh water or only some? If just some can you tell me the names of those that have fresh water? Also which are the most serene? Would like to spend time at the adults only pool which I believe is in the back on deck 13 but not sure if it is quiet and what type of water is in the pool.

    Thanks

  17. I am going to the Bahamas with Royal Caribbean in April. They have clamshells to rent but I was wondering if that was necessary. I want shade with a lounger (actually two one for me and one for DH). Is there an abundance of shade or would I be better off just renting an umbrella? Is it hard to find a lounger? Which is the best beach for snorkeling? Does it get very crowed or will it be peaceful? Any hep for this first timer on RC would be appreciated.
