  1. If you are near London Bridge with some time to spear, the Imperial War Museum is close by. Its free, an worth a look around.

Depending what interests you, the National Portrait Gallery is near Charing X station and is fascinating. Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museums are good and all free too.

Then of course, there is Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace. (keep out the way of the Guards if you see them coming! They have right of way)

There is a very good website called walkit.com. Worth looking at to plan routes.

  2. Hubby and I were discussing this very thing last night, but poo poo'd it because of there being a thousand toddlers around. I hadn't thought about kids clubs keeping them entertained!

(its not that I don't like children, its just mine are finally getting to the point where they are off my hands, and I appreciate the peaceful moments.)

I think it might be back on the agenda!

  3. We're just off Ventura and the first formal night was scheduled for day three. This remained the case even after cancellation of the St Peter Port call led to day 2 becoming an additional sea day.
Why was your St Peter's Port cancelled? We are doing a 2 nighter to St Peters Port at the end of August. Its the only port!
  4. When on Cruise Critic before our first cruise, I read all about door signs, got very excited and made and laminated some for our door.

No other door had them on and so they got taken down very quickly. I wonder if it was because it was a European Cruise.

  5. Are you going on Eurostar? I would advise you go from Ebbsfleet rather than Ashford and Operation Stack has been a complete pain for several weeks. It bungs up all the roads between Maidstone and Ashford. If you are planning on driving I think you may be taking a chance as the tunnel has been shut several times of late and getting to Dover has been almost impossible due to the aforementioned Operation Stack.

I went there as part of a weekend RCI tour in May and had a lovely day. Everying was open. Had the most amazing Chocolate covered waffle! We had around 4 hours there and could have spent a bit longer. Its a lovely town. I would like to go again.

  6. I too find the duvet waaayyyy to heavy, even with the ac turned down. I always ask the steward to replace it with a sheep and light blanket. Never a problem.
Took me half a thread to realize this was a typo and not an Amercanism! I was trying to work out what a sheep and light blanket could be!

  7. As a Brit coming to the US I need an ESTA which is easily arranged on the internet and a passport that has six months validity from the return date. Also some insurance in case we get sick (your health services are horrendously expensive!)

As a Brit booking onto a Royal Caribbean cruise I need a valid passport. The vaccinations suggested are dependent on where I will be visiting. Cruising in Europe I don't specifically need (although I choose to get) health insurance as we are covered by the ESTA scheme which allows emergency care.

  8. In a nutshell..... My Time dining involves pre paying gratuities and for that you get to choose when you eat, you can book each day for later that evening or just pitch up and wait.

Main dining has two sittings early and late (Can't remember the times off hand) Both either of these options can be set up as you book. The earlier seating time generally is more popular and may have a waiting list.

  9. My Daughter (age 15) wears 12-13 clothes or can get away with a size 6 Adult. We have found our best bet to be either Matalan's teenager range or New Looks 9-15 range.

DD wore a skater style dress for the formal night on our cruise in a lacy material. She looked lovely!
